Road safety awareness is a important element subject in which also involved school students. The school students are the most prone group of that become the victims of the road accidents. This study is carried out to identify the road safety awareness, knowledge, driving attitudes among secondary school students in Parit Raja, Johor. The study was involved a total of 298 school students as respondents. The questionnaires were distributed and the data were processed using descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation and regression analyses. The descriptive analysis shows, more than half of respondents are those aged 16 years old. About 76.5% of them do not have the driving license. The result also shows that the road safety awareness among the students is at quite high level (mean score = 3.57). Next, t-test and regression analysis shows that every 1% increase in road safety awareness will affect 35.0% of increase to driving attitude among students (p<0.05, β = 0.35). Besides that, the factor analysis, items in the variable of Road Safety Factor shows that there are three methods of road safety are identified; Environment of Highway, Uses of Highway and Law of Road Safety. Therefore, road safety awareness and driving attitudes are the important factors to ensure the road user concern to road safety. However, some improvements to the existing road facility or road safety deficiencies in Parit Raja need to be undertaken to ensure the road is safer to others.

This study is an attempt to know the vocational interest of the secondary school students. The sample consisted of 120 students of class 9th. That is 60 male and 60 female. Vocational interest was measured by “Vocational Interest Inventory” (Jansari). The data was analyzed by using ‘t’ test. The results reveal that male students are more interested in enterprising fields of vocation than female students.

Entrepreneurship skills are the skills of the students and they need to be flexible so that the skills are always used as well as to produce students with entrepreneurial determination. The entrepreneurship skills highlighted in this study are knowledge, creativity and social relationships. This paper aims to describe the students' entrepreneurial skills and to identify whether there is a relationship between entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial determination amongst secondary school students (SMKA). The study used a questionnaire as a research instrument and involved 196 students in SMKA were selected by strata process. The results of the data analyzed found that the overall level of entrepreneurship skills and entrepreneurship skills of SMKA students was at a high level. This clearly shows that SMKA students have a good level of entrepreneurial skills due to the more manageable school environment. The findings show that SMKA students also have a high commitment to become future entrepreneurs.

This study aimed at finding the effect of self control (SC) on deviant behavior (DB) of Students. The approach of the study was quantitative. Causal comparative research design was used to investigate the effect of self control on students’ deviance. Students (8940) of grade 9th and 10th of all public schools of Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) constituted the population of this study. Data were collected from 470 students of Mirpur, AJK. Out of them there were 291 males and 179 were females. Two scales, SC Scale originally developed by Grasmick et al., (1993) and Normative Deviance Scale by Vazsonyi et al., (2001) were adapted to measure the SC and DB of the students respectively. Descriptive statistics, t-test and linear regression were applied to analyze the data. Results of the study found a low level of SC and high level of DB among the secondary school students. Female were more SC led as compared to the males whereas male showed more DB than females. Regression analysis showed that SC has significant positive effect on the DB and it brings 49.8% variability in the DB of the secondary school students. It was recommended that SC related activities should be added into the curriculum at primary level as this is the best age for the development of SC into the students. Workshops and seminars should be held at Secondary Schools to bring awareness on the benefits of SC for the teachers and students.

Transference of the bookish knowledge is not enough for effective teaching so teaching should be supplemented with new teaching models or new emerging technology. However, do the students give importance to teaching aids for better instruction and learning? is the concerned area. This question is answered in this study by identifying the importance of teaching aids from students’ perspectives. Data were collected through the questionnaires from secondary school students (aged 14-15 years). Collected data were analysed by employing frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Findings indicated that teaching aids bring accuracy to get first-hand knowledge for obtaining the desirable objectives among students. Students’ learning becomes easy, quick and long-lasting as these aids leave high level of impressions on students’ mind and behaviour eventually. Teaching aids are helpful for teaching difficulty and complex concepts. No one can deny the importance of teaching aids in students’ learning. This study urges more practice of technology aids in teaching and training process either being practiced formally or non-formally.

The rise of technology has influenced the education field much. It creates the popularity of online material which can help students in the teaching and learning process. One of it is a web comic, a comic or cartoon published on the internet for everyone to view can be a unique gateway medium to explore visual narrative or story. It is one of the online materials which can attract students especially teenager to read and comprehend the message without feeling bored and realize that they study English. This study aimed to find out whether using Islamic Web Comics is effective in teaching English especially reading comprehension at Islamic secondary school in the Indonesian context. This study is a quasi-experimental with pretest and posttest design; two homogenous groups were selected as experimental and control group. Descriptive analysis and Independent t-test were used for analyzing the data obtained. The result showed that the mean score of the post-test score of the experimental class was 70.88 and control class was 64.69. It was obtained that t-test result was 2.26 higher (2.26 >1.99). It means Islamic Web Comics as visual aid was more effective in teaching English especially reading comprehensions than animated video presentation.

Purpose – In the present century the need and importance of understanding the emotional intelligence of the learner has been grown among the educationists. This is especially true and more prevalent in professions that require the employees to be highly emotionally intelligent such as in the teaching profession. In this study Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement of secondary school students was probed to find the relationship between and among Emotional nature, School climate and outcomes of standard IX and X students. Methodology - In this study the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, School Environment Scale (SES) is used. The investigator used stratified random sampling technique for selecting the sample. The study will adopt a Normative Survey Method. The variables studied are the Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement. Emotional Intelligence Scale developed and validated by the Balasubramanain and Shanty in 2005 is used for the study. Further School Environment questionnaire developed and validated by the Shanty Jose 2009 is used for the study. The academic achievement scores obtained by the student is used for analysing the learning outcome. Findings - Finding shows from the study shows that there is a high level of Emotional Intelligence, school environment and academic achievement of secondary school students. No significant differences found between and among Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement with respect to the variables gender, class, type of institutions, locality and medium of instruction. There is a significant relationship exists between and among Emotional Intelligence, school environment and academic achievement and its sub variables. Significance - Emotion as the basis of all behaviours and activities and so is directly related to all human nature and achievements. Emotions are source of motivation, source of learning,source of strength and endurance to body. Emotional intelligence is being able to understand one's one behaviour and to use this to guide their action. Understanding the emotional intelligence of learner will help to analyse the academic performance of individual learner and to provide them useful support.

The purposes of this research are: 1) to study the creative learning in social studies to promote productive citizenship of secondary school students; and 2) to design the guidelines for such learning. This research implements the methodology of action research, consisting of 8 samples: 1) 1 school principal and 2 social studies teachers; and 2) 5 learning management experts. The samples are chosen by the purposive sampling method. Research tools consist of 1) unstructured interview form; and 2) appropriateness assessment form for the guidelines of creative learning in social studies to promote productive citizenship of secondary school students. Methods of data analysis consists of content analysis, and descriptive analysis, in addition to calculation of the means and standard deviation. Study results revealed that: 1. Creative learning in social studies to promote productive citizenship of secondary school students consists of the development of 4 minds, including: 1) critical mind; 2) creative mind; 3) productive mind; and 4) responsible mind. And 2. The guidelines of creative learning in social studies to promote productive citizenship of secondary school students consist of 4 subjects and 8 learning management plans. The effectiveness of the guidelines in terms of the learning management was evaluated as excellent.

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menilai tahap kemahiran kefahaman mendengar bahasa Arab di kalangan pelajar sekolah menengah agama negeri. Reka bentuk kajian yang digunakan dalam kajian ini ialah kaedah tinjauan semasa. Sebanyak lima aspek kefahaman mendengar bahasa Arab yang dinilai dalam kajian ini. Lima aspek kefahaman mendengar tersebut ialah; (i) kefahaman mendengar bunyi bahasa Arab; (ii) kefahaman mendengar makna perkataan secara leksikal; (iii) kefahaman mendengar makna perkataan secara kontekstual; (iv) kefahaman mendengar teks secara literal; dan (v) kemahiran mendengar teks secara inferential. Kajian ini dijalankan di sekolah–sekolah menengah agama negeri di Kelantan. Keputusan menunjukkan subkemahiran pertama berada pada tahap tinggi; subkemahiran kedua dan ketiga berada pada tahap sederhana; dan subkemahiran keempat dan kelima berada pada tahap lemah. Kata kunci: kemahiran kefahaman mendengar, sub–sub kemahiran kefahaman mendengar, bahasa Arab The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of Arabic listening comprehension among state religious secondary school students. There were five aspects of Arabic listening comprehension, which were evaluated in this study. The research design which was used in this study was cross sectional survey. The five aspects of Arabic listening comprehension were; (i) Arabic sound; (ii) word meaning lexically; (iii) word meaning contextually; (iv) texts meaning literally; and (v) texts meaning inferentially. This study was carried out at state religious secondary schools in Kelantan. The results showed the first sub skills was at a high level, the second and third sub skills was at a moderate level, and the fourth and fifth sub skills was at a weak level. This study aims at investigating the problems which have been encountered by higher secondary schools students when they try to learn English pronunciation. The problem of this study is that most of the higher secondary school students in Sudan produced incorrect pronunciation for many of English words. So this study is attempted to deal with problem to find the most suitable solutions for it. The participants are Sudanese students of higher secondary schools especially at Shikan locality in Northern Kordofan State. The researcher uses the descriptive analytical approach because it is suitable for such studies. The data of this study is collected by means of recording test and questionnaire. The findings showed that the problems of pronunciation are the result of many teaching difficulties, and the strategies of teaching pronunciation are helpful in producing correct speech pronunciation. Finally the researcher recommends that: Sudanese EFL learners, who are specialized in ELT, should obtain a high level of intelligibility, and the language laboratory should exist in all the higher secondary schools to practice phonetic exercises.
