Energetic particle precipitation (EPP) has significant impacts on ozone depletion in the polar middle atmosphere during geomagnetic activity. It is well known that solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation plays an important role in ozone generation. Therefore, it is interesting to compare the contributions of EPP and solar UV to ozone changes in the polar upper atmosphere. In this article, we use the annual average Ap index to denote the annual-mean magnitude of the geomagnetic activity, which is closely correlated with the EPP flux, and the annual average F10.7 index to denote the annual-mean magnitude of the solar radiation, which is somewhat related to the solar UV. We adopt the 5° zonal annual-mean ozone profile dataset to study the statistical characters between the ozone dataset and the Ap, F10.7 indices. Multiple regression analysis shows that the contributions of geomagnetic activity are not negligible and are of a similar order of magnitude as the solar UV radiation in the polar upper atmosphere (above 10 hPa). The results also show that high-speed solar-wind-stream-induced and coronal-mass-ejection-driven geomagnetic activity is of the same order of magnitude. There are interhemispheric differences according to our multiple regression analysis. We discuss the possible causes of these differences.

Abstract. At the Collm Observatory of the University of Leipzig LF D1 low-frequency total reflection night-time wind measurements have been carried out continuously for more than two decades. Using a multiple regression analysis to derive prevailing winds, tides and the quasi-2-day wave from the half-hourly mean values of the horizontal wind components, monthly mean values of mesopause wind parameters are obtained that can be analysed with respect to long-term trends and influences of solar variability. The response of the prevailing wind to the 11-year solar cycle differs throughout the year. While in winter no significant correlation between the zonal prevailing wind and solar activity is found, in spring and summer a negative correlation between the TWC can be seen from the measurements. This is connected with stronger vertical gradients of the zonal prevailing wind during solar maximum than during solar minimum. Since the amplitude of the quasi-2-day wave is dependent on the zonal mean wind vertical gradient, this is connected with a positive correlation between solar activity and quasi-two-day wave activity.Key words. <p>The atmosphere of Venus can be vertically divided into three regions with different chemical conditions. High temperature and pressure and the absence of effective photolysis processes are dominant in the lower atmosphere up to 60 km. The middle atmosphere between 60 and 110 km is controlled by photochemistry driven by solar UV radiation. In the upper atmosphere above 110 km, dissociation, ionization, and ionospheric reactions are important processes.</p> <p>HCl is the primary chlorine reservoir in the Venus’ atmosphere below 110 km. Highly reactive chlorine species (ClO<sub>x</sub>) is produced by solar UV photolysis of HCl and has been proposed to play an important role in catalysis of CO and O recombination to CO<sub>2</sub>, thereby stabilizing the CO<sub>2</sub> atmosphere. Chlorine chemistry is also linked to sulfur chemistry and its understanding is necessary to explain the observed vertical distribution of SO<sub>2</sub>.</p> <p>Interestingly, there is a large inconsistency between the HCl abundances measured by spacecraft and ground-based telescopes. The SOIR instrument onboard Venus Express measured its abundance as less than ~50 ppb at the cloud top (~70 km) increasing with altitude, reaching to 1 ppm in the upper atmosphere (~110 km) [Mahieux et al., 2015]. Such a vertical trend conflicts with the results obtained by sub-mm ground-based observations which inferred a vertically constant profile (up to ~80 km) [Sandor and Clancy, 2012]. Near-infrared ground-based observations also showed the HCl abundance at the cloud top as ~500 ppb [Iwagami et al., 2008; Krasnopolsky, 2010], which are nearly one order of magnitude larger than the SOIR results. The reason for this inconsistency has not been understood yet.</p> <p>In order to re-examine HCl abundance at the cloud top, we carried out a high-resolution spectroscopy of Venus’ dayside at wavelengths of 3.580-3.934 μm with IRTF/iSHELL on August 5-7, 2018 and August 18-20, 2020 (UT). Venus was near its greatest eastern and western elongations, respectively, in the observation periods. Taking the full advantages of iSHELL’s high spectral resolution of R ~ 75,000, iSHELL resolved individual HCl lines with sufficient separation from terrestrial lines. We analyzed three cross-dispersed echelle orders (orders 141, 142, and 144). For each order, retrievable lines of HCl<sup>35</sup>, HCl<sup>37</sup>, and O<sup>16</sup>C<sup>12</sup>O<sup>18</sup> were included. With using radiative transfer modeling, HCl<sup>35</sup> and HCl<sup>37</sup> abundances were derived after cloud top altitude was retrieved from several O<sup>16</sup>C<sup>12</sup>O<sup>18</sup> lines. Our preliminary results showed that HCl abundance at the cloud top is at least larger than 100 ppb and does not vary with the observation period (i.e., no difference between the morning and evening hemispheres).</p> <p>In this presentation, we show latitudinal distribution of HCl abundance and its isotopic (HCl<sup>35</sup>/HCl<sup>37</sup>) ratio at the cloud top, retrieved from the iSHELL spectra and compare them with the previous studies.</p>

This research is conducted upon the emergence of many companies producing the same product of the same kind and function. It leads to the urgency of proper and well planned marketing strategy. This research aims to investigate how far the influence of branding, product quality, and price toward consumer’s satisfaction in beverage franchise business. This research utilizes 5 likert scale questionnaire which is tested by using multiple regression analysis to reveal whether or not there is partial and simultaneous influence of branding, product quality, and price toward consumer’s satisfaction in beverage franchise business. Sampling method is accidental sampling technique, in which sample of particular population is taken based on the accessibility and availability of the sample during the sampling process. Sample used is 100 samples among consumers or customers of Mang Endy Milkshake. The result shows that branding, product quality, and price influence consumer’s satisfaction in beverage franchise business.

Seaweed-Kappaphycus-Euchema Cottonii and Denticulum species was first cultivated at Sabah side of Sebatik in 2009. By November 2014, sixty one Sabahan seaweed farmers cultivated 122 ha or 3,050 long lines. Thirty Sabahan seaweed farmers in Kampung Pendekar (3.2 m.t dried) and 31 in Burst Point (12.5 m.t dried) produced 16 metric tonnes of dried seaweed contributed 31% to Tawau’s total production (51 m.t). The remaining 69% were from farmers in Cowie Bay that separates Sebatik from municipality of Tawau. Indonesian in Desa Setabu, Sebatik started in 2008. However, the number of Indonesian seaweed farmers, their cultivated areas and production (as well as quality) in Sebatik increased many times higher and faster than the Sabah side of Sebatik. In 2009 more than 1,401 households in Kabupaten Nunukan (including Sebatik) cultivated over 700 ha and have produced 55,098.95 and 116, 73 m.t dried seaweed in 2010 and 2011 respectively. There is a divergence in productions from farming the sea off the same island under similar weather conditions. Which of the eight explanatory factors were affecting production of seaweeds in Sebatik? Using Cobb Douglas production function, Multiple Regression analysis was conducted on 100 samples (50 Sabahan and 50 Indonesian). Results; Variable significant at α = 0.05% are Experience in farming whereas Farm size; Quantity of propagules and Location — Dummy are the variables significant at α 0.01%. Not significant are variables Fuel; Age; Number of family members involved in farming and Education level.

AbstractInternet addiction has become a worrying phenomenon for Indonesian teenagers. This research was conducted to determine whether the psychological factors will influence internet addiction in adolescents. This research uses quantitative with multiple regression analysis method. The winning sample is 200 adolescents. The instrument collects data using a scale internet addiction scale that compiled by Griffiths (2005) and developed by Lemmens (2009), Parenting Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) developed by Buri (1991), Social Skill Inventory (SSI) developed by Riggio (1986), and A Rasch-Type Loneliness Scale compiled by De Jong Gierveld (2006).  The results showed that there were significant differences in the parenting style, social skills, and loneliness on the tendency of internet addiction in adolescents.AbstrakAdiksi Internet menjadi salah satu fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan untuk remaja Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor psikologis apakah yang memberikan pengaruh terhadap kecenderungan adiksi internet pada remaja. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 200 remaja dengan menggunakan metode analisis kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur sebagai berikut, alat ukur adiksi internet yang dikembangkan oleh Lemmens (2009), Parenting Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Buri (1991), Social Skill Inventory (SSI) yang dikembangkan oleh Riggio (1986), dan A Rasch-Type Loneliness Scale yang disusun oleh De Jong Gierveld (2006). Berdasarkan hasil pengujian ditemukan pengaruh signifikan gaya pengasuhan, keterampilan sosial, dan kesepian terhadap kecenderungan adiksi internet pada remaja.

The purpose of this research is to analyza the influence of work motivation and training on the performance of the employees at the Education and Culture Office Of Padang Pariaman Regency. In this study using descriptive analisys. This analysis is to strengthen the argumentation and logic in answering and implementing allegations that will be described in quantitative analysis, for testing this research hypothesis, including multiple regression analysis. The result of this study illustrate that all variables affect the performance of employees. The result of this research where the variable of work motivation (X1) is known equal to 1,670 then training variable (X2) is obtained equal to 1,670, for employee performance result (Y) equal to 33,196. It can be concluded that the motivation of work ad training is influential in improving the performance of employees within the Department of Education and Culture of Padang Pariaman Regency.

The method of Cronbach’s Alpha analysis, EFA analysis and multiple regression analysis were used with the SPSS program.The result shows that the affects of the factors on Vietnamese buyer’s behavior about TV commercial of skin care increasingly: Entertaiment, Informativeness, Celebrity, In-irritation, Credibility.
