It’s very difficult to get high precision measuring result using contact torquemeter because of very low signal-to-noise ratio. To overcome this defect, a wireless torque measuring system is designed based on CC2500. This system uses strain gauge torque sensor to measure the surface principal stress of the transmission shaft, and get the maximum shearing stress, and then the torque that the transmission shaft bears. The weak output signal of torque sensor is magnified by the instrumentation amplifier AD623, and sent to the analog-to-digital convertor. These digital data are transmited to the portable receiving terminal by the wireless transceiver chip CC2500. The dynamic wireless torque measurement is realized by this system.

We have completed this paper as per rulebook of kart racing competition. It involves 5 different departments which are Transmission, Roll cage, Brake, Steering, Wiring. This karting has no suspension and differential. It is generally recognized as small scale or economic way of motor sport. Transmission is the most important system in any vehicle. In go kart, there is no differential therefore we have to transmit power directly to shaft. Braking is a system which is used to stop transmitting power at instant. This involves stopping revolving transmission shaft by applying force on pedal.

A flexible rotor balancing procedure, which incorporates the advantages and eliminates the disadvantages of the modal and influence coefficient procedures, has been developed and implemented. This new procedure, referred to as the Unified Balancing Approach, has been demonstrated on a supercritical power transmission shaft test rig. The test rig was successfully balanced through four flexural critical speeds with a substantial reduction in effort as compared with the effort required in modal and influence coefficient balancing procedures. A brief discussion of the Unified Balancing Approach and its relationship to the modal and influence coefficient methods is presented. A series of tests which were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of various balancing techniques are described. The results of the Unified Balancing Approach tests are presented and discussed. These results confirm the superiority of this balancing procedure for the supercritical shaft test rig in particular and for multiple-mode balancing in general.

The function characteristics of bending moment and torque were analyzed based on the principle of torque measurement and the adverse effect of bending moment to torque measurement was proved theoretically. By distributing the positions of resistance strain gauge on the transmission shaft and the relative positions in the bridge, an effective method of eliminating the adverse effect of bending moment was proposed base on the principle of superposition and counterbalance in the bridge, and the potential errors were analyzed and corrected. Then the proposed method was applied in measuring the torque of a motor shaft. The result shows that the effect of bending moment has been eliminated, and this method is feasible and effective.

A numerical control transformation (NCT) system for a conventional lathe machine is introduced in this paper. The NCT system is considered as the key equipment to the manufacture of the transmission shaft. According to the construction feature and technological requirements, both the hardware and software construction are analyzed, as well as the implementation method of the NCT system. By practical operation, the experiment test result is given at the end of the paper to support the usefulness and practicality of the NCT system.
