We consider a noncommutative description of graphene. This description consists of a Dirac equation for massless Dirac fermions plus noncommutative corrections, which are treated in the presence of an external magnetic field. We argue that, being a two-dimensional Dirac system, graphene is particularly interesting to test noncommutativity. We find that momentum noncommutativity affects the energy levels of graphene and we obtain a bound for the momentum noncommutative parameter.

We construct exact many-body eigenstates of both energy and angular momentum for the N-anyon problem in an external magnetic field. We show that such states span the full ground state eigenspace and arise as correlation functions of Fubini-Veneziano vertex operators of string theory.

We are studying finite fermion density states in Maxwell QED 2+1 with external magnetic field. It is shown that at any fermion density the energy of some magnetized states may be less than that of the state with the same density, but no magnetic field. Magnetized states are described by the effective Maxwell–Chern–Simons QED 2+1 Lagrangian with gauge field mass proportional to the number of filled Landau levels.

We present a far infrared investigation of the optical transitions in epitaxial graphene subjected to a perpendicular magnetic field. Cyclotron-resonance-like transitions between adjacent electron Landau levels are observed, as well as interband transitions. The results are discussed in terms of existing theoretical models of Dirac fermions in graphene, and the relevant optical selection rules.

In this work, utilising the linear response theory we calculate the magneto conductivity (MC) in graphene monolayers, subjected to a static perpendicular magnetic field. The interaction of Dirac fermions with optical phonon via deformation potential is taken into account at high temperature. The dependence of the MC on the magnetic field shows resonant peaks that describe transitions of electrons between Landau levels via the resonant scattering with optical phonons. The effect of temperature on the MC is also obtained and discussed.

In this paper, we study the (2 + 1)-dimensional Klein–Gordon oscillator coupled to an external magnetic field, in which we change the standard partial derivatives for the Dunkl derivatives. We find the energy spectrum (Landau levels) in an algebraic way, by introducing three operators that close the su(1, 1) Lie algebra and from the theory of unitary representations. Also, we find the energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions analytically, and we show that both solutions are consistent. Finally, we demonstrate that when the magnetic field vanishes or when the parameters of the Dunkl derivatives are set to zero, our results are adequately reduced to those reported in the literature.

We investigate the quantum Hall effect in graphene. We argue that in graphene in presence of an external magnetic field there is dynamical generation of mass by a rearrangement of the Dirac sea. We show that the mechanism breaks the lattice valley degeneracy only for the n = 0 Landau levels and leads to the new observed ν = ±1 quantum Hall plateaus. We suggest that our result can be tested by means of numerical simulations of planar Quantum Electro Dynamics with dynamical fermions in an external magnetic fields on the lattice.

The thermal conductivity of a quasiparticle (QP) system described by a relativistic four-fermion interaction model in the presence of an external magnetic field is calculated. It is shown that, for narrow widths of quasiparticles, the thermal conductivity, as a function of the applied magnetic field, exhibits a kink behavior at a critical field B c ~ T2. The kink is due to the opening of a gap in the QP spectrum at a critical magnetic field B c and to the enhancement of the transitions between the zeroth and first Landau levels. Possible applications of the results are discussed.
