ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze nurses’ role in assisting patients in palliative care, with emphasis on the spiritual dimension, in the light of Theory of Human Caring. Methods: this is an exploratory, qualitative study, carried out in a hospital in João Pessoa, Paraíba, between August and December 2019, with 10 nurses. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were used. For analysis, we opted for content analysis. Results: the spiritual dimension of care is contemplated by several religious and spiritual practices. These are respected and encouraged by nurses, although there is difficulty in providing care for the spiritual dimension. Final Considerations: nurses have attitudes consistent with Jean Watson’s Theory and apply the Caritas Process elements during assistance to patients’ spiritual dimension in palliative care.

The mankind created the global production that has an increasingly harmful effect on the natural environment. The present-day condition of natural environment causes much concern. A global environmental problem has inevitably emerged and now it requires a decrease in the intensity of the harmful action of available productive facilities. The purpose of the research done was to substantiate and find a potential opportunity for the use of a new approach to an increase in the level of ecological compatibility due to a partial renewal of the worn-out equipment. A substantial portion of the domestic energy equipment has a low level of the process-related functioning efficiency (including ecological efficiency). A global practice shows that the problems of the improvement of technological parameters can be solved in a different way to provide failure –free functioning of power facilities. The analysis of the circumstances existing nowadays in the field of the interaction of domestic power engineering and natural environment gives us an opportunity to adhere to the opinion that the use of the method of partial renewal is objectively affordable and it is a highly efficient tool for the reduction of the degree of harmful action on the part of power equipment. The purpose of this research paper was to show technological opportunities of the method of a partial renewal of worn-out engineering facilities (first of all power equipment and especially boiler plants) as an affordable tool for a decrease of the degree of their harmful action on the environment. Among the branches of the domestic industry, the power engineering branch needs badly a partial renewal and in the first turn these are boiler plants. This type of renewal is of vital importance for Ukraine that possesses a huge fleet of completely worn-out boiler plants. It is advisable to perform an integrated partial renewal. The partial renewal can involve all or individual parts of the entire chain of process elements. A successful fulfillment of the program of partial renewal is defined by a high quality control of the system of scientific and organizational-&-engineering problems relating to the renewal arrangement and realization. An issue relating to an index of the estimation of the extent of renewal of engineering facilities is of great importance. The capital inputs into the partial renewal are always justified for all intents and purposes. As for the conception of the renewal of the worn-out equipment the partial renewal can become an important launching low-cost step that will simplify the expected realization of the program of complete renewal.

Atmospheric parameters and elemental abundances of metal-poor Population II star  TYC5594-576-1 ([Fe/H] = –2.8) have been studied, including the elements of neutron (n-) capture processes, as an important part of the enrichment sources of early Galaxy. Na, Mg, Al, Co, Sr, Y, Zr, Mo, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Os, and Th abundances were determined using the synthetic spectrum method, taken into account the hyperfine structure (HFS) for the Ba II, La II and Eu II lines. The abundances of Si, Ca, Sc, N were determined based on the equivalent widths of their lines. The carbon abundance was obtained by the molecular synthesis fitting for the CH region of 4300-4330 ÅÅ. For the abundances determinations of C, Na, Mg, Al, Ba, and Th the NLTE corrections have been applied.We have determined the abundances of several n- capture elements for the first time and found that the behaviour of these elements abundances shows a significant trend with increasing atomic number. The elements ratios of [Eu/Fe] = 1.85, [Ba/Eu] = –1.24, [Sr/Ba] = –1.04 confirm the status of TYC5594-576-1 as a r-process enrichment star, with lower strontium [Sr/Fe] = –0.33 and higher thorium [Th/Fe] = 1.28 abundances. The obtained europium and thorium excesses testifies to the early enrichment of the Galaxy by the r-process elements as a result of the merger of neutron stars or black holes. The carbon abundance confirms the effect of canonical additional mixing in this star.

Abstract The astrophysical sites where r-process elements are synthesized remain mysterious: it is clear that neutron star mergers (kilonovae (KNe)) contribute, and some classes of core-collapse supernovae (SNe) are also possible sources of at least the lighter r-process species. The discovery of 60Fe on the Earth and Moon implies that one or more astrophysical explosions have occurred near the Earth within the last few million years, probably SNe. Intriguingly, 244Pu has now been detected, mostly overlapping with 60Fe pulses. However, the 244Pu flux may extend to before 12 Myr ago, pointing to a different origin. Motivated by these observations and difficulties for r-process nucleosynthesis in SN models, we propose that ejecta from a KN enriched the giant molecular cloud that gave rise to the Local Bubble, where the Sun resides. Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) measurements of 244Pu and searches for other live isotopes could probe the origins of the r-process and the history of the solar neighborhood, including triggers for mass extinctions, e.g., that at the end of the Devonian epoch, motivating the calculations of the abundances of live r-process radioisotopes produced in SNe and KNe that we present here. Given the presence of 244Pu, other r-process species such as 93Zr, 107Pd, 129I, 135Cs, 182Hf, 236U, 237Np, and 247Cm should be present. Their abundances and well-resolved time histories could distinguish between the SN and KN scenarios, and we discuss prospects for their detection in deep-ocean deposits and the lunar regolith. We show that AMS 129I measurements in Fe–Mn crusts already constrain a possible nearby KN scenario.

Background: The proliferation of systematic reviews has impacted library operations and activities as librarians support, collaborate, and perform more tasks in the systematic review process. This case report describes a toolkit that librarians with extensive experience in supporting multiple review teams use to manage time, resources, and expectations in the systematic review process.Case Presentation: The toolkit is a compilation of documents that we use to effectively communicate with and help review teams understand and navigate each stage of the systematic review process. Elements included in the toolkit and discussed in this case report are intake forms, communication templates and memoranda, a process flow diagram, library guides on tools for retrieval and data appraisal, and established standards for guidance during the write-up stage. We describe the use of the toolkit for both education and project management, with a focus on its use in helping manage team time, resources, and expectations.Discussion: The systematic review toolkit helps librarians connect systematic review steps and tasks to actionable items. The content facilitates and supports discussion and learning by both librarians and team members. This toolkit helps librarians share important information and resources for each stage of the process.

Lead (Pb) is predicted to have large over-abundances with respect to other s-process elements in Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars, especially of low metallicities. However, our previous abundance studies of s-process enriched post-Asymptotic Giant Branch (post-AGB) stars in the Galaxy and the Magellanic Clouds show a discrepancy between observed and predicted Pb abundances. For the subset of post-AGB stars with low metallicities the determined upper limits based on detailed chemical abundance studies are much lower than what is predicted. Recent theoretical studies have pointed to the occurrence of the i-process to explain the observed chemical patterns, especially of Pb. A major development, in the observational context, is the release of the GAIA EDR3 parallaxes of the post-AGBs in the Galaxy, which has opened the gateway to systematically studying the sample of stars as a function of current luminosities (which can be linked to their initial masses). In this paper, we succinctly review the Pb discrepancy in post-AGB stars and present the latest observational and theoretical developments in this research landscape.

Performance measurement in supply chain management is essential to facilitate the company to achieve effectiveness and efficiency to meet customer satisfaction. One of the models to measure performance in the supply chain is SCOR version 12. This model presents a business process framework, performance indicators, best practices, and unique technologies to support communication and collaboration between supply chain partners to increase the effectiveness of supply chain management and the effectiveness of supply chain improvements. This research used SCOR 12.0 to identify the performance metrics within the supply chain. A make-to-order small-medium enterprise (SMEs) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, is the object of the research. We portrayed the business scope diagram by identifying the process elements in each tier (plan, source, make, deliver, return, enable) and decomposing each Process into performance attributes, i.e., Reliability, responsiveness, agility, cost, and asset management efficiency. We obtained three performance attributes (Reliability, responsiveness, and cost) based on observation and interviews, 52 performance metrics spread into 47 process elements. The SMEs can use the performance metric framework to measure supply chain management performance in make-to-order products.
