Over the past 4 years, cancer immunotherapy has significantly prolonged survival time of patients with prostate cancer, melanoma, lung cancer, and liver cancer, but its side effects are also impressive. Different types of the immune therapeutic agents have different on-target or off-target toxicity due to high affinity or weak specificity, respectively. Treatment toxicity spectrums vary greatly even in patients with the same type of cancer. Common toxicities are fevers, chills, diarrhea colitis, maculopapular rash, hepatitis, and hormone gland disorder; therefore, routine monitoring of thyroid function, liver function, renal function, and complete blood count are absolutely necessary once treatment begins. Some side effects are reversible, and can be processed through the standard medicines. However, serious toxicities are lethal, which should be frequently followed-up, identified at an early stage and immediately symptomatic treated by high-dose immunosuppressors. In this case, thereafter, the same agent should not be challenged again.

Cancer is uncontrolled cell growth which starts consuming cell nourishment and keeps on multiplying indefinably. There are 100 plus different types of cancers that may affect any part of the body. In the past 26 years, the cancer incidence rate has been changed drastically in India. To control it early-stage detection of cancer plays a very important role. Early-stage detection of cancer helps in better diagnosis will also lower the chances of dying due to this deadly disease. It will impact considerably on the patient’s recovery when it is more treatable. Early Cancer detection or premalignant disease detection in the human body is possible through screening tests. Several screening methods have been tested, applied and proven to be very much efficient in reducing death rate due to cancer. This paper survey’s how learning techniques can be efficiently applied, tested and showed promising results in early-stage cancer detection through several screening methods.

BackgroundPharmacological treatments for chronic diseases cause side effects. It is important to identify which of these effects could be avoided because it is a cause to drop the treatment. In the chronic psychiatric illness, one of the problems is the induction of changes in prolactin (PRL) serum.PurposeReview of the literature that has been published to assess the association between different types of antipsychotic drugs and prolactin levels.MethodLiterature search on PubMed, NCBI literature in the last three years using MeSH terms: “prolactin” and “antipsychotics”.ConclusionsThe increase of prolactin is a common effect poorly studied in the past. After several studies have been able to achieve treatments, called “atypical”, which cause less effect on this substance. For example, asenapine, olanzapine and zyprasidone have a slight effect on PRL levels. Aripripazole could even result in lower levels probably by partial agonism on dopamine receptors. The authors report the case of a 27-year-old woman with muscle-specific receptor tyrosine kinase antibody positive myasthenia with predominantly ocular and bulbar symptoms. Both edrophonium and low dose (4×30 mg/day) pyridostigmin resulted in cholinergic side effects including fasciculation mainly in the facial and neck muscles, and excessive salivation. The patient responded well to a relatively high dose of chronic corticosteroid treatment (methyprednisolone 64mg/day), but the decrease of the corticosteroid dose below 16 mg/day induced exacerbation of the clinical symptoms. Immunosuppression with azathioprine and methotrexate failed to maintain the clinical improvement. However, plasma exchange was always very effective, and all clinical symptoms improved significantly. The authors conclude that patients with muscle-specific receptor tyrosine kinase antibody positive myasthenia gravis should have an individual treatment protocol differing from those used in patients who do not have this antibody but are positive for acetylcholine-receptor antibody. Identification of the pathogenic antibody in the early stage of myasthenia gravis may help to develop the optimal, individualized treatment strategy, to avoid severe side effects, and to achieve fast improvement. The purpose of this study was to describe patients’ characteristics, correlation between staging non-seminoma cancer and chemotherapy response. Data on age, location of tumor, staging, serum levels of the tumor marker post operative, adjuvant therapy, chemotherapy side effects, and response of patient to chemotherapy were gained from medical records in Soetomo Hospital Surabaya from January 2012 to December 2015, and analyzed with SPSS. Correlation between staging and chemotherapy response, correlation primary tumor staging (pT) and Metastasis (M), correlation regional lymph nodes staging (N) and metastasis (M), correlation serum tumor marker and chemotherapy response was proccessed by Spearman correlation test. There were no significant correlation between pT staging and M and no significant correlation between N and M staging. Based on tumor markers (S), mostly patients were S2. There were no significant correlation between the response to chemotherapy and serum tumor marker levels. In category of staging group, the most are 14 patients stage III. BEP was the most adjuvant Chemotherapy. Nausea and vomiting were The most complained during chemotherapy. Anemia were the most hematologic side effects of chemotherapy. There are no significant correlation between the staging of non-seminoma and the response to chemotherapy. Conclusion: Non seminoma mostly happened in young males. Non-seminoma responses to chemotherapy. Patients in early stage would give a good response to chemotherapy compared to those with advanced stage. After chemotherapy, evaluation should be done to the patients' complaints and complete blood count to detect side effects.

Various types of intermediate-sized (10-nm) filaments have been found and described in many different cell types during the past few years. Despite the differences in the chemical composition among the different types of filaments, they all yield common structural features: they are usually up to several microns long and have a diameter of 7 to 10 nm; there is evidence that they are made of several 2 to 3.5 nm wide protofilaments which are helically wound around each other; the secondary structure of the polypeptides constituting the filaments is rich in ∞-helix. However a detailed description of their structural organization is lacking to date.

Abstract Gas Assisted Etching (GAE) is the enabling technology for High Aspect Ratio (HAR) circuit access via milling in Focused Ion Beam (FIB) circuit modification. Metal interconnect layers of microelectronic Integrated Circuits (ICs) are separated by Inter-Layer Dielectric (ILD) materials, therefore HAR vias are typically milled in dielectrics. Most of the etching precursor gases presently available for GAE of dielectrics on commercial FIB systems, such as XeF2, Cl2, etc., are also effective etch enhancers for either Si, or/and some of the metals used in ICs. Therefore use of these precursors for via milling in dielectrics may lead to unwanted side effects, especially in a backside circuit edit approach. Making contacts to the polysilicon lines with traditional GAE precursors could also be difficult, if not impossible. Some of these precursors have a tendency to produce isotropic vias, especially in Si. It has been proposed in the past to use fluorocarbon gases as precursors for the FIB milling of dielectrics. Preliminary experimental evaluation of Trifluoroacetic (Perfluoroacetic) Acid (TFA, CF3COOH) as a possible etching precursor for the HAR via milling in the application to FIB modification of ICs demonstrated that highly enhanced anisotropic milling of SiO2 in HAR vias is possible. A via with 9:1 aspect ratio was milled with accurate endpoint on Si and without apparent damage to the underlying Si substrate.

In the past few years, several biased ligands acting at the mu-opioid receptor were reported in the literature. These agonists are aimed at reducing pain while having fewer side effects than morphine, the gold standard of opioid analgesics. In this mini-review, we describe and discuss the recent advances in mu-biased ligands actually in preclinical and clinical development stages, including the latest U.S. Food and Drug Administration review of oliceridine, a biased mu-agonist for moderate to severe acute pain treatment developed by the company Trevena.

For the past few decades, the mechanisms of immune responses to cancer have been exploited extensively and significant attention has been given into utilizing the therapeutic potential of the immune system. Cancer immunotherapy has been established as a promising innovative treatment for many forms of cancer. Immunotherapy has gained its prominence through various strategies, including cancer vaccines, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), adoptive T cell cancer therapy, and immune checkpoint therapy. However, the full potential of cancer immunotherapy is yet to be attained. Recent studies have identified the use of bioinformatics tools as a viable option to help transform the treatment paradigm of several tumors by providing a therapeutically efficient method of cataloging, predicting and selecting immunotherapeutic targets, which are known bottlenecks in the application of immunotherapy. Herein, we gave an insightful overview of the types of immunotherapy techniques used currently, their mechanisms of action, and discussed some bioinformatics tools and databases applied in the immunotherapy of cancer. This review also provides some future perspectives in the use of bioinformatics tools for immunotherapy.
