The development of the educational paradigm in the 21st century emphasizes learning oriented to higher-order thinking skills, one of them is metacognitive skills. This study aims to improve the metacognitive skills of students through a guided inquiry learning model based on blended learning in reaction rate material. The research design used is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research was conducted in class XI MIPA 5 SMAN 2 Pamekasan. The data were obtained using the observation sheet instrument for the implementation of the learning model, the activities of the students, and the metacognitive skills test sheet. Data analysis was performed using the percentage, mean, n-gain, and paired t-test techniques. The results showed that 1) Guided inquiry learning model based on blended learning is carried out well with an average percentage of phase 1 of 94.88%, phase 2 of 100%, phase 3 of 97.92%, phase 4 of 98.44% and phase 5 of 96.88%, 2) The percentage of students' activities who are actively involved and relevant to guided inquiry learning model based on blended learning is 87.41%, 3) The metacognitive skills of students have increased in terms of the n-gain range, namely 0.53 - 0.62 with the medium category, dan 4) there is a significant difference in the results of metacognitive skills between before and after being given a guided inquiry learning model based on blended learning. The results showed that the guided inquiry learning model based on blended learning was effective in improving students' metacognitive skills

Constructive controversy and guided inquiry corresponding to the tetrahedral representation chemistry learning viewed from critical thinking ability AbstractChemical subject of solubility and solubility product constant (Ksp) is one of the materials that is difficult so it needs critical thinking ability. Learning innovation to improve critical thinking skill is very important. This research aimed to determine: (1) the influence of implementing Constructive Controversy (CC) and guided inquiry learning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation towards students achievement on Ksp subject matter; (2) the influence of the student’s critical thinking ability towards students achievement on Ksp subject matter; and (3) the interaction between implementing CC and guided inquiry learning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation with critical thinking ability towards students achievement on Ksp subject matter. This research was quasi experiment research with factorial design of 2x2. The results show that: (1) there is no influence of implementing CC and guided inquiry learning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation towards students achievement of cognitive, affective, and phycomotor aspect on Ksp subject matter; (2) there is an influence of the student’s critical thinking ability towards student’s achievement of cognitive aspect while there is no influence of critical thinking ability toward student’s achievement of affective and phycomotor aspect on Ksp subject matter; (3) there is no interaction between implementing CC and guided inquirylearning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation with  critical thinking ability towards students achievement of cognitive, affective, and phycomotor aspect on Ksp subject matter.

Islamic values have been recognized as the positive values need to be integrated in enhancing learning competencies including problem-solving skills. This study aimed to determine the influence of learning inquiry model based on Islamic values toward problem-solving skills of tenth-grade students in Bandar Lampung. This quasi-experimental research used posttest only control group design. The treatment for the experimental group used guided inquiry learning model based on Islamic values, whereas the direct instruction learning model was applied in control group. The students’ problem-solving skills data were collected using a test. The data was analyzed using independent samples t-test. The results showed that there was a significant influence of guided inquiry learning model based on Islamic values toward students’ problem-solving skills, t(58) = 2.807, p < .05. The integration of Islamic values in the biology learning process can promote students’ problem-solving skills. Therefore guided inquiry learning model based on Islamic values can be an alternative model in empowering students’ problem-solving skills.
