The development of a teaching material must be based on the analysis of student needs. Development of teaching materials have to be able to answer or solve problems or difficulties in learning. This study aims to know the development of writing folk poetry teaching material according to the materials expert team with copy the master technique for seventh grade student of junior high school 1 Rantau Selatan, in Labuhan Batu District. This study was conducted by using Probability Sampling technique. The result shows that all teachers and students need modules in the learning process. Teaching material products developed in folk poetry writing materials with copy the master learning technique for seventh grade students of junior high school 1 Rantau Selatan meet the requirements and are appropriate to use based on the validation of material experts and design experts.

This research is based on the students’ motivation in studying English. It intends to prove that students can improve their motivation and it is seen in their achievement in their study. The purpose of this research is to prove that this method is effective in order to improve students’ motivation to learn English. This research is conducted at SMP Negeri 11 Bitung. The subject of this research is a seventh-grade student of SMP Negeri 11 Bitung consisted of 24 students. The design of this research is a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data are collected through multiple choice as an instrument and with questionnaires and interviews to support the data. In analyzing the data writers use percentage formula. The result of this research shows that the score of the post-test is higher (72.09%) than the score of the pre-test (44.16%). Based on the fact of the result of this research, it can be concluded that the Audio-lingual method is effective to be applied in class to improve students’ motivation in studying English. Keywords: Teaching; Motivation; Audio-lingual method.

This study aimed to find out empirical data, to see using picture strategy effective in improving students’ reading skill at seventh-grade student of SMP Negeri 8 Seluma. The sample of this study was 62 students taken from the first grade of SMP Negeri 8 Seluma, the students were 31 students of VII-A, as experiment class and 31 students from VII-B, as control class. The method which was used in this study was a quantitative method and the design used in this study was an experiment design. The data collected in this research were analyzed by using t-test. According to the result of statistical calculation, the obtained value of (t-observation) is 2.67 and the value of “tt” (t table) from the df (60) on the degree of significance of 5% is 2.01. Comparing to the with each value of the degree of significance, the writer finds 2.67 > 2.04. So too is higher than tt or to > tt. The finding of this study it can be concluded that using the picture in teaching reading skill is quite a success by using Picture. It is not only effective to lead students to feel more interesting and enjoy doing activity in the class but also it can give the students the opportunities to be active in teaching a Reading skill.

The aim of this research is to comprehensively  describing readability of Bahasa Indoesia’s students text book. The books is “Buku Siswa Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VII” revision edition 2014,  published by Ministry of Education and Culture. Research was conducted with descriptive quantitative design. All of text in the text book (38 article) was taken as sample, and analysed using Fry Graph formula.  The result of analysis shown, more than a half of all text (52%) is suitable for seventh grade student. While, 18 text  (48%) is not suitable one.
