Symbols, which are considered as a reflection of an organization’s culture, also provide clues about an organization’s character and value system. The positioning of symbols in the business world and academic studies thus remains an important issue. This study, which measures the effects of organizational symbolism on organizational commitment and firm performance, carries out a scale development study to evaluate the concept of symbolism. For this analysis, a questionnaire was provided to 727 family-owned business employees. In the scale development section, the organizational symbolism was divided into three dimensions, where it was observed that structural and administrative symbolism, along with outward symbolism, affect organizational commitment and firm performance, although narrative and discursive symbolism do not affect organizational commitment and firm performance. The findings are partially consistent with the current literature. In the “Discussion” section, suggestions are given to academicians and administrators.

This study aims to analyze the influence of salary, job satisfaction, organizational commitment to Intention at PT. Pembangunan Jaya. The research population is employees of PT. Pembanguna Jaya and the sampling method used Slovin formula which produces 80 respondents to be examined by questionnaire. Salary is an important element that can affect employee performance because it is used to meet various employee needs. Salary is divided into four dimensions, namely salary level (pay level), compensation (benefit) salary increase (pay raise), structure and payroll administration (pay structure and administration). Job satisfaction is a positive feeling about someone's work from a characteristic evaluation. Job satisfaction is divided into job satisfaction towards work (work ef self), pay (pay), promotion opportunities (supervisor) and supervisors (co. workers). Organizational commitment is the extent to which employees take sides with the organization to maintain it. Organizational commitment is divided into three continence commitments, effective commitment and normative commitment. Turnover Intention is an employee's tendency or intention to stop working from his job. Turnover is divided into three dimensions based on intentions (intention to quit), information seeking activities (job search) and thinking of going out (thinking of quit). In this study salary levels of job satisfaction and organizational commitment have a positive effect.

Business development at this time is very tight, this is caused by a number of actors emerging business. To be successful in the business world, companies must pay attention to everything relating to human resources. factors that affect a person's performance is a factor in the organization's ability and motivation factors. In addition, organizational commitment can also support the performance of employees in work. PT Orela Shipyard is a company engaged in the field of shipbuilding projects. PT Orela Shipyard employee population by 51 employees. This study uses the technique of probabilty sampling stratified random sampling as a sampling technique. So there are 45 employees in the sample. The results of this study indicate that the ability to significantly influence employee performance, motivation significant effect on employee performance, and organizational commitment have a significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, the ability, motivation and organizational commitment have a significant effect on employee performance.

Organizational culture as the values, principles, traditions and ways of working shared by members of the organization and affect the way they act. Organizational commitment has an important role of employee performance. The commitment can be realized if the individual in the organization, running their rights and obligations according to their duties and functions and functions within the organization, because the achievement of organizational goals is the work of all members of the organization that are collective Vipraprastha, Sudja,  & Yuesti (2018). Respondents in this study are Civil Servants (PNS) at least have been working for 2 years. The number of respondents in this study were 86 respondents using Nonprobability technique that is saturated samples or often called total sampling. This research uses SMARTPLS 3 Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. The results of this study indicate that: 1) organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB); 2) Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) has positive and significant impact on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB); 3) Organizational Citizenship Behavior employee, 4) organizational culture has a positive effect on the performance of employees, either partially or through Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), 5) Organizational commitment has no effect on employee performance.

The research was carried out to find the influence of three dimensions of organizational commitment, namely affective commitment, continuity commitment, and normative commitment, toward organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) of employees.The research was conducted respectively from seven stations in operation areas of PT Kereta Api Daop VI Yogyakarta.The subject of research are 55 employees Data was derived from a survey, collected by applying questionnaires, analized by using multiple linier regression,and assisted by the application of SPSS 21 program.Based on the result of data analysis, it is showed that the three dimensions of organizational commitment, namely affective commitment (X1), continuity commitment (X2), and normative commitment (X3) influence partially or simultaneously on organizational citizenship behavior (Y) of employees, thus partially or simultaneously supporting the 5 hypotheses. These were indicated by the value of regression coefficient and the significant level of each factor which are 0.250 and 0.042; 0.386 and 0.001; 0.481and 0,000, respectively. Likewise, the value of F amounting to 30.520 with the significance level of 0,000, whereas adjusted R2 counting to 0.621. Furthermore, normative commitment indicates as the most dominant dimension that influences on organizational citizenship behavior of employees.

Embracing and managing diversity in today’s business world is an essential part of successful business practices as it brings various voices to a team, improves morale and increases overall productivity. However, manager face difficulties in understanding the value of each person’s unique abilities or voice, there may arise some instances where certain employees still have conflicts. Ineffective communication of key objectives results in confusion, lack of teamwork, and low morale. In the office of the attorney general and department of justice now going through a massive influx of young workforce in both gender with diverse educational background and from different ethnic groups have brought a challenge of having different sets of values, expectations, and work styles in the work place and also understanding the other’s culture has been a heavy task on managing work force in the organization. It is due to this regard that this study sought to investigate the influence of workforce diversity on employee performance in the office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The study specific objectives were to examine the influence of educational background diversity, ethnicity diversity, age diversity and gender diversity on employee performance. The theories guiding the study were the human capital theory, social identity theory, social exchange theory and social categorization theory. This study will use descriptive survey research design. The unit of observation was office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice in Nairobi City County, Kenya and the unit of observation was 5 Human Resource Managers and 50 Support Staff from HRM department. A census of 55 respondents was carried out. Primary data was collected using questionnaires. Quantitative data was analysed with the use of descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviations and presented using tables, graphs, charts and figures. Content analysis was used to test data that was qualitative in nature or aspect of the data collected from the open ended questions. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the extent to which the variables relate to each other. The study examined that educational background diversity, ethnicity diversity, age diversity and gender had a positive and significant relationship on employee performance. The study concluded that employees with diverse educational background promote higher levels of consistency, creativity because of their unique perspectives. Ethnicity diversity management improve gains in worker welfare and efficiency, leads to reduced turnover costs, fewer internal disputes and grievances, prevention of marginalization and exclusion of categories of workers, improved social cohesion and so on. Age diversity in the workplace provides a larger spectrum of knowledge, values, and preferences. Having a diverse gender within the organization leads to a wider talent pool, encourages different points of view and approaches that come from different life experiences and the organization to challenge gender stereotypes. The study recommended that the organization should employ people of different backgrounds in education so as to improve creativity and innovation. The organizational management has responsibilities when it comes to promoting and monitoring ethnic diversity policy in the workplace. It is highly essential for the organization to find effective ways to meet the challenges of age diversity because both the old and the young employees can make tremendous contributions to the organization, in their own unique way. The organization should encourage team leaders to select diverse groups for projects to ensure the genders do not naturally separate.

In an era in which rising costs, shrinking budgets, and personnel shortages are common, it is increasingly important to provide a positive work situation to ensure worker stability. Research indicates that job burnout is a negative response that is harmful to the employee and to the organization. Depersonalization, emotional exhaustion, and feeling a lack of accomplishment at work are all dimensions of job burnout. This study examined the association of job involvement, job stress, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment with burnout among correctional staff. The findings highlight the significance of these variables in relation to burnout. Specifically, job satisfaction had an inverse relationship with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and a sense of reduced accomplishment at work, whereas job stress had a significant positive relationship with depersonalization and emotional exhaustion. Job involvement also had a positive association with emotional exhaustion, whereas commitment to the organization had no relationship with any of the three dimensions of burnout.

Although it has been widely discussed in the literature, no scale has yet been developed to measure the consumption aspect of death. This study aims to develop a domain-specific death-related status consumption (DRSC) scale to bridge this gap in the field. Results reveal the following three dimensions of the scale: conspicuousness, planning, and showing respect. In four studies, which collate the views of 1,302 participants, both students and adults, the DRSC demonstrates internal consistency and validity across cultures (Turkey, the U.S., and culturally diverse sample). The importance of such a scale for the field is discussed.

This study extends the knowledge in green supply chain research by investigating the impacts of green supply chain management (GSCM) practices on employee engagement and organizational commitment through firm performance. The 268 respondents included in this study were employees of firms that implemented GSCM in Thailand. Our structural model was analysed using partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM). The results revealed that only social and operating performance mediated the impact of four different GSCM practices on employee engagement and organizational commitment, including environmental education, green marketing and green warehousing and distribution which have positive effects, and green manufacturing which has a negative effect on firm performance. Though these four GSCM practices are reported to have a significant influence on environmental and marketing performance, these two aspects of performance failed to mediate the relationship of these practices with employee engagement and organizational commitment. The results suggest that in order to enhance employee engagement and organizational commitment, firms should invest more in GSCM practice drivers of social and operating performance. These include environmental education, green marketing and green warehousing and distribution. Thus, we explained more clearly the mechanisms under which GSCM practices influence employee engagement and organizational commitment.

AbstractThis paper examines the impact of personality trait of dispositional affect and contextual variables of multiple commitments on organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) in two occupational groups. Three dimensions of OCBs were considered: helping, civic virtue and sportsmanship behaviors. We used positive and negative affectivity scale to measure dispositional affect. For commitments, we examined affective and normative organizational and occupational commitments. The data were collected from 180 engineers and 180 teachers. The findings show that affect, multiple commitments and occupation all have significant impacts on different dimensions of OCBs. Dispositional affect had the most influence on all three dimensions of OCBs. In addition, helping behavior is affected by normative organizational commitment while civic virtue behavior is influenced by affective commitments (both organizational and occupational) and occupation. Sportsmanship behavior is explained by occupation and affective organizational commitment. Occupation has been shown to make a unique contribution to understanding OCBs. The present study showed that the teachers, for example, exhibited more civic virtue and sportsmanship behaviors than the engineers. Implications of the findings for future research and practice are discussed.
