Bangka Belitung is one of the tin-producing areas in the world which is characterized by the large number of granite rocks in the area as the rock carrying cassiterite minerals. Granite rocks found on Bangka Island are rocks formed due to magma activity from acidic volcanic processes. The availability of acidic water is possible due to the presence of acid-carrying minerals from granite which causes acid rock drainage or acid rock water which generally occurs in mining areas, ex-mining and exploration in tin mines. Before making efforts to prevent environmental pollution, identification is needed regarding the potential acidity of the rock so that the pH and dissolved metal content that endangers survival can be prevented to a minimum.

Pyrolysis oil derived from sewage sludge is considered as one of the substitute of crude in the world confronting energy shortage. Before the utilization of pyrolysis oil in industry, comprehensive investigation of its physico-chemical characters is needed. Through detailed analyze of its fuel properties and other characters including metal content, solid content and stability, the pyrolysis could not used as No. 4 fuel before improving its fuel characters, decreasing its metal and solid content, and increasing its stability. The detailed analyze of the pyrolysis oil could provide basic data for the process and use of it in future.

The content of lead (Pb), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), and cadmium (Cd) in some selected fruits and vegetables from the Misurata City Market, Libya, were measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results of this study showed that the average concentrations detected ranged from 0.02 to 1.824, 0.75 to 6.21, 0.042 to 11.4, 0.141 to 1.168, 0.19 to 5.143, and 0.01 to 0.362 mg/kg for Pb, Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, and Cd, respectively. The highest mean levels of Pb, Cu, Zn, Co, Ni and Cd were detected in mango, melon, spinach, banana, mango, and mango fruits, respectively. The levels of these metals found in our study are compared with those reported for similar fruits and vegetables from some other parts of the world. The daily human intakes of Pb, Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, and Cd ascribed to a diet of fruits and vegetables in this region have also been estimated.

Millions of tons of red mud are currently generated in the world as a by-product of aluminium production. The storage of this red mud causes both technological and environmental problems for professionals. Therefore, an important area of research is to prioritize research into the use of red mud as a secondary raw material. Several studies have already been carried out on the subject, either on the utilization of the metal content of red mud or even on its use in building industry, but economical, industrial-scale application has not yet been achieved in either case. The aim of the present research is to develop an economical technology base for the use of red mud as a secondary raw material in the brick industry.

The presence of heavy metals in the aquatic environment must be monitored continuously. This study aims to determine the amount of heavy metal content of Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) on Vaname Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). Determining the value of Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) using an AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) device. It is known that the highest Cd content in the sample 4 (market pancing) which is worth 0.011 mg/kg, and the lowest is in the sample 6 (market sei kambing) which is worth 0.004 mg/kg. The value of the highest Pb value is found in the sample 3 (market merah) worth 0.019 and the lowest value is the sample 5 (market petisah) worth 0.008. So that the results of these tests can be concluded, that the content of heavy metals Cd and Pb in each sample of vaname shrimp is classified as low according to the World Health Organization (WHO), namely the maximum limit of Cd is 5.0 and the maximum limit of Pb is 2.0 while according to EUROPEAN UNION the limit of calcium Cd is 0.2 and the maximum limit of Pb is 0.5 because the vaname shrimp sample is still safe for consumption and can be an export commodity.

AbstractFe XIV 530.3 nm coronal emission line observations have been used for the estimation of the green solar corona rotation. A homogeneous data set, created from measurements of the world-wide coronagraphic network, has been examined with a help of correlation analysis to reveal the averaged synodic rotation period as a function of latitude and time over the epoch from 1947 to 1991.The values of the synodic rotation period obtained for this epoch for the whole range of latitudes and a latitude band ±30° are 27.52±0.12 days and 26.95±0.21 days, resp. A differential rotation of green solar corona, with local period maxima around ±60° and minimum of the rotation period at the equator, was confirmed. No clear cyclic variation of the rotation has been found for examinated epoch but some monotonic trends for some time intervals are presented.A detailed investigation of the original data and their correlation functions has shown that an existence of sufficiently reliable tracers is not evident for the whole set of examinated data. This should be taken into account in future more precise estimations of the green corona rotation period.
