For the precise hole surface, the burr severely affects products’ performance. Considering the specific conditions of the precise hole surface finishing, a new method of two-phase compulsive circulation flows finishing is brought up. Nozzle number, nozzle position, liquid flow, etc. are main factors, which would directly influence finishing effect and efficiency. Affecting rules of main factors are studied by experiments and numerical simulation, which provide basis for thorough research.

This paper presents an experimental study of fire suppression effectiveness with water mist containing FeCl2 additives. The investigation focuses on suppression effectiveness under various FeCl2 additives concentrations, working pressures and nozzle different height above the fire source . The experimental results show that: there is a significant impact on fire suppression effectiveness when adding FeCl2 to water mist. There is an optimum additive concentration of extinguishing fire, corresponding to the shortest extinguishing time, the least amount of water, the highest efficiency of extinguishing fire. The nozzle working pressures and nozzle position have effect on the performance of the water mist extinguishing: the greater the pressure is, the shorter water mist fire extinguishing time is. Under the same experimental conditions, the closer the water mist nozzles are to the oil pan, the shorter extinguishing time is.

This paper aims to present an experimental study of rough rice (BRSMG CONAI cultivar) drying by using a stationary method. The grain was dried in an oven with air mechanical movement under controlled conditions of velocity, temperature and relative humidity. In order to obtain balanced moisture content, the samples studied were kept at 40 and 70°C. Results of the drying and heating kinetics of the grain during the process are shown and analyzed. It was found that higher drying rate and lower time for drying as higher air temperature (70°C) is used. It can be concluded that the reduction of the moisture content of the grain, is considered very complex and, depending on the method and drying conditions, can substantially provokes breaking and cracks, which reduces final product quality.

Abstract The main problem related to thermal condition in Surabaya as a second-largest city in Indonesia is humid and hot. It is a typical condition of tropical climate. Ventilation in the hot day will bring warm and humid outdoor air into a room. It will increase the temperature of air in the room. One of some efforts to reduce the outdoor air temperature is using an earth to air heat exchanger (EAHE) to transfer heat from the air to the earth or ground. This paper will discuss about research done to study the effect of EAHE to a room temperature. The study used two model rooms which are similar and a model EAHE. One room called condition room will receive air flowing from the EAHE pipe and the other room is called the referent room. From the research, it is found that the air in condition room with EAHE is cooler in the daytime compared to the referent room. The temperature of the condition room with EAHE is more stable.

Cooling-air grinding is one of important green grinding. Cooling-air grinding performances for 40Cr are test in this paper using cooling-air generator. Main performance influencing factors are test and analyzed, such as air temperature, wheel granularity, amount of feed and so on. Cooling-air grinding results shows that roughness of surface of test pieces can reach precise grinding standard. So cooling-air grinding can replace traditional grinding in this experiment. This study for the promotion of cooling-air grinding application technology has important significance for reference.

For the purpose of decomposing the processing gases CF4 from semiconductor manufacturers, ceramic honeycomb regenerative burner system is suggested by using the principle of HTAC. A simulated high temperature air combustion furnace has been used to determine the features of HTAC flames and the results of the decomposition of CF4. The preheat air temperature of it is above 900 °C. The exhaust gas released into the atmosphere is lower than 150 °C. Moreover, the efficiency of recovery of waste heat is higher than 70%, the NOx level in exhaust gas is less than 300 mg/m3 and the distribution of temperature in the furnace is nearly uniform. The factors influencing heat transfer, temperature profile in chamber and NOx emission were discussed. Also some CF4 can be decomposed in this system. Experimental results indicated that the destruction removal efficiency (DRE) of CF4 increases with the increasing of concentration of H2O in some scale, and will not keep climbing when the concentration reach a point. DRE of CF4 decreases with the decreasing of concentration of CF4 under condition of other factors unchanged.

In this study, an investigation on olive cake as on alternative fuel and effect of drying air temperature and drying air velocity is conducted. In many developing countries olive cake is considered as a biomass and can be used in very large amounts at very low cost. The effect of drying air temperature and air velocity at constant humidity conditions was studied. A process for drying of olive cake in a fluidized bed dryer is proposed. Results of these experiments of the olive cake indicated that olive cake has an excellent potential to be a renewable source of energy and suitable material for these types of dryers.
