Currently, the business process elements in the design of organizational business architecture are becoming increasingly complex, showing trends of networking and flattening. The control of complex business processes is a key factor for business architecture design. This paper considers a complex network generation method with business process and organization structure data and analyzes complex network controllability to examine the alignment of business processes and the organization structure. The uncontrollable nodes of the complex network can be identified, which act as the input for organization structure adjustment and business architecture optimization design.

The successful application of Information Technologies (IT) in an organization depends on the business processes used for managing such technologies. It is widely recognized that the use of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice for organizing these technologies into a framework is a key factor for achieving a better IT - business alignment. This article presents a business process model for the IT Management that can be used in medium and large organizations as a framework for modelling and analysing their IT management processes. The main difference between the described model and others found in the literature is that our model places EA concept at the centre of the organization of IT Management activities. It provides a better definition, organization and comprehension of the essential and support IT management activities. The described model is being used in several organizations as a referential framework to improve their current IT Management processes.

Annotation of Business Processes with semantic tags taken from a domain ontology is beneficial to several activities conducted on Business Processes, such as comprehension, documentation, analysis and evolution. On the other hand, the task of semantically annotating Business Processes is time-consuming and far from trivial. The authors support Business Process designers in the annotation of process elements by automatically suggesting candidate concepts. The annotation suggestions are computed on the basis of a similarity measure between the text information associated with process element labels and the ontology concepts. In turn, this requires support for the disambiguation of terms appearing in ontology concepts, which admit multiple linguistic senses, and for ontology extension, when the available concepts are insufficient.

This article deals with the most important part of business modelling, with business process modelling. The presented process models are achieved by using common and special UML diagrams. The business process is one of the four basic business concepts creating complex business architecture and it is dynamic, structured and complicated part of the business. In business process, there are stored significant rules and knowledge of the business. Those issues could be applicable to the knowledge formalization in the agricultural business

There are considered the features, advantages and problems of modeling as a basis and a link for the transformation of business processes. The role of business process models in the business architecture of a manufacturing enterprise is shown. Approaches to the transformation of business processes in the context of increasing their efficiency in the context of manufacturing digitalization are proposed. The technique of eliminating “bottlenecks” in business processes based on the system and process approaches to management and theory of constraints is considered. The criteria and methodology for assessing the economic efficiency of transforming business processes are considered.

The business architecture creation is one of fundamental activities in business process reengineering and also in development of software product that supports the optimised business processes. One part of application development life cycle is modeling of software architecture (functions and data of application). There are two different models, model of business process and model of information system. This article deals with the value of using the same notation (such as UML) to vizualization of the both models and it guidelines the information transfer from business architecture to software architecture.

Serious games have been understood as a useful tool to engage, educate and train individuals in many areas. They are also suitable for the business processes management area where it is expected that business-process-based digital games can bring together players (process actors) to better understand and learn organizational business processes. This paper presents a game design method for the development of serious games which aims to provide business process understanding to players, as well as to allow them to reflect on process challenges and difficulties. The design of serious business process games requires game designers to have business process modeling skills and instructions on how to represent business process elements in the game context. This research was conducted using the Design Science Research Methodology, and addresses the challenge of providing a method for the design of serious business process games. The method receives business process models as input and comprises steps to (i) map business process elements into game design elements, game design and development, and (ii) evaluate games with game designers, process actors, and game players. In order to validate the method, a set of games was built and evaluated with players. The designed games were evaluated as to adequate quality, although fun and entertainment can still be improved, and players´ understanding regarding process increase after games are played

Information systems support and ensure the practical running of the most critical business processes. There exists (or can be reconstructed) a record (log) of the process running in the information system. Computer methods of data mining can be used for analysis of process data utilizing support techniques of machine learning and a complex network analysis. The analysis is usually provided based on quantitative parameters of the running process of the information system. It is not so usual to analyze behavior of the participants of the running process from the process log. Here, we show how data and process mining methods can be used for analyzing the running process and how participants behavior can be analyzed from the process log using network (community or cluster) analyses in the constructed complex network from the SAP business process log. This approach constructs a complex network from the process log in a given context and then finds communities or patterns in this network. Found communities or patterns are analyzed using knowledge of the business process and the environment in which the process operates. The results demonstrate the possibility to cover up not only the quantitative but also the qualitative relations (e.g., hidden behavior of participants) using the process log and specific knowledge of the business case.

Printing service order information systems sometimes experience problems in completing running business processes including, frequent loss and inaccuracy in registering orders from customers, often also losing order data from customers, recording orders often experience errors, resulting inaccurate reporting of order data. A computerized ordering service information system will greatly help improve performance and accuracy in making reports on business processes running at a company. The existence of enterprise modeling of information systems ordering printing services with the TOGAF framework will be a method that greatly helps management make a decision that will synergize with the business process activities at the company. So that the objectives of the system can be achieved properly. The TOGAF framework can be a solution and will help to produce a system architecture design, a business process architecture, a technology architecture, a number of proposed business opportunity strategy proposals and an ongoing system change proposal.

Subject. This article analyzes the business processes in the insurance company, using the method of their operation with the selection of key areas of activity. Objectives. The article aims to describe certain business processes in insurance, highlighting participants, lines of activity, and the sequence of procedures. It analyzes the business process Settlement of Losses, which is one of the significant business processes in the insurance company. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of induction and deduction, analogy, and the systems approach. Results. Based on the analysis and description of business processes in the insurance company and the identification of key elements and steps in terms of the effectiveness of decisions, the article identifies the checkpoints of Entry and Exit, activity direction, and resources of the Settlement of Losses process. Conclusions. The application of the categories that split business processes makes it possible to develop step regulation for all processes and acceptable control procedures for different operations. The presented checkpoints at different steps of the business process will help identify weaknesses and eliminate them by re-checking the point.
