Here, we present the first draft genome sequences of 14 bacterial strains isolated from the nasopharynx of healthy feedlot cattle. These genomes are from 12 Lactobacillus isolates (L. amylovorus, L. buchneri, L. curvatus, and L. paracasei), 1 Enterococcus hirae isolate, and 1 Staphylococcus chromogenes isolate.

ABSTRACT Bacteria from the Bacillus cereus group exhibit genetic and physiological diversity through different ecotypes. Here, we present the draft genome sequences of 20 bacterial strains belonging to the contrasted psychrotolerant and thermotolerant ecotypes.

ABSTRACT Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli serotype O157:H7 is a major cause of foodborne outbreaks and hemolytic-uremic syndrome. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of three antibiotic-resistant E. coli O157:H7 strains isolated from feedlot cattle. These draft genome sequences will aid in the development of sequence-based tools for the detection of virulence and antimicrobial resistance genotypes.

Here, we report the draft genome sequences obtained for 10 bacterial strains isolated from root nodules of Alnus trees. These members of the nodule microbiome were sequenced to determine their potential functional roles in plant health. The selected strains belong to the genera Rhodococcus, Kocuria, Rothia, Herbaspirillum, Streptomyces, and Thiopseudomonas.

Histophilus somni is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen associated with respiratory disease in cattle. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of 12 Histophilus somni strains isolated from feedlot cattle in Alberta, Canada, which were diagnosed with respiratory disease.

Three Lactococcus lactis strains with the ability to secrete various amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, methionine, valine, glutamic acid, and histidine) were sequenced in order to identify the mechanisms involved in the secretion. Amino acids contribute to flavor formation; therefore, bacterial strains with this ability are relevant for the food industry.

ABSTRACT The enterohemorrhagic pathotype represents a minor proportion of the Escherichia coli O103 strains shed in the feces of cattle. We report here the genome sequences of 43 strains of enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) O103:H2 isolated from feedlot cattle feces. The genomic analysis will provide information on the genetic diversity and virulence potential of bovine EHEC O103.

Two novel boron-tolerant, arsenic-resistant, Gram-positive bacterial strains, Lysinibacillus sp. OL1 and Enterococcus sp. OL5, were isolated from boron fertilizer-amended cauliflower plantation field soils in India. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of OL1 (4.87 Mb) and OL5 (3.93 Mb) to explore the intricacies of boron tolerance in bacteria.

We present here the draft genome sequences of four marine bacterial strains which can use ulvan as their sole carbon source. We used ulvan extracted from the green alga Ulva ohnoi. Each bacterium contains a polysaccharide-utilizing locus, which is necessary for the complete degradation of ulvan.

ABSTRACT Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) pathotype represents a minor proportion of E. coli O103 strains shed in the feces of feedlot cattle. The draft genome sequences of 13 strains of EPEC O103 are reported here. The availability of the genome sequences will help in the assessment of genetic diversity and virulence potential of bovine EPEC O103.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas sp. strain 382 and Pantoea coffeiphila 342 are two endophytic bacterial strains isolated from Paullinia cupana (guarana) seeds. Their draft genome sizes were 5.96 and 6.38 Mbp, with 315 and 266 scaffolds and 52% and 62% GC content, respectively.
