Analysis of the Implementation of Information Exchange Algorithms in Social Networks

The article analyzes different approaches to the definition of «social networks» as technological complexes of organization and management of electronic information exchange among the subjects of social relations, united by common interests, information needs and skills. Based on the analysis of the scientific literature the essential characteristics of social networks that affect the formation and development of the adolescent's personality are revealed. Role of social networks at the present stage of development of society, which is manifested in the representation of interests not only of social groups but also of entire social groups, is defined in the article. The negative impact of social networks on the personality of the adolescent, which is manifested in the expansion of adolescents in cyberspace, the desire for independence and adulthood, selfexperimentation, which leads to risky activities both on the Internet and in real life are revealed. Concept of safe behavior in social networks as a set of actions of the individual when using the Internet, helping to meet the needs and at the same time prevent the possibility of causing damage to physical, mental, social well-being and property of man and others is analyzed. The basic rules of safe behavior in social Internet communities are highlighted. The structural components of safe behavior of adolescents in social networks are singled out: cognitive, motivational and actionreflexive; the concept of «professional training of future social professionals for the formation of safe behavior of adolescents in social networks» is revealed. Readiness is revealed as a result of the process of training future social specialists for professional activity on the formation of safe behavior of adolescents in social networks; the author's definition of the concept «readiness of future social professionals to form safe behavior of adolescents in social networks» is given. Components of readiness of future social workers to form safe behavior of teenagers in social networks, such as cognitive, motivational-personal and activity, are described.

Abstract Group navigation is of great importance for many animals, such as migrating flocks of birds or shoals of fish. One theory states that group membership can improve navigational accuracy compared to limited or less accurate individual navigational ability in groups without leaders (“Many-wrongs principle”). Here, we simulate leaderless group navigation that includes social connections as preferential interactions between individuals. Our results suggest that underlying social networks can reduce navigational errors of groups and increase group cohesion. We use network summary statistics, in particular network motifs, to study which characteristics of networks lead to these improvements. It is networks in which preferences between individuals are not clustered, but spread evenly across the group that are advantageous in group navigation by effectively enhancing long-distance information exchange within groups. We suggest that our work predicts a base-line for the type of social structure we might expect to find in group-living animals that navigate without leaders [Current Zoology 58 (2): 329–341, 2012].

Social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, are quickly becoming one of the most popular tools for social interaction and information exchange. Users of social networks reveal a lot about themselves in their public profiles, photos and status updates. While, social networks request users to create a truthful representation of themselves, they actually do so with a varying degree of accuracy. Depending on their privacy attitudes, the users may choose not to share details they find sensitive or tend to provide fake information. Contrary to a number of previous studies to predict the personality traits of the users of social networks primarily based on the users' profiles and other publically available information, this study provides an insight into the personality traits and psychopath behavior of twitter users by analyzing the tweets. The authors predict personality traits along the dimensions of “Big Five” personality model, gender and psychopath behavior of Twitter users. The paper discusses our data collection, gender, personality traits and psychopathic behavior prediction tool. It presents the analysis results of 327672 tweets of 345 users. The results show that there are more male users than the female users (70% male and 30% female). The results also show that majority of Twitter users are open to new ideas, are more agreeable and conscientious in nature but are less extravert. Out of 345 users, nine were indicating psychopath behavior and show less neuroticism. The authors also present a comparison of our personality traits' results with the results of two other similar studies.

Using Habermas’ theory of the public sphere, this article examines the potential of conversation-based programming (e.g. conversation groups and language cafes) in public libraries to bring immigrant voices into the public sphere and thereby to facilitate their political integration. To both support and illustrate the theoretical explorations of the article, research findings are presented from a study on language cafes and integration at Oslo and Akershus University College, Norway. Four ways in which the language cafes can support immigrants’ political integration and the formation of a comprehensive public sphere include the fostering of linguistic competence, expansion of social networks, promotion of information exchange relevant to political integration, and facilitation of ‘messy conversation’.

The integration of Ukraine into the world community has caused a significant increase in interest in learning foreign languages as a means of information exchange. The modern conditions of development, expansion and deepening of international contacts require a high level of foreign language proficiency from a future specialist, especially in a foreign language of professional direction. High demands to the quality of education provision for the informatization of society. The high level of proficiency in a foreign language of a professional direction allows the future specialist to compete adequately not only in the domestic labor market but also abroad. It is promoted by the informatization of the educational process. It determined the relevance of the research problem. The study aims to establish the effectiveness of informatization of the foreign languages learning process of professional communication; to bring the feasibility of using social networks, cloud messengers, educational platforms in preparing future specialists for professional communication in a foreign language environment. The research methodology uses several methods. The main method in the study is the method of pedagogical experiment, also used the method of questioning, observation, to consider the theoretical material uses descriptive method, as well as methods of synthesis and analysis. The main hypothesis of the study is that the application of the educational potential of social networks, platforms, messengers, quizzes is an effective method of training a specialist with a high level of foreign language proficiency in the professional sphere. The result of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of the informatization process at the level of involvement of social networks, messengers to form a high level of foreign language proficiency as per profession. In the future, it is envisaged to study the application of informatization of the educational space during the teaching of a foreign language of professional communication.

A social network represents a set of social entities that interact through relationships like friendship, co-working, or information exchange. Social Network Analysis studies the patterns of relationships among social entities and can be used to understand and improve group processes. The arrival of new communication tools and networking platforms, especially the Web 2.0 Social Networking Services, opened new opportunities to explore the power of social networks inside and outside organizations. This chapter surveys the basic concepts of social networks methods, approaches, tools, and services. In particular, this chapter analyzes state-of-the-art social networks, explaining how useful Social Network Analysis can be in different contexts and how social networks can be represented, extracted, and analyzed in information systems.
