Abstract The main problem related to thermal condition in Surabaya as a second-largest city in Indonesia is humid and hot. It is a typical condition of tropical climate. Ventilation in the hot day will bring warm and humid outdoor air into a room. It will increase the temperature of air in the room. One of some efforts to reduce the outdoor air temperature is using an earth to air heat exchanger (EAHE) to transfer heat from the air to the earth or ground. This paper will discuss about research done to study the effect of EAHE to a room temperature. The study used two model rooms which are similar and a model EAHE. One room called condition room will receive air flowing from the EAHE pipe and the other room is called the referent room. From the research, it is found that the air in condition room with EAHE is cooler in the daytime compared to the referent room. The temperature of the condition room with EAHE is more stable.

The illegal overtaking/crossing of stopped school buses has been identified as one of the leading causes of students’ injuries and fatalities. The likelihood of students in getting involved in a school bus-related crash increases during loading/unloading. The main objective of this driving simulator study was to study the effectiveness of different treatments in improving students’ safety by reducing the illegal overtaking/crossing of stopped school buses. Treatments used in this research are LED, Road Narrowing and Red Pavement. All proposed treatments were compared with the control condition (i.e., typical condition in the State of Qatar). Seventy-two subjects with valid Qatari driving license were invited to participate in this study. Each subject was exposed to three situations (i.e., Situation 1: the school bus is stopped in the same traveling direction, Situation 2: the school bus is stopped in the opposite traveling direction, Situation 3: the school bus is not present at the bus stop). Results showed that LED and Road Narrowing treatments were effective in reducing the illegal overtaking/crossing of stopped school buses. Moreover, the stopping behavior for drivers in LED and Road Narrowing was more consistent compared to the Red Pavement and control conditions. Finally, LED and Road Narrowing treatments motivated drivers to reduce their traveling speed by 5.16 km/h and 5.11 km/h, respectively, even with the absence of the school bus. Taking into account the results from this study, we recommend the proposed LED and Road Narrowing as potentially effective treatments to improve students’ safety at school bus stop locations.

Violence constantly carries trauma and suffering to combatants as well as non- combatants identically. It also brings enmity and negativity to everyone both emotionally and physically. The cause for any conflict does not emerge from single motive but depends on multiple factors like socioeconomic conditions, marginalisation, discrimination, political power and sometimes even environmental elements. In recent times, the conflicts often emerge among various regional groups rather than states. North Eastern part of India is one of the hotspots for such ethnic conflicts and violence. The major motives for bloody conflict between Indian Army and the underground armed rebels are perceived political imbalance and desire for a separate nation. Even the common civilians are forced to join the rebel groups without knowing consequences. Temsula Ao is one of the prominent English writers from Nagaland who through her moving narratives brings out the existent misery of conflict in her native land. The aim of this paper is to study the psychological impact of domestic violence over the combatants as well as non-combatants whose lives are inseparably intertwined with violence and bloodshed. Though violence is considered as typical condition of human nature most of the time it leads to unbearable trauma and misery. This paper also attempts to interpret the representation of women from the marginalised Ao community who finds difficult to preserve the customs and moral values in spite of regional revolt.

In fear conditioning, training with typical category exemplars has been shown to promote fear generalization to novel exemplars of the same category, whereas training with atypical category exemplars supports limited if any generalization to other category members, amounting to a typicality asymmetry in fear generalization. The present study sought to examine how trait anxiety bears on typicality asymmetry in fear generalization. Participants in one condition were presented with typical exemplars during fear acquisition and atypical exemplars of the same category in the subsequent generalization test (typical condition), whereas in the other group, atypical and typical exemplars were presented during fear acquisition and generalization test, respectively (atypical condition). We observed a typicality asymmetry in fear generalization in self-reported expectancy ratings in low trait anxious individuals only. High trait anxious individuals showed a similar degree of fear generalization in both conditions. The current results help illuminate why some individuals are at risk for exhibiting broad fear generalization after exposure to an aversive event.

Thyroid hormones impact every single significant organ/frameworks and sufficient levels are significant for ideal capacity. Thyroid brokenness is a typical condition that effects somewhere in the range of 3 and 21% of the populace with predominance being increasingly regular in ladies and in more established people. Hypothyroidism is characterized by the expansion in thyroid-animating hormone (TSH) values, joined by diminished coursing free triiodothyronine (FT3) and free thyroxine (FT4). TSH is the most solid marker of sufficiency of substitution treatment, and an incentive inside the reference run (0.4–4.0 mIU/L) ought to be viewed as the helpful objective" have serum TSH esteems somewhere in the range of 0.4 and 2.5 mU/L. It is thusly contended that TSH esteems > 2.5 mU/L reflect hidden immune system thyroid ailment and add to the slanted TSH dissemination bend, a view additionally bolstered by the way that such people have a higher danger of movement to ensuing hypothyroidism. In this way, side effects of hypothyroidism are inadequate and vague in more established individuals. This prompts thyroid capacity tests being as often as possible mentioned. Then again, high thyroid capacity, as confirm by a low TSH level needs cautious observing and treatment considered if there is proof of end-organ harm, (for example, osteoporosis or AF), or if serum TSH is stifled. Keywords: TSH, Thyroid hormones, Hypothyroidism, FT4.

A new species, Grapholita diehli n. sp., is described and illustrated from northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Among numerous new species of Tortricidae from Indonesia is one represented by a single specimen collected in Sumatra in 1992. Extensive sampling by many collectors over the past two centuries has resulted in no additional specimens of this unusual moth. The new species is the first described tortricid with a large light area apically in the hindwing; numerous other species have the hindwing highlighted overall, only basally, or not at all. The more typical condition is uniformly colored hindwings.
