A recently developed equilibrium and equivalency (E2) mechanisms based curve fitting method is extended to surface fitting for linear function z = f (x, y) = a + bx + cy with two independent variables x and y. The concept of equilibrium of ‘force’ and ‘moment’ is adopted to derive surface fitting formulae, which are exactly the same as that obtained with traditional least squares (LS) method for the linear function. However, E2 method has obvious physical meaning and therefore is more intuitive in quickly and correctly identifying data pattern and subsequent data analysis. Furthermore, the formula based on perpendicular offsets method in terms of data variation along surface normal direction is derived and the results are compared with the traditional methods. Finally, the application of these methods to data of fatigue and creep lives is presented.

This study aims to examine the effect of Liquidity and Solvency on Profitability. The sample of this study was 10 consumption companies consisting of four cigarette companies (WIIM, GGRM, HMSP, RMBA) and six cosmetics companies (ADES, KINO, MBTO, MRAT, TCID, UNVR). Thus the research sample was found to be 40. The research variable used one dependent variable, namely profitability using the return on assets and two independent variables, namely liquidity using inventory to net working capital and current ratio and solvency using debt to equity ratio. This research uses descriptive data analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, regression analysis and data analysis using the SPSS application. The results showed that the Current Ratio did not significantly influence profitability. Inventory to Net Working Capital has a significant effect on profitability. Debt to Equity ratio has a significant effect on profitability. And Current Ratio, Inventory to Net Working Capital simultaneously have a significant effect on the profitability (ROA) of Consumption Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the 2015-2018 period. significant value0.002 <0.05

A recently developed equilibrium based curve/surface fitting method is extended to linear function with heteroscedastic data (variable variance). The concept of equilibrium weighted “force” and “moment” is proposed to derive curve fitting formulae, which are exactly the same as that obtained with the traditional weighted least squares (LS) method for a linear function. Furthermore, a system of four equations, i.e., a “force” equilibrium equation, a “moment” equilibrium equation, an “equivalency” equation, and a “moment balance” equation have been established to solve both mean curve and the standard deviation simultaneously. Finally, the application of these methods to data of fatigue and creep lives is presented.

Children, adolescents, adults, and pensioners were requested to collect books for either their own age group or any of the other age groups mentioned, in a 4X4 factorial design. Data analysis revealed main effects for both the age of the potential helper and recipient, as well as an interaction between these two independent variables. However, none of the age groups exhibited a tendency to help their own age group more than the other age groups. The findings' pattern is discussed in detail.
