Similar to plate girders with slender web, a welded I-section beam-column does not fail when its web buckles. To take advantage of this post-local-buckling strength, this paper at first presents a method for calculating the M-P-φ relationship of I-sections with buckled web and residual stresses. The in-plane ultimate load of beam-columns with slender web can then be calculated by using this M-P-φ relationship. Nine eccentrically loaded specimens were tested to failure. The agreement between the calculated and test results confirms the validity of the analytical method. Furthermore, a simplified design formula is presented for predicting the in-plane capacity of beam-columns with slender web.

Overall 12 specimens were experimentally investigated in this paper to study the hysteretic behaviors of the concrete-filled square CFRP-steel tubular (S-CFRP-CFST) beam-columns. The test results indicated that CFRP can provide transverse confinement effect and longitudinal strengthening effect for the concrete filled square steel tubular (S-CFST) beam-columns effectively and the local buckling of the steel tube is deferred. The hysteretic load-deflection curves and the hysteretic moment-curvature curves at the mid-span of all the specimens are generally plump, and it shows these specimens have good hysteretic performance. In the later loading period, the load bearing capacity drops.

Plate girders with corrugated webs with angles were developed in order to promote the flange local buckling strength of conventional plate girders with corrugated webs. The width to thickness ratio of flanges can be reduced with angles. However corrugated webs cannot contribute to the flexural stiffness and strength of PGCW, corrugated webs of PGCW-A can. A full-scale test was conducted to evaluate the flexural capacity of PGCW-A. As a result, the flexural capacity of a specimen of PGCW-A increased by 163% compared to a specimen of PGCW.

Distortional buckling which is one of the most important buckling modes for cold-formed lipped channel sections as well as local buckling and global buckling may change mechanical properties and decrease the ultimate load of members. This paper reviews research achievements in distortional buckling, compares the existed design methods according to five national (regional) codes and the latest research achievements. Based on the comparison between five calculating data and test results, it is shown that the design method of North American specification has widespread application and relatively high accuracy, which could supply references for structural design.

The Broyden method for the numerical calculation of Moment-Thrust-Curvature (M-P-Φ) relationship of beam-column is put forward, which is suitable for all combinations of moment, thrust and curvature considering the effect of residual stresses. The relationship problem is simplified as two nonlinear equations of four variables. When two of the 4 variables are given, the relationship can be obtained by Broyden method. The advantages of Broyden method are discussed and the iterative calculation process is listed. The method offers significant improvements in accuracy, robustness and calculation amount of the solution, which can be used for beam-columns with any type section.

HSS (Hollow Structural Steel) tubular members used in buildings and bridges for structural application is rapidly developing technique in the recent era. Since, they have many advantages over RC structural members. This paper presents the application of CFRP on HSS tubular members under axial compression. Typical failure occurred during axial loading was local buckling, and this could be reduced by wrapping CFRP sheets around the HSS tubular columns were investigated experimentally. Eight steel samples are used in this test. Among eight specimens, two are unwrapped and the remaining six columns are externally wrapped by CFRP. CFRP sheets are used as strips, and the width of the sheets are constant. The spacing between the CFRP sheets is also constant. All columns are tested in column tester till the maximum to understand their failure modes, Ultimate load, load Vs. Displacement, Stress- Strain behaviour and Ductility index. Finally, results obtained from the experimental investigation could be validated with ANSYS software. The ultimate load and displacements from ANSYS validation are closely match with test results.

Overall 12 specimens were experimentally investigated in this paper to study the hysteretic behaviors of the concrete-filled circular CFRP-steel tubular (C-CFRP-CFST) beam-columns. The test results indicated that CFRP can provide transverse confinement effect and longitudinal strengthening effect for the concrete filled circular steel tubular (C-CFST) beam-columns effectively and the local buckling of the steel tube is deferred. With the increase of the strengthening factor of the longitudinal CFRP, the damage scale reduces.

This study aims to determine the relationship of loneliness with problematic internet use on boarding students on Silaberanti street in Siantan jaya Opposite Ulu 1 Palembang city. Research subjects numbered 220 people using random sampling methods. Data was collected using a 60 item problematic internet use scale and a 60 item loneliness. Realibility is generated on scale of problematic internet use of 0,955 and loneliness of 0,946.Hypothesis testing uses product moment correlation analysis techniques. Hypothesis test results showed a positive relationshif between loneliness with problematic internet use on boarding students on Silaberanti street in Siantan jaya Opposite Ulu 1 Palembang city r= 0,684 with a significance level of 0,000 (p<0,01). Loneliness in this study made an effective contribution of 46,8% to problematic internet use which can be seen from the coefficient of determination (r²) that is equel to 0,468.
