The 40,000-Year-Old Female Figurine of Hohle Fels: Previous Assumptions and New Perspectives

As the earliest image of a human being and the oldest piece of figurative art, the female figurine of Hohle Fels remains a significant discovery for understanding the development of symbolic behaviour in Homo sapiens. Discovered in southwestern Germany in 2008, this mammoth-ivory sculpture was found in several fragments and has always been assumed to be complete, never owning a head. In place of a head, there is instead a small loop that would allow her to be threaded, possibly to be worn as a pendant. Several hypotheses have been put forward as to her original use context, ranging from representing a fertility goddess to a pornographic figure. Yet none of these theses have ever suggested that she once had a head. Here we explore whether the female figurine of Hohle Fels was designed as a two-part piece, with the head made of perishable material culture, possibly woven plant or animal fibres; or that the artefact is a broken and reworked figurine with the head simply never found. By exploring the possibility that this figurine did originally have a second part—a head—we investigate issues surrounding the role of women and children in the Swabian Aurignacian.

Historically, the status of women was very low all over the world however Islam is the only religion which help in changing the status of women and improve her status in the society. This paper explores the lives of Muslim women in the period of early Islamic society which reveals that these women gave the lesson of virtue, piety, devotion and sacrifice to every women and daughter of Islam. These ladies bore exemplary moral character, and in performance of their responsibilities they sacrificed their luxuries, comforts and happiness. Following footprints of these ladies can make every daughter a proud human being.

The objective of the article is to reveal the main foundations of human creation enshrined in Christian doctrine, which serve as axiological guidelines for the elaboration of laws, providing a humanistic content of the law. The research methodology is based on dialectical, formal-dogmatic, sociological, comparative-legal and documentary methods. The results of the study demonstrate that theocentrism and anthropocentrism are not opposed to each other in Christianity, but rather are combined into an integrated theological and anthropological picture of a man. Considering this prism of legal consciousness as a reflection of the supreme law of God, the authors refute the secular-positivist view of "homo juridicus" as a soulless subject of law and emphasize the role of the Gospel commandments as a guide. for the elaboration of laws. It is concluded that the Christian vision of the synergistic interaction of the human being and the legislator through the unity of three incarnations: "homo spiritus" - "homo sapiens" - "homo juridicus" indicates the values, which are designed to ensure humanization of the law through the humanization of social relations in general.

This research aims to analyze the process the role of government of human trafficking. Research was conducted at Bone Regency. Methods used the case study method by using a qualitative approach. The results showed human trafficking is one of the crimes against humanity, because this act has violated human rights, and the majority are victims of women and children. Referring to the Law that, every human being, especially women and children, has the right to live peacefully and properly as they should. Therefore, the right of life of every human being cannot be reduced by anyone and under any circumstances including not allowed to be traded, especially women and children. This is where the role of the government, especially the local government of Bone Regency, seeks to guarantee the protection of positive rights for them for their lives. In this case the local government of Bone Regency provides protection and prevention of human trafficking, especially women and children as a form of respect, recognition and protection of human rights is stated explicitly in Article 58 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning Crime of Trafficking in Persons.

Using data provided by the written sources and the archaeology, this article aims at analysing the Zirid Taifa of Granada, studying its different elements (administration, organisation of the state, the succession to power and material culture) in order to discover its authentic Berber aspects. The Zirides, recently arrived in al-Andalus, offer us a unique opportunity to draw comparisons between the process of Islamisation in the Maghreb and in al-Andalus. The decisive power of the tribal ǧamāʿa, the important role of women, the persistence of a Berber onomastics and the use of Berber language are features of a group that maintains a North African identity. Other areas, such as the evolution of the city, the pottery and the administrative structure of the state are clearly borrowed from the Arab-Andalusian tradition. À partir des données fournies par les sources écrites et l’archéologie, cet article se propose d’analyser la taifa ziride de Grenade, en étudiant ses différents éléments (l’organisation de l’État, la désignation des émirs et la culture matérielle) afin de révéler leurs aspects authentiquement berbères. Les Zirides, récemment arrivés en al-Andalus, nous offrent une occasion unique d’établir des parallèles entre le processus d’arabo-islamisation au Maghreb et celui d’al-Andalus. Le pouvoir de décision important de la ǧamāʿa tribale, le rôle de la femme, la persistance d’une onomastique berbère et l’utilisation de la langue berbère sont caractéristiques d’un groupe qui conserve une identité nord-africaine. This paper examines the gender equality education perspective of Muhammad Attiyah al-Abrashi's thought. Attiyah al-Abrashi is one of the leading figures in education. About twenty of his works speak of education. One interesting study described by 'Attiyah is the issue of liberty and equality education. Gender equality education in the 'Attiyah' perspective is the Islamic recognition of women's right to an unlimited education such as men. This recognition is also supported by historical facts about early educated women. There is freedom for women to learn from basic education to higher education, according to the individual interests of women. Basically the spirit of Islamic education is "freedom and democracy" that does not look at the sexes. Assuming that every human being (female / male) has the potential to be sharpened through education to be useful for building his world. In affirming the existence and role of women, 'Attiyah describes examples of women's professionalism from time to time.

The whole world, the Muslim in particular has witnessed conflicts in different areas, which have hindered the developmental efforts of the nations concerned. It should be learned that most victims of these conflicts are women and children. This article attempts to elaborate the role of Muslims Women as a crucial segment in civil society in initiating peace building through nurturing process. It maintains that the adoption of the principles and values derived from the Qur’ān and Sunnah of the Prophet is necessary as a process of lifelong learning.  Those identified values constituted the framework of this article and it adopts the textual analysis method.   This article concludes that through the implementation of those values and frameworks for peace building, women as one of the important segments of civil society are able to play significant role towards initiating peace building and promoting peaceful co-existence in pluralistic society. Abstrak: Dunia Islam khususnya telah menyaksikan konflik di pelbagai daerah yang berbeza. Konflik ini telah menghalang usaha kearah pembangunan Kawasan yang berkenaan. Kebanyakan mangsa konflik ini adalah wanita dan kanak-kanak. Artikel ini cuba untuk menghuraikan peranan wanita Islam sebagai segmen penting dalam masyarakat madani dalam membangun proses kedamaian dengan mendidik dan memupuk prinsip dan nilai murni janaan al-Qur’an. Penggunaan prinsip dan nilai yang dikutip dari ayat-ayat Qur'an dan hadis Rasulullah adalah keperluan yang mendesak sebagai wadah bagi proses pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Nilai-nilai yang dikenal pasti merupakan rangka kerja artikel ini, dan metod yang dirujuk adalah analisis teks. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahawa melalui pelaksanaan nilai-nilai dan kerangka kerja Islam bagi proses kedamaian, wanita Islam dalam masyarakat madani mampu memainkan peranan penting dalam memulakan pembinaan keamanan dan menggalakkan kehidupan yang harmonis, sejahtera dan saling bantu membantu dalam masyarakat majmuk.

This article examines the role of women in raising criminal actions of homicide before the central criminal court, in early modern Scotland. In doing so, it highlights the two main forms of standing women held; pursing an action for homicide alone and as part of a wider group of kin and family. The evidence presented therein challenges our current understanding of the role of women in the pursuit of crime and contributes to an under-researched area of Scots criminal legal history, gender and the law.

In reading archaeological texts, we expect to be engaged in a characteristically archaeological discourse, with a specific and recognisable structure and vocabulary. In evaluating the published work of 19th Century antiquarians, we will inevitably look for points of contact between their academic language and our own; success or failure in the identification of such points of contact may prompt us to recognise a nascent archaeology in some writings, while dismissing others as naïve or absurd. With this point in mind, this paper discusses the written and material legacies of three 19th Century antiquarians in the north of Scotland who worked on a particular monument type, the broch. The paper explores the degree to which each has been admitted as an influence on the development of the broch as a type. It then proceeds to compare this established typology with the author's experiences, in the field, of the sites it describes. In doing so, the paper addresses wider issues concerning the role of earlier forms of archaeological discourse in the development of present day archaeological classifications of, and of the problems of reconciling such classifications with our experiences of material culture.
