Motivation is a great stimuli for learning (Schmid, Palminteri, Lafargue, & Pessiglione, 2010) and learning a second language involves integrative and instrumental motivation (Curral & Marques- Quenterio, 2009). Influences of motivation in interior Sindh, Pakistan, speak volumes of factors. This study investigates the motivation of collegiate students at Government Degree College Mehar for learning English as a second language. Furthermore, to know the factors instrumental or integrative that motivated students for learning English language, the quantitative design was employed to conduct the research. The questionnaire encompasses 20 close ended items which were adapted from Gardener’s AMTB. The questionnaire is based on 5 point Likert scale, and the data were collected from 180 participants at Government Degree College Mehar. Data were analyzed through SPSS. The findings reveal that highest mean of the item number (1) is (4.73) and it reflects participants are instrumentally motivated whereas they are less integrative motivated. The parental influence has also shown positive results. As it is evident from the item number (11) that excelled in mean of the above item as (4.21). The parental encouragement has boosted the interest as well as confidence of the children for learning English language. The students’ over all attitude for learning English language is found greater in the mean item number (9) as (4.42) which all support that instrumental motivation plays major role for learning English at Government Degree College Mehar. The study recommends that functional and practical courses should be added in syllabi to enable students to achieve their instrumental aim and objectives.

Objectives of the present study were to translate and validate the Revised Adult Attachment scale -RAAS (Collins, 1996) from English language to Urdu language by using Brislin (1976) forward-back translation procedure and committee approach. Convenient sampling technique was used. Age ranges of the participants were varying from 19 to 25 years (M = 20.63, SD = 1.21). Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient of Urdu RAAS was found α = .88. Results of cross language validation indicates highly significant positive relationship ranges varying from r = .24 (p < .001) to r = .66 (p < .001). Inter-item total correlation ranged from r = .62 (p < .001) to r = .34 (p < .001). Factor loading were from .28 to .68. Item number 1, 2 and 4 was deleted by the confirmatory factor analysis as it showed <.2 factor loading. Finial Urdu translated version of RAAS was consisted of 15 items instead of 18. It was concluded that the Urdu translated version of RAAS is a reliable and valid tool to measure the attachment patterns of Pakistani adults. Implications of the study were discussed in cultural context.

This study aims to reveal students' mathematical creative thinking skills which include indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality by describing students' answers in solving cube and block problems. This research was conducted on the superior grade VIII students of MTsN 1 Makassar, totaling 39 students. The research subjects were taken as many as 6 people using the criteria for high, medium, and low group levels, every 2 students at each level. The instrument used is a creative thinking ability test, which consists of 4 items of description with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the students' mathematical creative thinking skills including the three indicators were very good based on the percentage value of each indicator being above 50%. In the fluency indicator, the percentage value is 100% for item number 1 and 95.83% for question number 2, the percentage value of the flexibility indicator for item number 2 and 4 is 95.83% and 91.67%, respectively, and the percentage value of the novelty indicator is questions number 2 and 4 are 75% and 70.83%, respectively. From the three indicators above, the percentage value of students' creative thinking ability is low when compared to the other two indicators, this shows that students are less able to produce unusual answers/ideas and the suitability of the answers given is very irrelevant to the problem.

Background: Self-harming behavior (SHB) is an iceberg phenomenon commonly occurred in both normal population and patients with mental illness. This behavior showed an increase in trend and may develop into suicidal behavior if not treated properly. Therefore an effort in screening and prevention of self-harm is necessary to prevent early deaths caused by suicide. Currently Indonesian version of self-harm screening instrument has not been developed yet.Purpose: Conducting validity and reliability test of Indonesian version of self-harm questionnaire.Method: This research was a descriptive analytic study with cross-sectional design. We recruited 110 psychiatric outpatients from Bantul Hospital Yogyakarta (n=110). SHB was measured using Indonesian version of Self Harm Inventory (SHI). Internal validation was tested using Aiken's Validity Index (AVI) and Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). Reliability was tested using Cronbach Alpha (CA). Statistical significance was defined as p<0,05.Result: The respondents consisted of 57 men (51.8%) and 53 women (48.2%). Twenty four respondents had done more than 5 items of SHB. AVI value ranged from 0.83 to 0.97 which considered good. PPMC obtained 21 valid items with correlation coefficient >0.25 (p <0.05). Item number 22 was excluded because coefficient value was <0.25. Rresult of Keizer Meyers Oklin was 0,686 and Barlett Test of Spherecity 0,000 (p <0,05). CA was 0.831 which means very good. Conclusion: Indonesian version of Self-Harm Inventory is a valid and reliable screening tool against self-harm behavior in clinical setting.
