Strontia nanoparticles are successfully prepared by chemical precipitation method. The SrO nanoparticles are characterized by XRD, UV-DRS and I-V analysis. X-ray diffraction peaks reveal the single-phase polycrystalline tetragonal structure with preferential orientation along (2 0 2) direction. Influence of annealing temperature strongly induce the growth of peak which indicates the increased intensity of (202) peak. The heat treatment strongly distresses the growth of triplet peaks (002), (101) and (110) whereas the same augment the growth of (202) and (310). Strontium oxide nanoparticles would allow more light for absorption in UV region due to its rough surface whereas the same would allow moderate light absorption in visible region due to its high packing density. The expansion and contraction of Sr-O bonds leads to a high crystalline nature with its purity at 322 nm. It is proposed that strain and surface defects in SrO nanocrystal take place due to different absorption edge.

This paper discusses the structure, particle morphology, and optical properties of un-doped ZnO and ZnO doped with Er3+ and Yb3+ lanthanide ion nanoparticles (NPs) through a process denominated sol-gel-hydrothermal. According to the pattern of X-ray diffraction, ZnO:Er and ZnO:Yb is formed by a single-phase wurtzite structure with crystallites sized ~65 nm on average, and Er or Yb dopant ions in the hexagonal structure of ZnO, specifically in its distorted lattice sites. The results also suggest the possible role of oxygen vacancies or Ox– (defects) in the energy transfer from ZnO to the Er or Yb ions with a decrease of 3.18 eV and 3.19 eV in bandgap values to a red shift.

The development of anilinium 2-acrylamide-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonate (Ani-AMPS) monomer, confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and FTIR, is systematically studied. Ani-AMPS contains two polymerizable functional groups, so it was submitted to selective polymerization either by free-radical or oxidative polymerization. Therefore, poly(anilinium 2-acrylamide-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic) [Poly(Ani-AMPS)] and polyaniline doped with 2-acrylamide-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid [PAni-AMPS] can be obtained. First, the acrylamide polymer, poly(Ani-AMPS), favored the π-stacking of the anilinium group produced by the inter- and intra-molecular interactions and was studied utilizing 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FTIR, and UV-Vis-NIR. Furthermore, poly(Ani-AMPS) fluorescence shows quenching in the presence of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in the emission spectrum at 347 nm. In contrast, the typical behavior of polyaniline is observed in the cyclic voltammetry analysis for PAni-AMPS. The optical properties also show a significant change at pH 4.4. The PAni-AMPS structure was corroborated through FTIR, while the thermal properties and morphology were analyzed utilizing TGA, DSC (except PAni-AMPS), and FESEM.
