The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of introduction of the physical computing strategy of Arduino Boards in a program design course on coding literacy and the effectiveness of the application in technical high school students. This study selected two classes of twelfth-grade students enrolled in a program design course at a technical high school in Southern Taiwan as the samples. One class was the control group (43 students), and the other was the experimental group (42 students). During the 18-week course, the control group carried out a DBL (design-based learning) programming project, and the experimental group carried out the DBL programming project using the physical computing strategy of Arduino boards. Pre- and posttests and a questionnaire survey were carried out, while ANCOVA (analysis of covariance) was used for evaluation purposes. In the course, students in the experimental group were randomly selected for semi-structured interviews to understand their learning status and to perform qualitative analysis and summarization. This study proposed the physical computing strategy of Arduino boards, featuring staged teaching content, practical teaching activities, and real themes and problem-solving tasks. The results show that the coding literacy of students in the different teaching strategy groups was significantly improved. However, in the Arduino course on DBL programming, the students in the experimental group had a significantly higher learning efficiency in coding literacy than those in the control group. Moreover, according to the qualitative analysis using student interviews, Arduino boards were found to improve students’ motivation to learn coding and to aid in systematically guiding students toward improving their coding literacy by combining their learning with DBL theory. Thus, Arduino technology can be effectively used to improve students’ programming abilities and their operational thinking in practically applying programming theories.

The article discusses manifestations of procrastination and Internet addiction in high school students within the context of risks of the modern society and education. The purpose of the study is to analyze interrelations between the phenomena of procrastination and Internet addiction in high school students’ personality. The empirical study involved 120 students of the 9th – 11th grades from the cities of Saratov and Balashovaged 15 to 17. We used the questionnaire called “The Degree of Procrastination Intensity” by M.A. Kiselev (system vector psychology SVP), the technique for determining Internet addiction by S.H. Chen and the test for Internet addiction identification by Kimberly Young. We used the author’s questionnaire for qualitative analysis of the interrelation between procrastination and Internet addiction of the subjects. The established relationships between the phenomena of procrastination and Internet addiction (analysis of correlation relationships, typological analysis).New data have been obtained that reveal the nature of the determination of these phenomena in a sample of high school students interacting in modern conditions of education.

Having a Nationalism Value is a duty for every citizen. In other words, it is an unconditional value. At the same time, the issue of racial disunity has been grown lately. This issue is related to religion. Most compelling evidence, high school students Nationalism Value moreover theirs who follow spiritual organization has been descending due to the incorporation between religion and nationality. The scope of this field research is within SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo. Qualitative analysis method supported by descriptive statistical data is being used in this study. As a result, this research found that Nationalism Value can be instilled through classroom learning, recitation and activities in the spiritual program. The value of Unity and Patriotism, which constitutes for Nationalism Value, is invested through verbal and non verbal communication. For this reason, Islamic religion teacher is the most crucial agent in instilling Nationalism Values to spiritual activists. In the event that 57% of students have a high Unity Value and 68% of students have high Patriotism Value, henceforth the Nationalism's Value of spiritual activists tends to be high.

The main objective of this chapter is to extend the discussion of language and the use of semiotic registers in chemistry lessons. Audio and video recordings, students' notebooks, photographs of content, and activities recorded on the blackboard in chemistry lessons for high school students taught in a public school in the interior of the State of São Paulo enabled the construction of multimodal narratives (MNs). The qualitative analysis of the MNs allowed the identification and understanding of the semiotic registers present in eight lessons conducted by a chemistry teacher. The study revealed several semiotic registers present in the lessons, but there is little exploration of the processes of conversion between semiotic registers by the teacher and therefore by the students. The use of different semiotic registers without the necessary understanding of them can result in difficulties in the teaching and learning processes of chemical concepts.

All of us cannot imagine adolescents' daily communication without humor and making fun of each other. Jokes can help strengthen friendships, smooth out the awkwardness, or maintain status in the group, but sometimes jokes become a means of humiliation and bullying. Despite many studies, determining the demarcation line between comic and aggressive words is quite challenging. This border remains uncertain. This paper aims to identify characteristics in which a joke becomes offensive and can develop into bullying. The article presents the results of a qualitative analysis of 72 interviews with middle and high school students. We identify three situations when a joke is perceived as aggression. Firstly, If a fun statement emphasizes the differences between the adolescent and the group, it makes one feel "inferior" compared to peers. Secondly, the difference in statuses between a speaker and an interlocutor exists, leading to no reply to a joke using a joke. In that case, the joke ceases to be a part of the dialogue and becomes a means of reinforcing inequality. Thirdly, if not all participants are aware of "the rules of the game," they cannot understand the context of reading the joke. That means the statement is interpreted in different ways by the parties, leading to resentment. The findings can help design effective bullying prevention measures in the school environment.

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of formation of professionalism of pedagogical high school students with different level of personal stability. The role of professional ideas as the characteristics of the professionalization of the subject is revealed. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the peculiarities of development of a professional was carried out on the basis of the author’s methods of assessing of professional ideas of students distributed in four groups, corresponding to the type of their professional orientation: “organizers”, “subject teachers”, “communicators” and “intellectuals”. Analysis of the ideas about the object of future activity of students with different levels of stability demonstrated the existence of differences in the evaluation of the image parameters. It turned out that psychological stability is inversely interconnected with such parameters of ideas about the object as the activity and clarity. Indicators of ideas about the object of activity are also associated with the type of pedagogical orientation. The obtained data allow us to conclude that the personal stability of the subject in combination with the type of his professional orientation form an individual way of formation of the subject of pedagogical activity.
