The article presents data concerning prevalence and structure of disability in children aged 0-4 years being brought up in specialized child homes of Ivanovo in 2006-2012. During this period decreasing ofrate ofdisability up to 1.8 times was established. In the structure of diseases conditioned development of disability in children, increasing of percentage of inherent malformations, psychic disorders and behavior disorders was marked. The increasing of number of children with limitation of capacity of independent movement and self-service was established. The number of children with mental disorders, visceral and metabolic disorders and nutrition disorders, psychic and statodynamic disorders increased. The revealed characteristics of disability in child’s home permit to properly establish process of complex rehabilitation with emphasis on the most frequent disorders.

Child malnutrition: experience in a rural communityThe aim of this work was to portray the malnutrition among children that are less than six years old in rural families as well as to investigate related factors. That is a descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach, carried out in the community Sussuí, located in Quixadá, CE with four families and their malnourished children, using the observation in the home visits and semi-structured interview. We conducted content analysis, resulting the following categories: Knowing the Child Malnutrition, Disease Losses in Family and Cultural Care. It was concluded that the subject matter child malnutrition is often approached but there is no resolution, observing high rates of disease due to lack of functionality of public policies that promote the health of individuals.Descriptors: Child Nutrition Disorders, Family, Health Promotion.La desnutrición infantil: experiencia en una comunidad ruralEl objetivo era retratar la desnutrición en niños menores de seis años en los hogares rurales, así como investigar los factores relacionados. The objective of this study is self-recorded BMI among 20-year-old female students in the context of their physical activity, weight, body height, parent’s education and the time factor. Statistical analysis of the data was based on anthropometric measurements and a survey conducted among female students (N = 1,394) from the first year of full-time studies at the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport (AWFiS) in the years 2003–2010. The relationship between variables and logistic models was analyzed (Student’s test, Duncan’s test, analysis of variance, logistic regression). Statistical analysis was conducted using Statistica 6.0 software. At the background of the research results it may be claimed that incorrect self-reported BMI favors sport (OR = 0.71), father’s elementary or basic vocational education (OR = 1.44), higher weight (OR = 0.90) and BMI (OR = 0.76) and lower height (OR = 1.07). 29.77% women did not evaluate their BMI correctly during the whole 8-year research process. The correct BMI was reported by 70.23% of the students; 26.76% overestimated their BMI and 3.01% underestimated it. A high percentage of women who practice sport and who incorrectly determined their own BMI (31.25%) is disquieting, including 8.82% of the students who underestimated their BMI, and 91.18% who overestimated it. Failure to correctly evaluate BMI may lead to nutrition disorders, low self-esteem and serious health consequences. It is reasonable to develop regular and skillful evaluation of BMI among young people by institutions and people involved in health promotion.

Aim of the study. To estimate the prevalence of the obesity in children and adult population of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the identification of the structure of the overall incidence of child and adolescent obesity. Methods. Clinical, analytical and statistical. The prevalence rate of obesity in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2012-2014 among adults was founded to be of 31-34 ‰, in children - 50-66 ‰. Results. There was noted the gain in the rate obesity in children by 30% over 3 years. In contrast to children with normal weight, in the structure of diseases in obese children in order of significance there are dominated diseases of the endocrine system and nutrition disorders, respiratory diseases, diseases of the digestive system, diseases of the circulatory system and neuro - psychiatric disorders, amounting in total of 75% of all diseases.

Background: Sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) are widely used in clinical practice for their demonstrated cardiorenal benefits, but multiple adverse events (AEs) have been reported. We aimed to describe the distribution of SGLT2i-related AEs in different systems and identify important medical event (IME) signals for SGLT2i.Methods: Data from the first quarter (Q1) of 2013–2021 Q2 in FAERS were selected to conduct disproportionality analysis. The definition of AEs and IMEs relied on the system organ classes (SOCs) and preferred terms (PTs) by the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA-version 24.0). Two signal indicators, the reported odds ratio (ROR) and information component (IC), were used to estimate the association between SGLT2is and IMEs.Results: A total of 57,818 records related to SGLT2i, with 22,537 SGLT2i-IME pairs. Most SGLT2i-related IMEs occurred in monotherapy (N = 21,408, 94.99%). Significant signals emerged at the following SOCs: “metabolism and nutrition disorders” (N = 9,103; IC025 = 4.26), “renal and urinary disorders” (3886; 1.20), “infections and infestations” (3457; 0.85). The common strong signals were observed in diabetic ketoacidosis, ketoacidosis, euglycaemic diabetic ketoacidosis and Fournier’s gangrene. Unexpected safety signals such as cellulitis, osteomyelitis, cerebral infarction and nephrolithiasis were detected. Conclusion: Our pharmacovigilance analysis showed that a high frequency was reported for IMEs triggered by SGLT2i monotherapy. Different SGLT2is caused different types and the association strengths of IMEs, while they also shared some specific PTs. Most of the results are generally consistent with previous studies, and more pharmacoepidemiological studies are needed to validate for unexpected AEs. Based on risk-benefit considerations, clinicians should be well informed about important medical events that may be aggravated by SGLT2is.
