Clostridium limosum can be found in soil and the intestinal tract of animals. In 2014, C. limosum was isolated from a suspected blackleg outbreak in cattle in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. We present a complete genome sequence of a C. limosum strain represented by a circular chromosome and three plasmids.

Bacillus megaterium, an industrial strain, has been widely used in protein production and the vitamin C industry. Here we reported a finished, annotated, and compared 4.14-Mbp high-quality genome sequence ofB. megateriumWSH-002, which is the companion strain forKetogulonicigenium vulgarein the vitamin C industry and is stocked in our laboratory.

ABSTRACT Bacillus anthracis is a zoonotic agent causing anthrax, a notifiable disease in animals. The last anthrax outbreak among cattle in Germany occurred in April 2014 in Saxony-Anhalt. Here we report a high-quality genome sequence of the Bacillus anthracis strain 14RA5914 Dobichau isolated from the spleen of a dead cow.

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense is the causal agent of banana Fusarium wilt, also known as Panama disease. Here, we present a high-quality genome sequence of F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense strain 160527. The genome assembly is composed of 12 contigs with a total assembly length of 51,139,495 bp (N 50 contig length, 4,884,632 bp).

ABSTRACT The genomic sequence was determined for Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. glycines strain 12609, isolated in Taiwan. Based on the genome sequence, we predicted the encoded genes, rRNA, tRNA, a plasmid sequence, secretion systems, cyclic GMP- and cyclic di-GMP-mediated pathways, and the gene cluster rpfABCHGDE (regulation of pathogenicity factor).

Serratia marcescens ATCC 274 produces the red pigment prodigiosin and the biosurfactant serrawettin W1 at 30°C but not at 37°C. A complete, high-quality genome sequence of S. marcescens ATCC 274 was obtained and found to comprise a single 5,148,533-bp circular genome with 4,799 genes.

ABSTRACT Enterobacteriaceae carrying plasmid-mediated colistin resistance have been found around the world. We report here the high-quality whole-genome sequence of an Escherichia coli O157:H48 isolate (2016C-3936C1) from Connecticut that carried the mcr-1 resistance gene on an IncX4-type plasmid.

In each of two years the reactions of 36 lines of Phaseolus atropurpureus to the four root-knot nematodes Meloidogyne arenaria, M. hapla, M. incognita, and M. javanica were studied. Seven of the experimental lines were common to the two years. Two known susceptible species, Phaseolus lathyroides and Lycopersicon esculentum (tomato cv. Grosse Lisse), were used as controls. Four macroscopic and four microscopic reactions were recorded on each occasion, and the results analysed. Resistance to the four nematodes was present in all lines of P. atropurpureus. There was also evidence of differential resistance between lines; some showed increased resistance to all nematodes except M. hapla, and others showed both increased susceptibility to M. hapla and increased resistance to M. javanica. The severity of attack on thc controls was significantly less in the second ycar. Several explanations for this are advanced.

Magnaporthe oryzae causes blast disease on more than 50 species of monocot plants, including important crops such as rice, millet, and most recently wheat. Additionally, it is an important model system for studying host-pathogen interaction. Here, we report a high-quality genome assembly and annotation of a laboratory strain 2539 of M. oryzae, which is a widely used progeny of a rice-infecting isolate and a grass-infecting isolate. The genome sequence of strain 2539 will be useful for studying the evolution, host adaption, and pathogenicity of M. oryzae, which will be beneficial for a better understanding of the mechanisms of host-pathogen interaction.
