Maternal sepsis is one of the main contributors to maternal mortality worldwide. Malaysia has the least number of cases associated with maternal sepsis in 2015. However, the number of cases has increase by eight cases in 2017 as stated by the Family Health Development Division Ministry of Health Malaysia. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice on maternal sepsis and its associated factors among mothers in Kuantan,Pahang.  A cross sectional study design with convenience sampling were applied to 100 respondents among mothers based on specific criteria. From the findings, the majority of the mothers in Kuantan has good level of knowledge (52%), whereas the level of attitude was moderate (85%). In addition, the finding shows that the level of practice among mothers in Kuantan was excellent (76%). Maternal knowledge significantly associated with the age of the mother with p = 0.007. There was a significant correlation between knowledge and attitude    (r = 0.433, p = less than 0.001) and knowledge with practice (r = 0.236, p = 0.018). While attitude and practice (r = 0.194, p = 0.053) showed no significant correlation. This study shows that the mothers in Kuantan, Pahang had good level of knowledge, moderate attitude towards maternal sepsis and excellent practice in preventing maternal sepsis. Continues education on maternal sepsis and other risk factors of maternal mortality should be done especially to young mothers in order to control and reduce the the rates of maternal mortality. Furthermore, this can be a benchmark initiative to achieve the targets in reducing maternal mortality rate in Malaysia as outlined under sustainable development goals 3 (SDG3).

Background: In many parts of the world, midwives are the primary providers of care for childbearing women. There are considerable variations in the organisation of midwifery services and in the education and role of midwives. Childbearing women are often faced with different opinions as to which option might be best for them. The midwife‐led continuity model of care is based on the premise that pregnancy and birth are normal life events. Pregnancy and birth are significant life events for women and their families and midwife supports a woman throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. So, the demand for services that are family friendly, women focused, safe and accessible is increasing. Objectives: 1) To assess the existing knowledge regarding mid-wife led continuity of care model on final year nursing students. 2) To evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching on knowledge regarding mid-wife led continuity of care model (MLCC) on final year nursing students. 3) To find out the association between knowledge regarding mid-wife led continuity of care model (MLCC) with selected demographic variables. Materials and Methods: In this study, evaluatory research approach and one group pre-test post-test research design was used. The study was conducted at a Selected Nursing College. The sample was collected from final year nursing students (120) by using non-probability convenient sampling technique. Results: In this study the study of the findings shows that 10.83% had good level of knowledge score in pre-test. While in post-test, out of 120 subjects the majority of the subjects and 92.50% had good level of knowledge score. This statistically shows that there is profound level of improvement on knowledge. Conclusion: Hence, this implies that the planned teaching was effective.  Also, the study shows that the knowledge scores of final year nursing students is associated with the age in year and course of study. Hence, this means that greater the number of age in years and the course, greater level of knowledge scores. However, gender was not found to be associated.

In order to obtain better productivity and a good level of secondary metabolites for cultivating plants with organic residues, it is necessary to define the method of application and the best combination considering plant density. Our objective was to study the influence of the plant arrangement and methods of application of poultry manure in the soil over agroeconomic performance and the antioxidant activity of the hibiscus. Treatments in the field consisted of two plant arrangements (single or double rows, both with 0.50 meters between plants) and four methods of application of poultry manure to the soil [incorporating (10 t ha-1), mulching (10 t ha-1), mulching (5 t ha-1) + incorporating (5 t ha-1) and a control—no poultry manure] and, in the laboratory, antioxidant activity in relation to the treatments in the field and preparation methods (maceration or infusion). Treatments were arranged in randomized blocks of 2 × 4 with four replicates. The greatest production of dried calyx (0.68 t ha-1) and of capsules (1.32 t ha-1), the greatest number of fruits (2.10 million ha-1) and the greatest net income (R$ 36,115.42) resulted of plants cultivated in single rows with the poultry manure covering the crops. The antioxidant activity of the hibiscus calyces showed no variation in relation with field treatments or with the method of preparation. Cultivation in single rows covered with poultry manure is adequate for the hibiscus plant.
