Semiblind channel estimation method provides the best trade-off in terms of bandwidth overhead, computational complexity and latency. The result after using multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems shows higher data rate and longer transmit range without any requirement for additional bandwidth or transmit power. This paper presents the detailed analysis of diversity coding techniques using MIMO antenna systems. Different space time block codes (STBCs) schemes have been explored and analyzed with the proposed higher code rate. STBCs with higher code rates have been simulated for different modulation schemes using MATLAB environment and the simulated results have been compared in the semiblind environment which shows the improvement even in highly correlated antenna arrays and is found very close to the condition when channel state information (CSI) is known to the channel.

<p>Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems play a vital role in fourth generation wireless systems to provide advanced data rate. In this paper, a better performance and reduced complexity channel estimation method is proposed for MIMO systems based on matrix factorization. This technique is applied on training based least squares (LS) channel estimation using STBC for performance improvement. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method not only alleviates the performance of MIMO channel estimation but also significantly reduces the complexity caused by matrix inversion. The performance evaluations are validated through computer simulations using MATLAB in terms of bit error rate (BER) for modified LS with LS and MMSE channel estimation techniques. Simulation results show that the BER performance and complexity of the proposed method clearly outperforms the conventional LS channel estimation method.</p><p><em>Journal of Advanced College of Engineering and Management, Vol. 1, 2015</em>, pp. 11-24</p>

The forming of adaptive beam can improve the throughput of the system to a great extent by means of matching the parameters of transmitters to that of the wireless channels that are time-variant. The quality of the channel state is very crucial to the adaptive forming. The Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems are known to provide some very significant gains in the spectral efficiency as well as its reliability. This has been based on an assumption that the transmitter and the receiver will have knowledge of the coefficients of the channels. In reality, however, they will have to be estimated or sometimes predicted. There are some popular methods that are used for the estimation of the channel which is made by means of using the pilot symbols and also the Space-Time Block Codes (STBCs). Both these methods will not avail the time-learning channels even during the transmission of some meaningful data. In this work, a light weight neural network is proposed for the channel selection. The proposed Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is duly optimized with the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and the Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO)-based algorithms for enhancing the predictions. The method is popular and is robust adaptive as a beamforming technique and optimized weights will be used for training the ANN effectively. The results when compared prove the advantages of the techniques proposed.

Wireless technologies are aiming to improve data rates along with reliability using Multiple Input and Multiple Output(MIMO) systems. The major performance parameter for advanced systems is Bit Error rate (BER). Researchers are working for minimizing the BER for data communication. This paper presents the BER performance of turbo coded Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system in Nakagami channel. MIMO system is realized using Space Time Block Codes. System performance is analyzed for M-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) in Nakagami channel. System is implemented using MATLAB code. 4QAM system performs better as far as BER is concerned. The implemented turbo coded system outperforms the uncoded system in case of BER performance. This system can be used for improved performance of data communication in LTE and WiMax.

Abstract In this journal, we investigate the beam-domain channel estimation and power allocation in hybrid architecture massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems. First, we propose a low-complexity channel estimation method, which utilizes the beam steering vectors achieved from the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation and beam gains estimated by low-overhead pilots. Based on the estimated beam information, a purely analog precoding strategy is also designed. Then, the optimal power allocation among multiple beams is derived to maximize spectral efficiency. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed schemes can achieve high channel estimation accuracy and spectral efficiency.

With the development of 5G, Internet of Things, and smart home technologies, miniaturized and compact multi-antenna systems and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna arrays have attracted increasing attention. Reducing the coupling between antenna elements is essential to improving the performance of such MIMO antenna system. In this work, we proposed a graphene-assembled, as an alternative material rather than metal, film-based MIMO antenna array with high isolation for 5G application. The isolation of the antenna element is improved by a graphene assembly film (GAF) frequency selective surface and isolation strip. It is shown that the GAF antenna element operated at 3.5 GHz has the realized gain of 2.87 dBi. The addition of the decoupling structure improves the isolation of the MIMO antenna array to more than 10 dB and corrects the antenna radiation pattern and operating frequency. The isolation between antenna elements with an interval of 0.4λ is above 25 dB. All experimental results show that the GAF antenna and decoupling structure are efficient devices for 5G mobile communication.
