These days long term evaluation (LTE) is considered the common mobile technology around the world and there is a need to maximize the network performance to satisfy the increased demand in terms of the cell capacity and coverage. These are many parameters in the network configuration and in the surrounded environment, which have great effects on the network performance. Examples of parameters are the system overhead rations, the required capacity of the network, neighbor cell load, and link budget parameters. The determination of the optimum configuration parameters, which achieve the best network performance, is a main step in the planning process in addition to it is continuous step in network optimization phase. In this study, the effects of some parameters will be investigating to get the best parameters that achieve the best network performance in terms of capacity of the cells and coverage area. The study will start by discussing introduction about LTE network components and protocols, and then the main parameters of the protocols will be revising. The study will display the results of changing many parameters related to LTE protocols and surrounding environment parameters on the LTE network performance.

4G LTE networks in big cities are already well available. Meanwhile, on small to medium-sized cities, the 4G LTE network is not evenly distributed and maximized. This study chooses the variable tilting antenna to the coverage area, because in sending information from a base station using an antenna. The average RSRP value (dBm) of the existing base station in the calculation with a distance of 200 m is -122.90 dBm, a distance of 500 m is -136.79 dBm, and a distance of 1000 m -147.30 dBm. Meanwhile, in the simulation with a distance of 200 m of -108.22 dBm, a distance of 500 m of -121.81 dBm, and a distance of 1000 m of -132.69 dBm. The coverage area value of the existing base station in the calculation is 5.29%, while in the simulation it is 11.18%. The average RSRP value (dBm) at optimal conditions for calculations at a distance of 200 m is -80.13 dBm, at a distance of 500 m is -94.03 dBm and at a distance of 1000 m is -104.56 dBm. Meanwhile, the simulation at a distance of 200 m is -98.09 dBm, at a distance of 500 m is -112.79 dBm and at a distance of 1000 m is -123.31 dBm. The value of the coverage area for the calculation is 20.32%, while for the simulation it is 15.01%. The current need for base stations in Trenggalek District that has been met is 68%.

The problem that often occurs in malls or supermarkets is the use of EDC as a non-cash payment tool for alternative customers. However, the use of EDC machines sometimes experiences problems, namely when customers enter data so that transactions take longer, so this study aims to analyze the optimization of EDC placement in shopping center buildings. This research method is to measure the parameters, namely the RSCP and the closest antenna coverage from the EDC. In this study, three samples were taken, namely Cassa 1, 2 and 3 at Matahari Department Store Malang Town Square. The results of this study were obtained that the Drive Test in the Matahari room showed that Cassa-1, Cassa-2 and Cassa-3 received RSCP with green color which means good. Two of the three tools, namely Drive Test and Mobile can display RSCP with a value that is not too much difference. Especially for EDC is only able to visually display the RSCP and the results of previous calculations, the value of ten antennas which is in the Matahari room has a coverage area below 10 m. And the UG-12 antenna, which is the closest antenna to Cassa-3,  that is outside the antenna coverage, while the UG-08 antenna can still reach the Cassa-3 area. This shows that the placement of EDC has met the requirements to get adequate signal quality and the position of the Cassa table can be moved according to the antenna coverage calculation on the Link budget and Path Loss calculations

The increasing needs and demands of diverse services by the users to be able to exchange and obtain information in real time, reliable, and flexible to be one of the problems faced by existing communication technology. WLAN on the IEEE 802.11 standard is one of the wireless technologies that can be the solution of the problem. It has a relatively small area of ??communication that is between 20-70 meters only, only able to serve up to 2007 stations, and has considerable energy consumption, causing some systems contained in the WLAN in IEEE 802.11 standard less work maximally. With these shortcomings, the WLAN on the IEEE 802.11 standard introduces a new task group called IEEE 802.11ah. IEEE 802.11ah is a new WLAN standard working on the 900 MHz frequency spectrum, a 1 kilometer communications coverage area, capable of serving 8192 stations with new AID hierarchies, has lower energy consumption and can increase throughput value by RAW mechanism. This study will make changes to the number of RAW slots in the IEEE 802.11ah to see how they affect the network performance. In this research it is found that the change of RAW slot number influence to network performance, in this case is throughput, average delay, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption.

Worldwide interoperability microwave access (WiMAX) is an 802.16 wireless standard that delivers high speed, provides a data rate of 100 Mbps and a coverage area of 50 km. Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) is flexible and offers low-cost telephony for clients over IP. However, there are still many challenges that must be addressed to provide a stable and good quality voice connection over the internet. The performance of various parameters such as multipath channel model and bandwidth over the Star trajectoryWiMAX network were evaluated under a scenario consisting of four cells. Each cell contains one mobile and one base station. Network performance metrics such as throughput and MOS were used to evaluate the best performance of VoIP codecs. Performance was analyzed via OPNET program14.5. The result use of multipath channel model (disable) was better than using the model (ITU pedestrian A). The value of the throughput at 15 dB was approximately 1600 packet/sec, and at -1 dB was its value 1300 packet/se. According to data, the Multipath channel model of the disable type the value of the MOS was better than the ITU Pedestrian A type.

The continuous growth in mobile data traffic and limited license wireless spectrum have led to dramatically increase the demand of the radio spectrum. It is widespread the concern about the coexistence of long term evolution (LTE) and Wi-Fi in the unlicensed band. There are several techniques have been proposed to enable the coexistence of LTE and Wi-Fi in the unlicensed band, but these works are targeted on the impact of the LTE to the Wi-Fi network performance. An experiment is carried out in this work to evaluate the impact of Wi-Fi signal on the video streaming in the LTE network. The experimental test comprised of the national instrument (NI) universal software radio peripheral (USRP) 2953R that is controlled by the LabVIEW Communication LTE application framework. Extensiveexperiments are carried out under two scenarios, i.e. (1) Coexistence of LTE and Wi-Fi signal, (2) LTE signal only. Performance evaluations are carried out with different Modulation and coding schemes (MCS) values and different mode of operations, i.e. frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) mode. The results illustrated that the interference from Wi-Fi signal caused the performance degradation of the LTE network in throughput and the power received by user equipment (UE).

Adoption of alternative-fuel vehicles requires a network of conveniently located fuel stations capable of serving the movement patterns of potential users. One hindrance to planning an effective network of stations is the difficulty of integrating the competing views of multiple stakeholders into an agreeable solution. This paper reports on a collaborative geodesign methodology applied to the problem of compressed natural gas fueling locations in the southwestern U.S.A. Geodesign is a multi-stakeholder spatial planning process that has gained currency in the GIS community but has not been applied to fuel infrastructure previously. We have developed an open-source interactive geovisual platform called Collablocation and a structured group process to facilitate interactive exploration of scenarios with multiple spatial data layers and to permit real-time computation and evaluation of network performance characteristics. For the pilot workshop we recruited expert stakeholders from industry, government, and local organizations. Breakout groups reached convergence on six locations on the I-10 and I-80, and at the Arizona–Mexico border, and several other less precise areas of need were identified. A post-workshop survey indicated high satisfaction with the technical features of the platform and the workshop design, and highlighted the ease of use and exchange of information.

Information technology in the field of transmission that is currently developing, one of which is Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi devices provide user convenience in carrying out their activities. The quality of Wi-Fi network performance can be known by the reception of the signal received by the user. If the placement of an access point (AP) is done correctly, the network will be optimized. There are several propagation models in the room that can be used as a guideline in determining the placement of the AP, one slope model is a way to measure the average level of a building and only depends on the distance of the transmitter and receiver. This research was conducted in order to overcome the problem of Wi-Fi network area coverage at the Office of Communication and Information of the City of Palembang. This study conducted an experiment to change the layout of AP's placement, measure and calculate data in priority with the one slope model. The results of measurements and calculations carried out analysis and comparison in order to determine the results of the experiments conducted. The results of this study indicate that an attempt to change the AP layout with one slope model can overcome existing problems and get better Wi-Fi coverage area performance. In the calculation with the one slope model of the 2-trial access point placement results in a decrease and an increase in signal. The signal reduction occurred in experiment 1, whereas in experiment 2 (design 2) the signal increased by 1.46dBm.

As such, LTE (Long Term Evolution) comes to light. LTE serves as a unified standardfor the new generation of mobile communications, equipped with high spectral efficiency, high peak rate, high mobility, flat networkarchitecture and other advantages. Huawei has played a very important role in the commercialization of LTE. As a sponsor of NGMN,Huawei has been actively involved in the research of some key projects of NGMN, such as network self-optimization, system architectureand Network performance evaluation and so on. This paper mainly introduces the problems encountered in the optimization of LTEnetwork coverage, the practical problems encountered by the LTE project team in Qingdao and the analysis and solutions to the problems.At the same time, this paper discusses in detail on the LTE network optimization process.
