The paper analyses traditional and modern methods and technologies for preservation and restoration of wall paintings found through archaeological excavations in the Republic of Tajikistan. Medieval monuments such as the ancient Panjekent, Bundzhikat, Adzhina-Tepa and others gave a variety of works of pictorial art, including unique monumental paintings, the preservation of which presents a priority task for scientists, restorers and art experts. These artefacts are exposed in the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg), the National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan, the Republican Museum of History and Local Lore of Rudaki in Penjikent and the National Museum of Tajikistan. The paintings portray diverse and interrelated household, mythological, religious and epic plots, battle scenes, scenes of feasts and hunting, as well as geometrical, vegetable, and zoomorphic motives. The study of these paintings helps scientists to study in detail the medieval history of Tajik people. Therefore, their preservation is the primary task of the corresponding experts. The paper is based on personal experience of the author in preservation and restoration of monumental paintings within international projects on preservation of cultural heritage of Tajik people.

The article presents a study and publication of the correspondence of the poet Ivan Alekseevich Kostin (1931–2015) from Petrozavodsk with the archaeographer Vladimir Ivanovich Malyshev (1910–1976), who held a Doctor of Sciences degree in Philology, and the Old Believer writer and educator Ivan Nikiforovich Zavoloko (1897–1984). The correspondence includes letters and greeting cards (30 in total) from the 1970s to the early 1980s. They are currently stored in the Manuscript Division of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskij Dom) of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, the Archive of the Grebenshchikov Old Believer Congregation in Riga, the National Museum of the Republic of Karelia in Petrozavodsk, and the National Archive of the Republic of Karelia, also in Petrozavodsk. Kostin’s letters to Malyshev reveal how the Petrozavodsk poet aided Malyshev in collecting manuscripts for the Ancient Manuscripts Repository (Drevlekhranilishe) in the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskij Dom). The correspondence between Kostin and Zavoloko concerns the history and culture of the Old Believers, the Vygoleksinsky monastery, and the Zaonezhye, and issues pertaining to literary activity and academic studies. The letters make a valuable addition to Kostin’s memoirs about Malyshev and Zavoloko. The article also covers the history of Kostin’s poem dedicated to Archpriest Avvakum. The letters, published in the appendix to the article, are accompanied by comments.

В статье рассмотрена коллекция тхангка с образом Вайшраваны (санскр.), или Намсарая (бур.), хранящаяся в фондах Национального музея Республики Бурятия и датируемая XVIII началом ХХ века. Намсарай бог богатства, бодхисаттва и дхармапала, относится к одному из наиболее почитаемых божеств в бурятском буддизме, и его иконография представляет собой сложный собирательный буддийский образ. Анализ данных тхангка позволяет выделить локальные традиции бурятской тхангкописи, отметить отличительные особенности и влияние иноэтнических традиций в разные периоды истории буддийской живописи Бурятии. The focus of the article is a collection of Thangka with the image of Vaishravana (in Sanskrit), or Namsarai (in Buryat), stored in the funds of the National Museum of the Republic of Buryatia and dating from the 18th early 20th centuries. Namsaray is a god of wealth, a Bodhisattva and Dharmapala, one of the most revered deities in Buryat Buddhism, and his iconography is a complex collective Buddhist image. An analysis of these Thangkas allows us to highlight the local traditions of Buryat Buddhist icon painting, to note the distinctive features and influence of foreign ethnic traditions in different periods of the history of Buddhist painting in Buryatia.

Presents results of studies on the contribution of Kazan artist G.A. Medvedev to the emergence of painting in Mari region in the first third of the XX century. He appears as the artist of the art of Nouveau era and an epoch of formation of socialist realism. Two paintings «Rafting of timber along the Kokshaga» (1920s) and «Stepan Razin on the Volga» are of interest from the point of view of the history of development of Russian art in general.

The article present a literature review of soil erosion studies at the Republic of Bashkortostan. The history of soil erosion development in the region is described. The data of soil losses in different climatic zones of republic during different erosion events (snow melting, rainfall, irrigation and deflation) and time intervals are shown. The analysis of articles based on study of erosion-accumulation processes was carried out and recommendations for using of modern methods were given.

The article analyzes the history of the formation of the Egyptian collection of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan during the 19th and 20th centuries. Based on the materials of the archives of the city of Kazan, the national museum, as well as with the involvement of other scientific publications in the context of the museology in Kazan and the development of Russian Egyptology as a science, the four main stages of the formation of the archaeological fund, as well as the current state of the collection of the ancient Egyptian heritage, are examined and analyzed. An analysis of each stage allows the reconstruction of the evolution of Egyptology as a science, and oriental studies in general, in the regions of Russia. This collection of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the largest domestic collections of Egyptian culture, which has not been exhibited since the beginning of the 20th century. In this context, cataloging and studying the formation of a collection is necessary for its preservation as a unique heritage. The author of the article came to the conclusion about the importance of Kazan University in the development of the archaeological foundation of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the role of the collected Egyptian materials in the development of Russian Egyptology and Oriental studies in the 19th century.

Статья посвящена культурным связям между Республикой Тыва и Монголией в связи со 100-летием российско-монгольских дипломатических отношений. Автор приводит обзор ряда фактов из истории тувинского и монгольского изобразительного искусства, совместных выставочных проектов. Так, ключевыми событиями, повлиявшими на творчество мастеров, стали первая крупная выставка тувинских художников и Нади Рушевой в Монгольской Народной Республике в 1984 году, другие выставки в Монголии, Москве и Туве, групповые обменные поездки монгольских и тувинских художников в XX–XXI веках. Важными для сотрудничества стали выставки 2017 года: рисунков Нади Рушевой в Улан-Баторе и восковых фигур «Хаан хаанов» из Музея Чингисхана (Улан-Батор) в Национальном музее имени Алдан-Маадыр Республики Тыва. The article is devoted to the issue of cultural ties between the Republic of Tyva (or Tuva) and Mongolia in view of the 100th anniversary of the Russian-Mongolian diplomatic relations. The author gives an overview of a number of facts from the history of Tuvan and Mongolian fine art, joint exhibition projects. Thus, the key events that influenced the work of the masters were the first large exhibition of Tuvan artists and Nadya Rusheva in the Mongolian People's Republic in 1984, other exhibitions in Mongolia, Moscow and Tuva, group exchange trips of Mongolian and Tuvan artists in the 20th and 21st centuries. Exhibitions of 2017 became important for the development of Tuvan-Mongolian cultural relations: drawings by Nadya Rusheva in Ulaanbaatar and wax figures “Khaan Khaans” from the Genghis Khan Museum (Ulaanbaatar) in the National Museum named after Aldan-Maadyr of the Republic of Tyva.

Статья посвящена анализу письменных источников по охране памятников культуры из фондов Национального музея Республики Северная ОсетияАлания, рассматриваемых в контексте общероссийских и республиканских законодательных актов и решений, и практической деятельности по их реализации в республике в первой половине XX в. Приведенная в статье характеристика источников по данной проблематике есть лишь первое приближение к научной обработке и репрезентации хранящегося в научном архиве Национального музея солидного массива не систематизированных и не публиковавшихся ранее материалов, представленных официальными документами, материалами музеографического характера и источниками личного происхождения. Дальнейшая публикация и введение в научный оборот богатого фактологического материала из письменных фондов музея позволит значительно расширить исследовательское поле как в области историкокультурного развития республики в целом, так и истории музейного дела в частности. Особый интерес представляет изучение музейного мира республики сквозь призму персоналий. The article is devoted to the analysis of allRussian and republican legislation acts and solutions and their implementation in the first half of the 20th century. It is written on the basis of the preliminary examination of the written fund of the National Museum of the Republic of North OssetiaAlania. The analysis and characteristics of the written sources on this topic is just the first approach to the scientific processing and representation of the massive bulk of written sources kept at the museum, which have not been systematized or published. The abundant factual material, represented by the official and museographic sources and the sources of personal character will be introduced into scientific discourse in prospect, thus broadening the research field in the sphere of historical and cultural development of the Republic, the history of the museum studies and the museum world of the Republic in the person.
