Natural gas has been attracting increasing attentions all around the world as a relatively cleaner energy resource compared with coal and crude oil. Except for the direct consumption as fuel, electricity generation is now another environmentally-friendly utilization of natural gas, which makes it more favorable as the energy supply for urban areas. Pipeline transportation is the main approach connecting the natural gas production field and urban areas thanks to the safety and economic reasons. In this paper, an intelligent pipeline dispatch technique is proposed using deep learning methods to predict the change of energy supply to the urban areas as a consequence of compressor operations. Practical operation data is collected and prepared for the training and validation of deep learning models, and the accelerated predictions can help make controlling plans regarding compressor operations to meet the requirement in urban natural gas supply. The proposed deep neutral network is equipped with self-adaptability, which enables the general adaption on various temporal compressor conditions including failure and maintenance.

Abstract This paper presents an experimental evaluation of the thermal couple impedance model of power modules (PMs), in which Silicon Carbide (SiC) Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect-Transistor (MOSFET) dies are implemented. The model considers the thermal cross-coupling effect, representing the temperature rise of a die due to power dissipations by the other dies in the same PM. We propose a characterization method to obtain the thermal couple impedance of the SiC MOSFET-based PMs for model accuracy. Simulation based on the proposed model accurately estimates the measured die temperature of three PMs with different die placements. The maximum error between measured and simulated die temperatures is within 8.1 ◦C in a wide and practical operation range from 70 ◦C to 200 ◦C. The thermal couple impedance model is helpful to design die placements of high power PMs considering the thermal cross-coupling effect.

In recent years, climate change, global warming, and environmental degradation these issues have intensified. Among them, carbon dioxide is a key factor in climate warming. Controlling carbon emissions by auditing them can make a big difference to the environment. Therefore, most countries have formulated corresponding policies to control carbon emissions and carry out the work of carbon audit. China has vigorously advocated the development of resource and environmental auditing these years. It is expected that carbon will reach its peak in 2030 and achieve its neutrality in 2060. And theoretical research and practical operation of carbon auditing has gradually aroused everyone’s attention. Based on this, article will study the theory of carbon audit up to now, combine with the actual operating conditions of various countries, sort out China’s carbon emissions, carbon accounting and carbon audit related systems. And the authors propose that the short-term work should increase the construction of carbon audit system, information collection platform construction and government-led operations, etc. And the long-term work should formulate carbon audit standards, cultivate its talent team, build its evaluation system and formation mechanism, etc.

An electric lawn mower supplied from batteries was designed and constructed. Li-ion cells are used because of their high volumetric and weight energy density. Falling prices of these batteries allow such a conception to be practical. Two separate motors are used – one for the traction and the other for the main blade drive. Both motors are brushless DC motors (three-phase synchronous motors with permanent magnets with a specific waveform of the induced voltage). Hall sensors are used to sense the rotor position which is necessary for the control of converters. A high torque outrunner construction of the blade motor was selected to eliminate the need of a gearbox. The used battery capacity of 1.6 kWh was shown to be unnecessarily high for a practical operation – a long operation time (more than 3 hours for one charge), high weight.

The current evaluation method does not consider the coordination and overall situation of various practical skills, which affects the evaluation contact degree and leads to hidden dangers of production safety. Therefore, an evaluation method of chemical technology safety practical operation ability based on a stochastic model is proposed. Using association rules to design the feature mining algorithm of practical operation ability, combined with crosslayer coding strategy, the mapping relationship between safety accidents and practical operation ability is established. The chemical safety practical operation skills are simulated by a random model, and the practical operation skills are classified and coordinated according to the simulation predictive control results. According to the coordination results, the evaluation index system is constructed, the index weight is determined, and the evaluation model of chemical technology safety operation ability is constructed. The experimental results show that the maximum connection degree of the evaluation method designed in this paper is 88.06%, and the evaluation results are more accurate, which is helpful to improve the production safety of chemical enterprises.

This work characterizes resistive switching and neuromorphic simulation of Pt/HfO2/TaN stack as an artificial synaptic device. A stable bipolar resistive switching operation is performed by repetitive DC sweep cycles. Furthermore, endurance (DC 100 cycles) and retention (5000 s) are demonstrated for reliable resistive operation. Low-resistance and high-resistance states follow the Ohmic conduction and Poole–Frenkel emission, respectively, which is verified through the fitting process. For practical operation, the set and reset processes are performed through pulses. Further, potentiation and depression are demonstrated for neuromorphic application. Finally, neuromorphic system simulation is performed through a neural network for pattern recognition accuracy of the Fashion Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology dataset.

Abstract In the application of digital model of animation scene, image restoration technology and image denoising technology are the basic tasks of practical operation, which are closely related, but there exist also essential differences. The reason is that both of them want to obtain the original image from the degraded noise image or damaged image, but generally speaking, as there is no sufficient constraint information to accurately recover the original image, both of them are unwell-posed inverse problems. Therefore, on the basis of understanding the basic content and application research status of variational partial differential equations (PDEs), this paper discusses the application value of variational PDEs in image denoising and restoration according to the image processing requirements in the digital model of animation scenes.

Like any other medieval mariner, itinerant viking hosts would regularly have made their way ashore to regroup and reinforce their constituent craft and crews. Accordingly, historical and archaeological records from across Atlantic Europe attest to various waterside encampments having been established during overseas viking campaigns. The everyday practical operation of these camps remains largely underexplored, however, maintaining long-standing impressions that these were relatively dormant hideouts, principally used to intersperse bouts of conflict or to wait out the winter. Bringing together the interdisciplinary evidence for viking encampment from Ireland, England, and the Frankish realm, this study provides a more pronounced picture of the overall logistics involved in establishing and maintaining sites like these. Focusing on the themes of sustenance, security, industry, and commerce, it affirms that the encampments played host to an intricate, adaptive system of logistical (inter)relationships, which contributed to the overall sustainability of the earlyviking phenomenon.

The settlement of interstate disputes through recourse to courts and tribunals has grown gradually over the years, not only through the creation of new mechanisms to that effect, but also by using existing courts and tribunals. How these different international dispute settlement mechanisms operate in theory and practice is the subject of this comparative analysis by academic and practicing lawyers. The book takes stock of the procedure applicable in various interstate dispute settlement bodies, including international and regional courts and tribunals, and arbitration. This comparative view is essential to a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the various procedural rules and regulations and the practical operation of international litigation. This book is aimed not only at scholars, but also at the courts and tribunals themselves, assisting them in revising their procedures, and at States and organisations developing future international legal mechanisms.
