The aim of this paper is an empirical analysis of mortgage volume in the Czech Republic and factors identification of the increasing trend of the mortgage volume in the period from 2001 to 2007. Firstly, analysis of quarterly time series of mortgage volume and average mortgage rate are performed. Consequently, causality between mortgage volume and average mortgage rate is analysed. The morgage rate is the most important factor for economic subjects decision of residential investment. Afterwards, it is analysed causality between mortgage volume and selected factors via multiple regression analysis. Based on this analysis, influencing factors for multiple regression analysis describing mortgage volume are selected. Our empirical analysis validate the causality between mortgage volume and mortgage rate, unemployment rate and price level of real estates. Part of this paper is also economic eduction of causality and estimation of expect progress of mortgage volume especially in connection with present economic and business recession.

Based on the characteristics of the e-commerce industry, this paper proposes the conception of operating intensity and explores the relationships between R&D intensity, operating intensity and firms’ performance. Multiple regression analysis approach is adopted based on the unbalanced panel dataset of global e-commerce listed companies in 49 countries in 2001-2015. Our findings suggest that suitable R&D intensity contributes positively to e-commerce firms’ performance, and with a lag. Operating intensity contributes an inverted U shape to e-commerce firms’ performance. We also find that interaction between R&D and operating intensity’s effects on firms’ performance is positively significant in global samples. In Group 7 sample, R&D intensity contributes positively to e-commerce firms’ performance, but BRICS sample’s is negative. Operating intensity contributes positively to firms’ performance both in Group 7 sample and BRICS sample. Marginal utility of operating intensity on firms’ performance in Group 7 sample is bigger than in BRICS. The results imply that R&D investment of e-commerce listed companies in BRIC countries has not converted to benefit, however it drags down the firms’ performance.

The Phillips curve was supposed to mean an expansion of the doctrine based on the original regulatory ideas of J. M. Keynes. At the time of its inception (1950s), it gave governments theoretical hope, coming from the possibility of choosing a negative correlation between the price level (P) and the product (Y). Her early denial (at least in the short term) by Milton Friedman, on the other hand, has not changed anything about other applications that are still relevant until present time. In the fact, advantage of Phillips curve is her ability based on broad-spectrum use for any type of national economy. The aim of this work is to determine the shape of the Phillips curve for the Czech Republic in the period from 2000 to the present and to compare its shape with the shape of the original Phillips curve. The method of regression analysis is used here, comparison and prediction are performed using time series. In this paper, we find out what the short-term Phillips curve looks like for the Czech Republic, that it does not coincide with the original Phillips curve, and that in the future we can count on a growing correlation between inflation and unemployment.

This study investigates the trend in monthly and annual rainfall, minimum and maximum temperature (Tmin and Tmax) using the Mann–Kendall (MK) test and Sen’s slope (SS) method and evaluates the significance of their variability for maize, sorghum and millet yields in northern Togo employing multiple regression analysis. The historical data of Kara, Niamtougou, Mango and Dapaong weather stations from 1977 to 2012 were used. Four non-parametric methods—Alexandersson’s Standard Normal Homogeneity Test (SNHT), Buishand’s Range Test (BRT), Pettitt’s Test (PT) and Von Neumann’s Ratio Test (VNRT)—were applied to detect homogeneity in the data. For the data which were serially correlated, a modified version of the MK test (pre-whitening) was utilised. Results showed an increasing trend in the annual rainfall in all four locations. However, this trend was only significant at Dapaong (p < 0.1). There was an increasing trend in Tmax at Kara, Mango and Niamtougou, unlike Dapaong where Tmax revealed a significant decreasing trend (p < 0.01). Similarly, there was an increasing trend in Tmin at Kara, Mango and Dapaong, unlike Niamtougou where Tmin showed a non-significant decreasing trend (p > 0.05). Rainfall in Dapaong was found to have increased (7.79 mm/year) more than the other locations such as Kara (2.20 mm/year), Niamtougou (4.57 mm/year) and Mango (0.67 mm). Tmax increased by 0.13, 0.13 and 0.32 °C per decade at Kara, Niamtougou and Mango, respectively, and decreased by 0.20 per decade in Dapaong. Likewise, Tmin increased by 0.07, 0.20 and 0.02 °C per decade at Kara, Mango and Dapaong, respectively, and decreased by 0.01 °C per decade at Niamtougou. Results of multiple regression analysis revealed nonlinear yield responses to changes in rainfall and temperature. Rainfall and temperature variability affects rainfed cereal crops production, but the effects vary across crops. The temperature has a positive effect on maize yield in Kara, Niamtougou and Mango but a negative effect on sorghum in Niamtougou and millet in Dapaong, while rainfall has a negative effect on maize yield in Niamtougou and Dapaong and millet yield in Mango. In all locations, rainfall and temperature variability has a significant effect on the cereal crop yields. There is, therefore, a need to adopt some adaptation strategies for sustainable agricultural production in northern Togo.

This research is aiming to analyze the effect of several factors such as Pertamax price, Pertalite price, income, year of vehicle and vehicle type on Pertamax fuel demand in Purwokerto and analyze which one is the most influencial factors on the Pertamax fuel demand using elasticity test. The data used in this research are primary data taken from 100 respondents all around Purwokerto then analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The result of multiple regression analysis indicated that income and vehicle type have significant effect on Pertamax fuel demand in Purwokerto while the other factors such as Pertamax price, Pertalite price and year of vehicle have no influence on Pertamax demand in Purwokerto. This research also indicated that vehicle type was the most influencial factors on Pertamax demand. From all the result that has been found, the result of regression shows that people in Purwokerto have a tendency to keep putting the quality at any price level set by the government. In this case government have to further intensify massively on advertising on good impact of Pertamax either for machine or environment and expected to improve better performance and quality either in terms of services on each gas station or oil distribution. Keywords: Demand, Pertamax Fuel, Gasoline Demand.

Kata kunci: deindustrialisasi, investasi, keterbukaan ekonomi, tingkat harga   ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze phenomenon of deindustrialization in Tangerang City and influencing factors. This study uses multiple regression analysis. The result of analysis shows that phenomenon of deindustrialization is occured in Tangerang City which is showed by decreasing of industry sector’s share to the economy of Tangerang City during period 2010-2018.  The result of estimation by using multiple regression analysis shows that economic openness significantly give positive influence to share of industry sector to the economy of Tangerang City. While, share of investment and price level significantly give negative influence to share of industry sector to the economy of Tangerang City. So, the effort to increase economic openness through export and import activity, increase non-building investment, and control price level to handle the phenomenon of deindustrialization in Tangerang City. Seaweed-Kappaphycus-Euchema Cottonii and Denticulum species was first cultivated at Sabah side of Sebatik in 2009. By November 2014, sixty one Sabahan seaweed farmers cultivated 122 ha or 3,050 long lines. Thirty Sabahan seaweed farmers in Kampung Pendekar (3.2 m.t dried) and 31 in Burst Point (12.5 m.t dried) produced 16 metric tonnes of dried seaweed contributed 31% to Tawau’s total production (51 m.t). The remaining 69% were from farmers in Cowie Bay that separates Sebatik from municipality of Tawau. Indonesian in Desa Setabu, Sebatik started in 2008. However, the number of Indonesian seaweed farmers, their cultivated areas and production (as well as quality) in Sebatik increased many times higher and faster than the Sabah side of Sebatik. In 2009 more than 1,401 households in Kabupaten Nunukan (including Sebatik) cultivated over 700 ha and have produced 55,098.95 and 116, 73 m.t dried seaweed in 2010 and 2011 respectively. There is a divergence in productions from farming the sea off the same island under similar weather conditions. Which of the eight explanatory factors were affecting production of seaweeds in Sebatik? Using Cobb Douglas production function, Multiple Regression analysis was conducted on 100 samples (50 Sabahan and 50 Indonesian).
