One of the most discussed problems today is the postural hygiene of school students. The article reports the results of a questionnaire survey on perceptions and awareness about risk factors, postural health, and pro-health behaviors of children. The study aims to understand what parents know about correct posture and how they participate in the preservation of children’s postural health. The results of the survey show that most parents have a correct awareness about signs of correct posture, walking, and sitting and also understand the importance of the way children wear school bags and correctly selected clothing and shoes. However, the answers to questions about children’s health-oriented behavior indicate that children do not spend enough time in the fresh air outside of school and ignore outside physical education classes and morning exercises and also demonstrate a low level of parents’ control of correct posture in various activities of children. At the same time, the respondents are ready to obtain knowledge and pay attention to this issue. The results of the questionnaire confirm the need to organize training and methodological support for teachers and parents in issues of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the formation of correct posture in children.

The problems of modernization of Russian education pose new requirements for the physical education organization in secondary schools, and are aimed at finding new approaches, concepts, and technologies for the physical education of the young generation. The real volume of motor activity of middle and high school students does not provide full and harmonious physical development and strengthening the health of the growing generation. In this regard, a major prob-lem of today is the low level of physical preparation of secondary schools students. A significant decrease in moving activity explains the low level of physical qualities manifestation, including the strength capabilities of school students and flexibility. A mandatory and integral component of physical education lessons at school is the measurement of the level of physical fitness of school students. To this end, testing is conducted that determines the dynamics of the physical fitness of students and the process of physical education effectiveness in general. The theme of the revival of the All-Russian physical education and sports Ready for Labour and Defence complex is also relevant among school students, as it includes the normative basis for physical education, and is considered as an aspect of determining the level of physical fitness of school students. We present the results of exercises on flexibility and strength performed by 8–11 grade school students. We reveal relevant issues of accordance of physical fitness level of school students with the regulatory requirements of the All-Russian physical education and sports complex “Ready for Labour and Defence”.

The research featured the intellectual abilities of teenagers with different levels of stress resistance. The research objective was to describe the options for intellectual development of secondary school students depending on their stress resistance level. The authors reviewed various approaches to intellectual development of younger adolescents. They proposed a set of assessment techniques for the level of mental development. The research revealed the effect of stress resistance on the intellectual abilities of teenagers. Teenagers with a low level of stress resistance were excitable and careless, while demonstrating tender conscience and poor analytical and verbal skills. Respondents with a high level of stress showed a low level of excitability and conscientiousness, a high level of carelessness, a good ability to establish analogies, and admirable verbal abilities. The paper contains some useful recommendations for teachers and parents on the development of teenagers' intellectual skills based on their level of stress resistance.

Objective Toxoplasma gondii is a worldwide protozoan parasite that could infect virtually all warm-blooded animals, including humans. Our study aimed to investigate the prevalence of T. gondii infection in college students at Anhui province, China and to assess risk factors for T. gondii infection in college students. Moreover, growing studies demonstrated the association between T. gondii infection and host behavioral changes. We also studied the linkage between T. gondii and physical education (PE) scores of college students. Methods A total of 2704 serum samples of medical school students attending physical education lessons were collected from September 2017 to September 2019 and evaluated for T. gondii IgG antibodies using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Questionnaires and statistical analysis were used to determine the risk factors for T. gondii infection. We also analysed PE scores of T. gondii -infected students and T. gondii-uninfected students. Results The overall seroprevalence of T. gondii was 11.5%. The main risk factors related to T. gondii infection in college students were cat in the household and gardening or agriculture activity. Furthermore, in the basketball group and the soccer group, scores of T. gondii seropositive students were significantly higher than those of seronegative students, while in other sports there was no difference between scores of T. gondii-infected students and T. gondii uninfected students. Conclusion This is the first report of T. gondii seroprevalence in college students in Anhui province, China.

Chapter 26 investigates the mechanisms that underlie children’s health-related behaviours and the way in which physical activity interacts with genetic factors, which may help improve our understanding of how and why children become obese and develop cardiovascular risk factors, how these children should be treated, and ultimately how the development of cardiovascular risk in childhood can be prevented.

The article deals with the issue of education of strong-willed qualities in high school boys at school students in physical education classes. The role of the physical culture teacher in solving this issue is shown, since not only the improvement of the muscular and musculoskeletal system of the student takes place in the lesson, but also the formation of his personality. Taking care of the education of strong — willed qualities in students greatly contributes to their preparation for work, for service in the army.
