This paper uses principal component analysis (PCA) and entropy method to construct the evaluation index system of the scientific research performance of universities in 31 provinces and cities in China. Based on the traditional DEA model, the development trend of the scientific research performance of the research objects from 2015 to 2019 is dynamically evaluated by the Malmquist index method. The results show that the scientific research performance of universities in various regions of China is not ideal, and the level of scientific research performance is declining. The total factor productivity of scientific research in the central and western regions is much higher than that in the eastern region. The main factor that hinders the improvement of scientific research performance is the efficiency of technological progress. Finally, aiming at the existing problems, some feasible suggestions are put forward to further improve the input-output efficiency of scientific research in universities.

<p>Taking 31 provinces as the research object, this paper constructed the input-output efficiency evaluation index system of public sports service in China. The paper evaluated the input-output efficiency level and spatial-temporal pattern of public sports services using the methods of data envelopment analysis and exploratory spatial data analysis. The results show that: (1) The average comprehensive super-efficiency value of public sports service in 2016 was higher than that in 2008, and the provinces with the comprehensive super-efficiency value greater than 1 increased, but the difference between provinces in 2016 was more obvious. (2) Compared with 2008, the efficiency distribution of public sports service in 2016 is more balanced among the three regions, the difference between the eastern region and the central region is reduced. (3) The efficiency of public sports service has different spatial correlation in the geographical spatial distribution, and this correlation shows the reverse in the two measurements.</p>

Based on the panel data of China’s culture and related industries, this paper constructs an evaluation index system of total factor productivity of culture industry, measures the TFP of culture industry by using the global Malmquist index method, The results show that the TFP index of China’s culture industry decreases by 3.1% every year, which is mainly driven by technological progress, There is an obvious trend of σ convergence among China’s culture industry as a whole, the western region and the subdivided industries. The convergence rate of TFP in the whole culture industry is 2.306%.

Sustainable tourismization is a favorable development mode and pathway for the promotion of the coordinated development of the economy, society, and ecology. Based on the connotations of tourismization, a comprehensive evaluation index system of sustainable tourismization was constructed. This system consists of three dimensions: consumption tourismization, spatial tourismization, and industrial tourismization. The level, spatial, and temporal distribution characteristics, and differences in sustainable tourismization among China’s provinces from 2009 to 2018 were measured and analyzed using the improved entropy method, the Theil index, a spatial autocorrelation analysis, and other methods. It was found that the level of provincial sustainable tourismization in China has steadily increased over time, with the eastern region taking the lead. The overall differences and inter-regional differences in terms of the provincial sustainable tourismization level have generally decreased year-by-year. The intraregional differences within the eastern region were found to be the largest, and the rate of contribution of inter-regional differences to overall differences was shown to decrease gradually, while the rate of contribution of intraregional differences within the western region increased gradually. A positive spatial correlation in the provincial sustainable tourismization level was identified, and the spatial agglomeration effect showed an increasing trend. The spatial dependence was mainly characterized by “high–high” (HH) agglomeration, showing a ladder difference of “higher in the east and lower in the west”. The results of this study were used to identify where emphasis should be placed in terms of policy and strategy.

This paper constructs the evaluation index system of electricity competitiveness in terminal energy consumption, evaluates the electricity competitiveness in Ningxia region from 2005 to 2011 using principal component analysis (PCA), and compares the evaluation results of PCA, the linear weighted method, the comprehensive index method and TOPSIS-grey correlation method. The compatibility degree and difference degree of each method are analyzed and calculated to verify the applicability of the PCA. The results show that PCA is the most scientific and appropriate evaluation method.

Higher education institutions (HEIs) are the key to the economic and social development of a country. However, the recent advancements of higher education institutions’ universities in China have become a pivotal factor contributing to their swift growth. Considering the impact of the external environment, applying a three-stage data-envelopment analysis (DEA) and the Malmquist index method, we evaluated the static and dynamic efficiency of input–output data of scientific research produced by universities directly under the Ministry of Education in the period of 2010 to 2017. Results showed that the three stage DEA model is more accurate than the traditional DEA method for measuring the efficiency of scientific research input and universities’ output. The overall efficiency of universities’ scientific research activities increased at an average annual rate of 3.7% from 2010 to 2017. Further analysis showed that the optimization of the scale was the primary internal factor able to promote the efficiency of scientific research in universities. Technological progress slightly diminishes the efficiency of scientific research in universities, which should, therefore, take measures to improve pure technical efficiency to enlarge the scale of their scientific research according to the characteristics of scientific research efficiency. Such steps will strengthen internal motivation towards scientific research efficiency in universities.

Use of the advantages of different mathematical model, and the integrated use of, has become a development trend to construct the new evaluation model. This paper puts forward a kind of multi-level comprehensive evaluation model based on the combination of principal component analysis, independent factor analysis and different distance clustering analysis. To construct a three levels analytic hierarchy comprehensive evaluation index system, and using patent information in an area 20 colleges and universities as an application case, to verified the feasibility of this new type of comprehensive evaluation model and practical. The evaluation parameters of the model are clear, easy application, evaluation results tally with the actual situation of degree is high. It is an effective platform that the various science and technology innovation ability evaluation provides. It is a basis for promote science and technology innovation ability.

Transport infrastructure and logistics are gradually becoming important factors affecting global trade. At the same time, with the international logistics corridor along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) going deep into construction, China is emerging as a unique case to study how logistics affects international trade. Therefore, based on the evaluation index system of logistics development level of China’s provinces by using the entropy method, this paper systematically analyzed the impact of logistics development level on bilateral trade from 31 China’s provinces to 65 countries along the BRI by using the improved gravity model with data for the period 2008–2018. Empirical results show: (1) Logistics development level had significantly promoted international trade development. (2) Compared with partner countries, China’s provincial logistics development level presented a greater impact on bilateral trade. (3) Influence of logistics development level was manifested in different periods, different international and regions, especially, logistics development level coefficient of the western region was negative, while that in eastern region was positive. In view of the above research results, we argue that strengthening domestic and international logistics construction is not only conductive to the sustainable development of China’s future trade, but also help to realize the coordinated development between China’s eastern, central and western regions.

By means of conceptual model of pressure-state-response model and the method of analytic hierarchy process, evaluation index system of ecological environment was built. Evaluation of ecological security was quantitatively calculated based on comprehensive index method. The evaluation of development trend and diversity of ecological security was conduct in the case of a typical coal resource-exhausted city-Zaozhuang city in China. The results show that ecological security of Zaozhuang city is in good tendency with little fluctuation in 2001-2009 and ecological security indexes in various districts with different coal mining histories are of some differences in Zaozhuang city.

Forestry output efficiency is key to forestry development. China is now promoting the development of forestry, and thus the research on forestry output efficiency is of practical significance. Through the data envelopment analysis (DEA)-Malmquist index, spatial autocorrelation model, and fixed effect model of panel data, in this study, we analyzed the forestry output efficiency of China with indicators, such as the fixed asset input, employed personnel, total output value, and timber output, and drew the following conclusions. In the time series, the forestry total-factor productivity (TFP) in China saw a rapid increase, which is attributed to the technological progress change (TC), whereas the efficiency change (EC) imposed negative influences upon the forestry TFP. In the spatial distribution, there was a difference in the increase in the forestry output efficiency among the eastern, central, and western regions of China, with the eastern region having the fastest growth and the central region having the slowest growth. According to the spatial autocorrelation, there was spatial aggregation (high–high (HH) and low–low (LL)) with a significant positive correlation. Through the optimized fixed effect regression model, the fixed asset input, employed personnel, total output value, and timber output all had significant influences on the comprehensive technical efficiency of the forestry output, wherein the input indicators had negative influences, and the output indicators had positive influences.

Development trend of China instrument and meter industry looks good when the financial crisis is an ongoing crisis triggered by a dramatic rise in mortgage delinquencies and foreclosures in the world now. Anti-Risk capability has very important influence over the competitiveness in the long-term development vice versa. And instrument and meter enterprises in China must enhance their competitiveness force to increase market share. This paper constructs competitiveness evaluation index system of the listed companies in instrument and meter including six factors: Index Per Share, Profitability, Cash Flow, Capital Structure, Operation Ability, Development Ability, and adopts evaluation method by entropy method to make an empirical analysis on the competitiveness with the 16 Chinese listed companies in instrument and meter.
