A sample of 720 college students from 10 different universities at the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center are investigated using the Social Support Scale, the Prosocial Behavior Scale, and the Interpersonal Trust Scale. Data are analyzed using SPSS20.0 and Amos7.0. Results show that the subjective support and support utilization of college students directly influences prosocial behavior, and indirectly affects prosocial behavior through the influence of emotional trust and quality trust. Additionally, interpersonal trust plays an intermediary role in the influence of social support on pro-social behavior.

Background:The purpose of the current study was to examine the association between the level of exercise behavior and individual and environmental factors related to exercise behavior among female Japanese undergraduate students. Methods:The participants were 2482 female Japanese undergraduate students. Participants’ level of exercise behavior was measured by the stage of change to exercise in the transtheoretical model. Individual and environmental factors related to exercise behavior were assessed using body mass index, self-efficacy, social support, perceived positive and negative aspects of exercise, perceived neighborhood environment, attitude toward physical education lessons in childhood and puberty, and depression. Results:Scores for self-efficacy, social support, positive aspects of exercise, and perceived neighborhood environment were significantly higher among women who were more active compared with those who were inactive. On the other hand, scores for negative aspects of exercise and depression were greater among inactive women compared with those who were insufficiently active and/or active. In addition, past attitude toward exercise in primary school, junior high school, and high school was associated with current level of exercise behavior. Conclusions:This cross-sectional study confirmed that psychosocial and environmental factors were closely associated with level of exercise behavior among female Japanese undergraduate students.

Abstract Background Currently 1.9 billion adults worldwide are estimated to be overweight or obese. In Denmark the municipalities hold the responsibility to deliver weight loss programmes to overweight and obese citizens. There has been a tendency to assume that obesity reduction programmes that work in specialized hospital settings are directly transferrable to the municipalities. However, municipality-based weight loss programmes have not produced clinically significant reductions in body weight. Differential success rates between hospital and municipal settings may be due to a discrepancy between research evidence and needs of people with obesity. The first step in developing a weight loss programme designed for the municipalities is to understand what a programme should contain, if people with obesity were asked. The aim of this study was to examine what people with obesity find important in a weight loss programme to make the weight loss successful and maintained. Methods We used a qualitative, explorative, descriptive design drawing on hermeneutical reflection with individual interviews. We included men and women age 17 and older with a BMI≥25 kg/m2. Participants were recruited from the wait lists of 13 municipality programmes and through Facebook posts. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Results Thirty-four participants with overweight or obesity were individually interviewed (age between 19 – 74). Findings suggest that weight loss programmes should support the participants in structuring days, not with restrictions but with replacement activities. Programmes should also aide individuals with taking one thing at a time and facilitating social support from friends, health professionals and peers. Diet and exercise were expressed as important content in a weight loss programme, but as having a negative meaning. Conclusion People with obesity wish to have a structured approach to weight loss that focuses on habits, social support and preserving the positive meaning of activities.

Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah PASS (Procrastination Assesment Scale of Students), TMBS (Time Management Behavior Scale, dan CASSS (Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale). This research aims to identify the relationship between the time management and the social support to the academic procrastination of grade XI students in partially as well as communally. This research used a correlational quantitative design. The samples of this research were taken using cluster sampling which consisted of 195 selected students from 421 students.  Data were collected using the instrument of Procrastination Assessment Scale of Students (PASS), Time Management Behavior Scale (TMBS), and Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS). The coefficients of those scales are 0.266-0.660, 0.273-0.767, and 0.277-0.726 with the alpha value of 0.781, 0.876, and 0.933. Furthermore, the data of this research were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. According to the result analysis, it showed that there is a significant relationship between the time management and the academic procrastination—where R = 0.420, F(4.190) = 10.192, and p =<0.01—and the significant relationship also occur between the social support and the academic procrastination—where R = 0.062, F(4.186) = 3.346, and p =<0.05. Communally, it was showed a similar result where both the time management and the social support have a significant relationship to the academic procrastination—with the value R = 0.482, F(8.186) = 7.021, and p =<0.01. Therefore, it is suggested for the counseling teachers to be able to give a valuable service in order to decrease the students’ academic procrastination. Suggested for further research, can research effect of setting goals and priorities, mechanics planning and scheduling, perceived control of time on academic procrastination in experimental studies.

Interventions involving exercise and diet can reduce the progression of Type 2 diabetes, yet they are often short-lived. Progressing toward self-managed maintenance is also challenging. If supports are in place to help individuals with behavior changes beyond immediate programming, they are more likely to maintain these changes. This is particularly the case for women, who often struggle to maintain diet and exercise changes and can benefit from social support. Small Steps for Big Changes is a 3-week counseling program housed in a local YMCA that aims to help people make exercise and diet changes. To understand how to best support women in maintaining these changes beyond program delivery, a knowledge-sharing event was held for 14 women who completed the intervention. The women engaged in a focus group to share challenges they had experienced in making diet and exercise changes and recommendations for continued support. Data were analyzed using a thematic analysis, and three recommendation areas were identified: (a) establishing peer support networks, (b) creating platforms to communicate prediabetes-related information, and (c) providing ongoing trainer support. Several recommendations have been implemented to support these women, and other individuals, postprogram. This case provides insights and recommendations for integration of initiatives beyond delivery of a behavior-change program housed in a community organization.
