The article considers the problem of qualitative selection and selection of candidates for service in the territorial bodies (divisions) of the Rosgvardiya. Psychological selection, together with its psychophysiological component, is a part of professional selection aimed at identifying such employees who, according to their moral, psychophysiological and psychological qualities, most correspond to the specific requirements of future activity. At the same time, highly effective psychological selection should have an integrated approach that corresponds to two principles, the first is the principle of differentiation and dynamism, the second is the reliability and prognosticality of the methods used. The experience of using a polygraph in the police in the course of personnel work is considered. The results of the study of candidates for work in private organizations and for service in the Rosgvardiya are presented. Professional psychological selection is also considered as a set of measures aimed at ensuring a high-quality selection of the organization's personnel based on an assessment of the compliance of the level of development of the necessary psychophysiological (individual) qualities and personality properties with the requirements of professional activity. The socio-psychological and personal characteristics of candidates identified in the process of psychodiagnostic research and negatively affecting their further service are summarized.

We examined whether an expected future activity (exercise vs. relaxation) impacts a present behavior (performance on an intellectual task) that occurs prior to this activity. Across two experiments ( n = 320 and n = 466), the influence of expected exercise compared to relaxation on present intellectual performance was moderated by general self-efficacy (GSE)—a core personality trait that determines people’s confidence that they can surmount physically or intellectually challenging activities. Participants high in GSE had better intellectual performance when they were expecting to exercise versus relax, whereas the effect reversed under low GSE. Moderated mediation analyses suggested that task-focused attention (i.e., participants’ level of focus while solving the intellectual task) accounted for a significant proportion of variance between the future activity (exercise vs. relaxation) and present intellectual performance across different GSE levels. These findings document a previously unexplored channel through which future expectations shape present outcomes.

The future of the energy sector depends on the younger generation. The paper presents the results of the study, the aim of which was to determine to what extent younger generation is pro-ecological and pro-social, and whether they will include pro-ecological and pro-social activities in the management of energy companies. It is especially important to implement sustainable management in the energy sector. The study found that only 33.9% of young people are highly pro-ecological and 28.6% highly pro-social. As many as 83.0% of the younger generation show low and medium interest in environmental protection. Declarations of young people concerning high degree of inclusion of pro-ecological and pro-social activities in management are at the level of 49.9% and 58.1%. However, in many cases, these intentions do not coincide with the high pro-ecological and pro-social attitude of young people. This means that their future activity for sustainable management may be low. According to the survey, the younger generation to a large extent is not prepared to continue efforts for sustainable development in the future in the energy companies.

Measuring performance efficiency indicators is considered one of the most important topics that public or private companies should undertake, as it provides extensive information on its reality and highlights the most important strengths and weaknesses that guide the company's management, which is considered a fundamental basis for the decision-making process. This study was conducted on the General Company for Agricultural Supplies "GCAS" of the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture in order to estimate the criteria of the efficiency of its performance in the years (2016) and (2018) and to make comparisons between the two years. The results showed that most of the performance criteria for the year (2018) fell below the base year (2016), which requires a pause to improve the performance efficiency in order to develop its future activity in a manner commensurate with its position in preparing the various agricultural requirements that the agricultural sector deals with. The research included some conclusions related to the decrease in the efficiency of the company's performance in managing working capital in (2018) comparing to the year (2016) as the liquidity ratio fell below the acceptable rates, which indicates that the company's ability to meet its obligations in the future has decreased. The working capital turnover rate also decreased, indicating that it was not used correctly in addition to other reasons. The research also included some important recommendations that enable the company to overcome the failures that it faced during the study period.

The construction and operation of autonomous robots is heavily based of systemic conceptualizations of the reality constituted by the robot, its controller and the environment where it performs. In this chapter we address the role that computer ontologies play in the whole life cycle—engineering and operation—of autonomous robots: from its conception and construction by human engineering teams to deployment and autonomous operation in dynamic and uncertain environments. This chapter summarizes the state of the art, gives some examples and establishes a roadmap for future activity in this domain to produce shareable ontologies that could streamline autonomous robot development and exploitation.

Weather prediction is usually performed for a reference in planning future activity. The prediction is performed by considering several parameters, such as temperature, air pressure, humidity, wind, rainfall, and others. In this study, the temperature, as one of weather parameters, is predicted by using time series from January 2015 to December 2017. The data was obtained from Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) weather measurement station in Muaro Anai, Padang. The predictions were carried out by using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), and the hybrid of CNN-MLP methods. The parameters used in the CNN method, such as the number of filters and kernel size, and used in the MLP method, such as the number of hidden layers and number of neurons, were selected by performing the hyperparameter tuning procedure. After obtaining the best parameters for both methods, the performance of both methods was evaluated by calculating the value of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and R2. Based on the results, we found that the prediction by CNN is more accurate than other method. This is indicated by the highest value of R2 of the prediction obtained by CNN method.

We present a new numerical model of the Eta-Aquariid and Orionid meteor shower. Through the modelling of millions meteoroids released from comet 1P/Halley, we simulate the characteristics of each Eta-Aquariid and Orionid apparition between 1985 and 2050. The modelled showers activity duration, shape, maximum zenithal hourly rates (ZHR) values, and mass distributions are compared with several decades of meteor observations in the optical and radar range. Our simulations suggest that the age of the Eta-Aquariids shortly exceeds 5000 years, while the Orionids are composed of older material. Several Eta-Aquariid outbursts are expected in the future, in particular around 2023-2024 and 2045-2046. The evolution of 1P/Halley's meteoroid streams is strongly influenced by mean motion resonances with Jupiter, that might be responsible of a ~12 year cycle in the Orionids activity variations.
