The analysis and design of a small planar multiband antenna operating in the 4G frequency bands are presented. The numerical and experimental results demonstrated that the proposed antenna satisfies the requirement of 6 dB return loss for the impedance bandwidth of the LTE700/LTE2300/LTE2500 and WiMAX3500 bands. The gains at 750 MHz/2.3 GHz/2.6 GHz/3.5 GHz are 2.1 dBi/4.9 dBi/4.7 dBi/4.3 dBi, respectively. The measured radiation patterns verify the suitability of the antenna to be employed in mobile phones. The dimensions of the radiant patch are 49 × 10 mm2. The proposed antenna can be easily fabricated and customized to various 4G mobile phones as a compact internal antenna.

A small-size printed antenna is proposed for the application of mobile phones. The antennacomprisesan outer strip, an inner strip, and a common section. It not only occupies a compact area of 25 × 20 mm² butalsosupports two wide bandswithinthe resonantmodes. Prototypes of the antenna had been constructed and experimentally verified. The measured results of the antenna show the bandwidth cover the existing service bands of GSM/DCS/PCS/UMTS within 6 dB return loss specification, and also have good radiation patterns and antenna gains. This antenna is well suitable to be used for mobile phone application.

This work presents a circularly polarized, CPW-Fed multi band operating monopole antenna. The monopole antenna consists of three parasitic elements, along with a stub at ground for impedance matching. The parasitic elements so far accumulated have shown their excellence in increasing the impedance bandwidth over the 6-18GHz band. The antenna was carved on FR-4 epoxy substrate which result a copper clad laminated structure. The CPW-Fed monopole antenna exhibits excellent circular polarization levels in the frequency region 6-18GHz. The simulation resulted a Return loss of less than -10dB, with good axial ratio less than -3dB over entire band of interest. The simulation was carried out through HFSS microwave studio. The antenna measured values are in good correspondence to the simulated values.

In this paper, a novel coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed and miniaturized slot antenna for triple-frequency operation is proposed and investigated, which is printed on a small 20mm×20mm FR4 substrate with thickness of 1.0 mm and relative permittivity of 4.3. Through loading different slits, three perfect operating bands of 2.4GHz-2.45GHz, 3.25GHz-4.15GHz and 5.05GHz-6.25GHz are achieved respectively, when return loss is less than-10dB. Experimental results show that the antenna gives monopole-like radiation patterns and good antenna gains over the operating bands. Such antennas is suitable for WLAN 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz and WiMAX 3.5/5.5 GHz applications.

A practical antenna design combined with a universal serial bus (USB) connector in close vicinity is proposed. In the proposed arrangement, the antenna unit consisted of two planar inverted F antennas (PIFAs) placed on the two sides of the USB connector. The antenna is located at the bottom of the mobile phone to avoid the crowded space on the top side of the phone where various mobile phone accessories are usually assigned. A diplexer is incorporated in the unit to alleviate the adverse effect of the metal USB connector on the radiating efficiency of the antenna. A prototype antenna was fabricated and tested and showed good coverage for GSM850/900/1800/1900, UMTS2100, and LTE700/2500 multibands operation. The overall performances demonstrated the good design of the proposed unit for mobile phone application.

Along with the development of information technology in recent era, a number of new applications emerge, especially on mobile phones. The use of mobile phones, besides as communication media, is also as media of learning, such as translator application. Translator application can be a tool to learn a language, such as English to Bahasa Indonesia translator application. The purpose of this research is to allow user to be able to translate English to Bahasa Indonesia on mobile phone easily. Translator application on this research was developed using Java programming language (especially J2ME) because of its advantage that can run on various operating systems and its open source that can be easily developed and distributed. In this research, data collection was done through literature study, observation, and browsing similar application. Development of the system used object-oriented analysis and design that can be described by using case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and activity diagrams. The translation process used rule-based method. Result of this research is the application of Java-based translator which can translate English sentence into Indonesian sentence. The application can be accessed using a mobile phone with Internet connection. The application has spelling check feature that is able to check the wrong word and provide alternative word that approaches the word input. Conclusion of this research is the application can translate sentence in daily conversation quite well with the sentence structure corresponds and is close to its original meaning.

A novel multi-mode narrow-frame antenna is presented for 4G/5G metal-rimmed mobile phones in this paper. The proposed antenna is constituted by a monopole antenna and a coupling strip, which is printed on FR4 substrate with thickness of 0.8 mm. The overall area occupied by the antenna is only 60 × 10.4 mm2, which can be used as a promising narrow-frame antenna. The simulated results shows that the return loss of the antenna can provide four operating bandwidths of 822– 961 (band 1), 1697–3075 (band 2), 3280–3835 (band 3) and 4475–5050 MHz (band 4), which respectively cover 824–960, 1710–2690, 3300–3600 and 4800–5000 MHz in 4G/5G communication systems. In order to verify the accuracy of theoretical analysis and simulated results, the proposed antenna is fabricated and measured. The experimental results are basically consistent with the simulated results, suggesting that the presented antenna has attractive performance for mobile phones.

Abstract To solve the problems of environmental pollution and waste of resources caused by used mobile phones, the study of objective disassembly sequence planning is carried out for used mobile phones. In view of the connection of mobile phone parts with multiple parts and the need to disassemble components, the concepts of containment, exclusion, and components are integrated into the hybrid graph. An improved hybrid graph is proposed and the improved hybrid graph disassembly model suitable for mobile phone disassembly is established. The ant colony algorithm is used to search for the optimal disassembly sequence, with the objective of minimum disassembly time. Finally, the improved hybrid graph disassembly model is applied to obtain the disassembly solution of HUAWEI Honor 6. The experimental results demonstrate that the disassembly sequence generated by the improved hybrid graph disassembly model can describe the actual disassembly process of disassembling components with less disassembly time.

AbstractWith the advancement in microprocessor technology, mobile phones are becoming more preferable in our day to day lives as compared to personal computers since most phones are capable of functionalities as sophisticated as our PC’s or laptops. Mobile phones nowadays have processor speeds as high as 1GHz and can have a storage capacity of about 32Gb and they also have long hours of battery life. In addition to these feature, there is the aspect of great portability. When all these are combined into one, the mobile phones can be viewed as a very powerful device that rivals PC’s. Advancements of hardware also had made mobile phones much smaller and more efficient whereas including an increasing of peripherals number. The scope of this paper is basically to make a mobile phone application and how to interface the mobile phone to the scanner. The mobile application is to be developed in the Linux-based Android platform. An algorithm based on the operation principles is also to be developed during the work.
