AbstractComputational methods accelerate the drug repurposing pipelines that are a quicker and cost-effective alternative to discovering new molecules. However, there is a paucity of web servers to conduct fast, focussed, and customized investigations for identifying new uses of old drugs. We present the NOD web server, which has the mentioned characteristics. NOD uses a sensitive sequence-guided approach to identify close and distant homologs of a protein of interest. NOD then exploits this evolutionary information to suggest potential compounds from the DrugBank database that can be repurposed against the input protein. NOD also allows expansion of the chemical space of the potential candidates through similarity searches. We have validated the performance of NOD against available experimental and/or clinical reports. In 65.6% of the investigated cases in a control study, NOD is able to identify drugs more effectively than the searches made in DrugBank. Nowadays, much research attention is focused on human–computer interaction (HCI), specifically in terms of biosignal, which has been recently used for the remote controlling to offer benefits especially for disabled people or protecting against contagions, such as coronavirus. In this paper, a biosignal type, namely, facial emotional signal, is proposed to control electronic devices remotely via emotional vision recognition. The objective is converting only two facial emotions: a smiling or nonsmiling vision signal captured by the camera into a remote control signal. The methodology is achieved by combining machine learning (for smiling recognition) and embedded systems (for remote control IoT) fields. In terms of the smiling recognition, GENKl-4K database is exploited to train a model, which is built in the following sequenced steps: real-time video, snapshot image, preprocessing, face detection, feature extraction using HOG, and then finally SVM for the classification. The achieved recognition rate is up to 89% for the training and testing with 10-fold validation of SVM. In terms of IoT, the Arduino and MCU (Tx and Rx) nodes are exploited for transferring the resulting biosignal remotely as a server and client via the HTTP protocol. Promising experimental results are achieved by conducting experiments on 40 individuals who participated in controlling their emotional biosignals on several devices such as closing and opening a door and also turning the alarm on or off through Wi-Fi. The system implementing this research is developed in Matlab. It connects a webcam to Arduino and a MCU node as an embedded system.

The romote intelligent home system design based on WAVECOM Q2406B Module and ARM7 S3C44B0X was elaborated, GPRS technology was used to realize remote control, RS485 bus technique was used to net the home system, and embedded system was used to establish the developing platform of Home Intelligent controller which can realize intelligent management and control of home applications. Partial hardware electric diagram and software flowchart were provided. Field using indicates that this system is economical and flexible.

To solve the problem that artificial visual acuity measuring efficiency is low in hospital and school,and waste of resources,this design introduces an intelligent vision test instrument.The instrument is controlled by Embedded system [1,2], including the power supply circuit, a wireless remote control circuit module,LED display circuit,digital display circuit,a voice circuit etc.Beginning of vision test after audio prompt.This time the LED random light under every line in the standard visual acuity chart.The test selects the direction of wireless remote control rocker of "up", "down", "left", "right"through the "E" the opening direction on standard visual acuity chart.Data is transmitted to the Embedded system,after data processing,to judge whether he is right and wrong,and then displayed.Intelligent vision testing instrument can achieve the anticipated goal,finally complete the design and production, The overall structure of the circuit device is simple, stable performance, the test results meet the requirements.

This paper describes the design and implementation of Web based secure embedded system, including tiny secure Web server, embedded system-based CGI library, and utilities for security, such as CAPTCHA program and mail sending program. The entire system is designed in C by the author of this paper on Linux platform with GNU tool chain. A Web based secure embedded application demo system is also designed to show the architecture and running effect. On the premise of implementing essential functions, the scale of the system is designed as small as possible therefore it is suitable not only for embedded Linux development on Web based applications but also for embedded system course teaching in colleges and universities. By some further extensions, it can also be used on development of general Web based MIS.

Taking S3C2440 processor as the core hardware platform, constructed the software system of based on Linux operating system on the hardware platform; Analysis the key technology of web server, select Boa as the embedded web server, Boa server and CGIC database successfully transplanted and run the static Webpage; The paper detailed analysis of the CGI technology and using C language to compile the CGI program to realize dynamic Web server, realize the use of the Web browser to the remote Web server access control function.
