One of the promising areas of development and perfection of the musical art of pop is the widespread deployment of information and communication (computer) technologies into the practice of learning variety singing. The best “educational toolkit” in this process would be to include specialized electronic educational resources – programs designed to optimize the work with the voice, to improve the effectiveness of the training of pop singer. The article focuses on classifying these kinds of educational resources, describing their functions and selection criteria. Methodical requirements for the preparation of a pop singer with the use of electronic educational resources are formulated, taking into account their pedagogical potential and the basic professional characteristics of learning variety singing. The functions performed in the educational process by electronic educational resources, which may be used as a kind of reference material in the practice of learning variety singing, are systematic. In general, it is shown that electronic educational resources involve different forms of educational content and pedagogical interaction, complement and expand the possibilities of traditional learning of variety singing, thereby contributing to the development and improvement of the performing skills of students.

Video lessons are one of the main teaching resources in distance learning, representing video recordings of educational content. In the conditions of forced transfer of schools to distance learning in an emergency regime, teachers had to face this challenge, without regard to their degree of readiness to develop digital educational resources. The paper describes various features of video lessons, the professional skills that teachers must demonstrate, criteria for evaluating digital educational resources. Some aspects related to the quality of video lessons, placed in the public domain and intended for students and teachers in pre-university education are discussed.

The goal of this paper is to summarize and sort out the key elements that determine the effectiveness and efficiency of educational interactive content in mathematics in the context of the digitalization of the educational process. On the basis of many years of research and practical activity in the field of studying and developing electronic educational resources in mathematics, characterizing school mathematics education from the standpoint of innovative processes, key elements of the concept of constructing interactive educational content in mathematics were formulated, which make it possible to determine the right vectors for applying efforts and using the capabilities of ICT in developing such content. The author’s result of this work is the foundation for creating interactive educational resources in mathematics that correspond to modern trends and achievements in the field of digitalization of children’s education, and is based on a combination of the achievements of traditional psychological and pedagogical science and best practices based on the analysis of big data for building user scenarios with digital systems and services.

The paper addresses several starting suppositions and principles to be taken in consideration when designing electronic educational resources (EER) and integrating thereof in the educational process. Some of the most common approaches to interpreting the notions of EER didactic functions, capacities and features are analyzed. In the light of up-to-date goals of education the author highlights three didactic functions of EER: to extend (enrich) the educational content; to introduce new kinds of educational activities and to improve traditional educational activities performance; to personalize the educational process itself. Given the mentioned didactic functions, structural composition of EER didactic capacities and features have been augmented. The case study is presented to exemplify interrelation of EER didactic functions, capacities and features with the goals of educational activities, kinds of educational activities, and atomic actions, aimed at meeting educational goals.

Frequently, the process of learning mathematics is reduced to the memorization of concepts or algorithms solution. This fact does not allow mathematics to be really understood, causing a certain displeasure for learning it. This chapter aims to describe the experience of a group of students using an OER for vector learning and its applications. The apps used promote learning because students establish a direct relationship between at least two types of three proposed registers. They are numerical, geometric, and verbal. It was possible to identify two basic operations of conversion and transference between two registers, as well as an evolution in the reasoning process from the natural discursive process to the theoretical discursive process. This resource has been created, stored, and distributed under the scheme of open educational content, with the purpose of promoting open education through gamification in order to facilitate the knowledge and motivation for learning mathematics.

In this study, we explore linguistic constructions of gender in US sports reportage concerning two related basketball altercations: the Pacers–Pistons NBA fight in 2004 and the Shock–Sparks WNBA fight in 2008. We use a combined corpus and qualitative textual analysis to investigate coverage from the days immediately following the fights and to compare that coverage to sports reportage more generally. Our analysis reveals key differences in narrative focus; for example, that NBA coverage is most interested in blame assignation in the isolated event, while WNBA coverage concerns gender and the league writ large. Such patterns, which are realised linguistically in both explicit and implicit ways, contribute to the ‘othering’ of women and women athletes in the increasingly important sports-media-commercial complex.
