The issues of ensuring the safe construction and operation of buildings and structures in a metropolis are considered. A description of the monitoring technique is given, which is to control the deformation process during new construction near existing buildings. The necessity of performing geodetic observations of deformations of the earth’s surface is emphasized. A precalculation of the accuracy of determining the position of deformation grades located in the influence zone of an object under construction is given. Based on the simulation results, control zones are identified in which it is proposed to monitor the process of deformation of the soil mass at the boundary of the pit. The advantages of the integrated deformation monitoring technique over traditional observation methods are presented.

The city of Moscow is currently faced with the extremely aggravating problem connected with traffic. Hereupon, majority of transportation systems are being expanded and upgraded. Construction of new running tunnels and subway stations, road spans, crossovers, underground parking lots, etc. is in process. The new construction affects the existing development sites in the time of surplus fallout, which leads to emergency situations. It is required to provide geotechnical monitoring of soil mass in the influence zone of new construction. To this effect, the wireless online monitoring system has been designed and introduced into surveillance of building structures and soil mass. The system is meant for the integrated and continuous observation of a control object. The operation charts and advantages of the wireless monitoring system are presented. The introduction experience of the automated geotechnical monitoring in the process of construction is described. The observation of a railroad overpass used the tilt sensors and crack meters. The deformation monitoring in soil mass was carried out using borehole deviation devices and extensometers. It is demonstrated that the time of the measurement cycles is related with the position of the shield tunneling face relative to the measurement boreholes. The interpreted data analysis proves correlation of the measured and predicted deformations. The deformation propagation in depth of soil mass is characterized. The data analysis made it possible to predict deformations of ground surface and, thereby, to eliminate a potential accident during shield tunneling under the surface railroad.

In the current situation of development of the underground space of cities, the main task is to ensure safety and maintain the normal operation of both the building under construction and existing buildings and structures located in the zone of influence of new construction. The article considers the design of the dividing screen in the form of a continuous vertical geotechnical solid, made of jet-grouting elements. The analysis of existing analytical and numerical methods of static calculation of such structures is carried out. A computational model of the screen structure in the form of a plate lying freely on a two-parameter elastic base and being under the influence of a distributed arbitrary load is proposed. The calculated simulation of the dividing screen operation at the stage of building operation is performed. The main factors influencing the distribution of internal forces in the screen design are determined.

Climate change has come and sustainability has become a global priority. Sustainability in building sector means not only new construction but also refurbishment of existing buildings. Gas emissions reduction goes necessarily through to enhace environmental and energetic characteristics of existing buildings. So, the use of renewable energy is necessary as well as sustainable refurbshiments. Many issues have a direct impact on the sustainability of a refurbishment, (environmental, social, economic, energetic, etc). This study proposes a model to weight or measure economic, environmental and energetic costs in refurbishing a façade of building, with verifiable and comparable results as a first approach to get the best model to a global evaluation in building sector. To get this model, the author study eight different refurbishment proposals for a choosen façade of building setting two different types of actions. This model is based on life cycle analysis and shows cuantitative and comparables results expressed in graphics to get a better understanding.

Grouting engineering is the most convenient and quick way to deal with postconstruction settlement. Based on the investigation of the Beijing Shenyang high-speed railway in the early stage, the microdestructive force of grout on the soil mass in the process of grouting with the method of fluid solid coupling theory was analyzed. The numerical simulation results show that, in the grouting process, the greater the grouting pressure, the wider the diffusion range of the slurry and the greater the damage to the microscopic contact force of the slurry to the soil; in addition, when the grouting pressure is below 0.15 MPa, the diffusion form of the slurry in the soil is osmotic grouting; when the pressure is about 0.3 MPa, the diffusion form of the slurry in the soil is compacted grouting; on the basis of the simulation results, a deeper research is carried out, and the calculation formula of the slurry diffusion curve is obtained. It fills in the blank of the theoretical study of the slurry diffusion curve. In this paper, the diffusion formula of grouting slurry can be used in the theoretical study of clay grouting, and it can be used as a reference for practical engineering.

The study of waterway through capacity for ports is a challenging problem due to the randomness and complexity of the waterway system, which needs to be analyzed by simulation technology. This paper quantitatively studies the influence of special ships on waterway through capacity and provides corresponding measures to improve waterway through capacity. The complex waterway system in the Port of Meizhou Bay is employed as a case study. Considering the actual conditions in the Port of Meizhou Bay, including the ships, berths, waterways, and natural conditions, a Simio-based simulation model is established. The real operation data from the Port of Meizhou Bay in 2015 are used to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the model. The simulation results show that special ships reduce the waterway through capacity by 4.9% and suggest that circumnavigation strategies that can be adopted after the extension and new construction of waterway systems can improve the waterway through capacity by 5.9%.

According to the results of processing phytoplankton samples taken in 2018–2019 on the Bolshaya River (Omsk Region), the taxonomic composition of phytoplankton, its number and biomass were established in the zone of influence of the Bolsherechensky Zoo. As part of the phytoplankton, 183 species and intraspecific taxa from 8 divisions were identified. Seasonal dynamics of abundance of river phytoplankton and its changes in zone of zoo influence were investigated. In summer, a high level of phytoplankton development and «flowering» of water caused by Aphanizomenon flos-aquae are observed in the river on the territory of the zoo. In the formation of the number and biomass of phytoplankton, a significant share belongs to Chrysophyta and Euglenophyta. The trophic status of the Bolshaya River corresponds to the category of eutrophic waters. In autumn and summer, water in the river corresponds to the 3rd quality class of «satisfactory purity».
