This paper aims to investigate the relationship of the weave combination and the moldability for dome-shaped fabrics. The weave combination plays a fundamental role in composing the dome shape for the dome-shaped fabric. Twelve concentric-round patterns were designed according to different weave arrangements varied systematically. It is found that a better dome shape could be formed using the weave sequence with long floats in the outer circle and short floats in the inner circle, compared to the opposite weave sequence. This is because the weave with long floats is easy to shrink and the weave with short floats is easy to invade. The larger the shrinkage in the outer edge, the more area could be pulled forward to the center to form the dome. The dome effect could be further strengthened by the shrinkage of long floats in the middle circle of the concentric-round. In addition, the washing treatment could give a positive influence on the moldability, as the study result shows that the dome depth of specimens was better after washing than before washing.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to enrich the explanation of the interplay between internal and external – or district shared – exploration and exploitation capabilities as antecedents of a firm’s radical and incremental innovation. Previous studies do not differentiate between exploration and exploitation in district shared capabilities and how they interact with internal capabilities.Design/methodology/approachThe paper uses hierarchical regression analysis to test the quadratic and moderating effects in a sample of 1,019 Spanish firms.FindingsResults show an increasingly positive effect on radical innovation of exploration capabilities, enhanced by shared capabilities in exploration. In the case of incremental innovation, the study finds evidence of an increasingly positive influence of exploitation capabilities and a concave relationship of exploration capabilities. Moreover, shared exploitation capabilities weaken the effect of internal exploitation capabilities and also have a direct effect on incremental innovation. Therefore, the two capabilities are interchangeable in the effect they have on incremental innovation.Practical implicationsDepending on the firm’s innovation strategy, intra-district firms should develop specific capabilities and/or concentrate on adopting the shared capabilities in the destination.Originality/valueThe study furthers the understanding of the relationship between exploration and radical innovation, and between exploitation and incremental innovation, which is more complex than previously depicted. The study also differentiates between exploration and exploitation in shared capabilities, enriching understanding of the competitiveness of district firms.

School is essential during the process of students individual growing. School well-being important to be paid attention to in order to provide comfort for students. A research proves that one student will be comfortable getting surrounded by friendly teachers and friends who bring positive influence at school. Students of school with unfriendly environment behave negatively by doing things like playing truant, fighting with other students, smoking, and vandalism which are known as student’s delinquencies. This research aims to observe the relationship of school well-being with juvenile delinquencies by students in SMKN 2 Kota Kupang. This is a quantitative research used 330 students. The result proves that there is a significant negative relationship between the two variables which is -0.255 with the significance value of 0.000. The result also shows that there is a significant negative relationship among all of the aspects of school well-being with the delinquency.

AbstractHumic acids (HAs) stimulate the growth of several plant species by regulating their hormonal and redox metabolisms. Nevertheless, studies on the relationship of these substances with the plant-associated microbiota are almost nonexistent. Here, we hypothesized that the effect of HAs occurs in parallel with the regulation of the plant-associated bacterial community. Our results show the positive influence of HAs on the growth of rice and its stimulation of the root system. Metataxonomics revealed that the structure and composition of root bacterial communities were affected upon the application of HAs. Chitinophaga and Mucilaginibacter were the predominant genera in HA-treated roots. These bacteria produce enzymes that degrade compounds like those present in the wall of fungi, oomycetes, and nematode eggs. Pseudomonas and the Gp 1 group of Acidobacteria, both siderophore-producers and plant-growth promoters were also enriched, although with lower abundances. Given these results, we suggest that plants recruit these microorganisms in response to the stress caused by the HA-root interaction. For the first time, our findings indicate that HA-stimulated plants adopt the ecological strategy of recruiting members of the bacterial community that are candidates for the suppression of pathogens and, therefore, involved in plant defense.

The paper empirically investigates the relationship between capital structure and the performance of listed banks in Bangladesh using panel data over the period of five years from 2014-2018. To estimate the association between leverage level and bank performance the Panel Corrected Standard Error (PCSE) model is used in this study and the findings indicate that long term debt has a positive influence on the performance of banks which is measured in terms of ROA and ROE. This implies that long term debts are associated with the higher performance of banks listed in Bangladesh. The regression results also reveal that the capital structure component of total debt has no statistically significant impact on ROA, ROE and EPS but it has a significant positive impact on the performance of banks measured by price earning ratio. Furthermore, this analysis finds no relationship of long term debt and total debt with the EPS. These findings lead to conclude that capital structure has a weak to no influence on the performance of listed banks in Bangladesh. This paper is the first research attempt that investigates the impact of capital structure on the performance of all banks listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange in Bangladesh.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to extend the corporate social responsibility (CSR) literature by examining the influence of a firm’s external CSR activities (efforts directed toward external stakeholders of the firm) and internal CSR activities (efforts directed toward employees) on employees’ organizational citizenship behaviors toward the environment (OCBE) via organizational pride. The authors also examine the moderating role of perceived organizational support (POS) between CSR and organizational pride. Design/methodology/approach A total of 324 questionnaires were collected from the hospitality industry of Pakistan. Findings The results of this research revealed that dimensions of CSR (external and internal) have a positive influence on organizational pride. Also, organizational pride is found as an underlying mediating mechanism between the relationship of CSR and OCBE. The results also indicated that a higher level of POS strengthens the relationship between CSR and organizational pride. Practical implications The findings are limited to only hospitality industry. Organizations can enhance employees’ sense of pride through CSR activities, which subsequently enhance employees OCBE. The findings also suggested that organizational pride contains intrinsic motivation that can help employees to enhance their OCBE. Originality/value This research suggests that organizational pride and POS are important factors which influence the relationship between CSR and OCBE. Further, it also empirically tests this model in a developing country context.

Dr. A. Ertugrul has recently drawn attention in this journal to a new electrocardiographic observation in infants and children with hypothyroidism. This new electrocardiographic feature, emphasized by Dr. Ertugrul is the disappearance of the S-T segment and the dome-shape of the T waves. Accordingly, the relationship of these observed changes with the serum calcium level must be investigated; actually in hypercalcemia the electrocardiogram commonly reveals the absence of the S-T segment, dome-shaped T waves with shortening of the Q-T interval.
