Spiny lobster nursery is done to produce more adaptive and uniform juvenile lobsters quality. Shelters used in spiny lobster nursery served to reduce physical contact among lobsters in the rearing tank. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of different shelter types on physiological response and growth of spiny lobster (Panulirus homarus) juvenile rearing in recirculating aquaculture systems. Lobsters with an average weight of 50.07 ± 2.89 g were reared for 60 days. They were fed once a day with trash fish. The daily feeding rate was 3-4% of total weight. This study used four types of shelter as treatments with two replications. PVC pipe shelter as control (K), individual shelter square shaped (IS ■), individual shelter triangle shaped (IS ▲), and individual shelter tube shaped (IS ●). The weight and length of the lobster carapace improved with the duration of the research in all treatments. Throughout the trial, glucose levels in controls were generally greater than those in specific shelf treatments. The reaction of lobster hemolymph total protein to different shelters is highly variable. Overall, the usage of individual shelters had a considerable positive influence on grown lobsters in this study. This is because individual shelter eliminates contact between lobsters, eliminating the possibility of cannibalism in the cultivation container. This study concludes that IS ■ used in rearing Panulirus homarus showed a lower stress response than the other treatments in terms of glucose and total protein lobster hemolymph during the study. IS ■ is the best because it reduced stress levels and yielded better total biomass among the other treatments.

Designing good recirculating aquaculture systems (RASs) is challenging in shrimp aquaculture. In this study, two sets of RASs were constructed using sea cucumber nursery tanks for rearing Litopenaeus vannamei. Recirculating aquaculture was supported by key technologies such as sewage collection and aeration systems adapted to the rectangular tanks and technologies for the removal of sewage, shrimp shells, and dead individuals. Six-hundred and eighty-five thousand juveniles were selected for rearing in the newly constructed RASs, where the average stocking density was 1013 shrimp/m3. During the recirculating aquaculture period of 53 days, the water temperature of the tanks was 24–31 °C, the salinity was 25–32‰, the pH was 6.4–8.2, the DO was ≥ 4.9 mg/L, the concentration of total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) was maintained between 0.17 and 4.9 mg/L, the concentration of nitrite nitrogen (NO2-N) was between 0.12 and 4.7 mg/L, and the total number of Vibrio bacteria remained between 330 and 9700 cfu/mL. At the end of the experiment, the final average weight of individual shrimp was 13.43 g, and the average yield reached 12.92 kg/m3. The great improvement in growth performance marks a breakthrough in RAS technology of shrimp, and it supports the use of an innovative methodology for the retrofitting and utilization of idle sea cucumber nursery tanks.

Purpose: study the biotechnical features of rearing juvenile giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) using recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).Materials and methods. Two fish-farming modules RAS and aquarian complex were used for the work. One of them has a total volume of 6.5 m3, the second - 14.5 m3. Larvae were reared in gasite cages of 0.021 m3 in an aquarian complex of two 200-liter aquariums. Larvae of one female prawn were used in an amount of 8500 units. At each stage of prawns' development we used different versions of feed of both animal and plant origin: artemia, minced fish, boiled chicken eggs (protein + yolk), beef liver and oat flakes.Results. Brood fish were kept at an average planting density of 6.2 individuals/m2, with a sex ratio of 1:4.5 (males: females). The planting density of larvae in cages was 2,125 units/cage or 101.2 units/liter. The average weight of juveniles during rearing of postlarvae at 130 days was 3.19 g. Juvenile yield was 49.9%. Specific growth rate of biomass varied from 4.87 to 3.68 %. Planting density of juveniles varied from 1775,6 units/m2 to 660,9 units/m2. As a result, the feeding coefficient was 5.24 units. Growing productivity was 362.7 pcs/m2 or 1156.8 g/m2 in the RAS module.Conclusion. There were established biotechnical peculiarities and production possibilities of growing young giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) using fish-breeding RAS and aquarian complex. Modernization of fish-feeding RAS and use of some recommendations on feeding suggest the possibility of their use for breeding and rearing of juvenile giant freshwater prawns in already existing warm-water enterprises, initially aimed at other objects of aquaculture.

The agricultural sector has an important role in supporting the Indonesian economy. But on the other hand, sometimes many community groups do not benefit due to problems that arise because the distribution chain of agricultural products are long enough, especially for farmers and consumers (end users). Of course the situation must be improved, so that the agricultural products of Indonesia can be enjoyed by consumers or farmers with proper. One of its efforts is by establishing an e-commerce based e-commerce system in agriculture. E-commerce based ecommerce system can be used as an alternative for farmers, used as a media campaign, communication and information and can cut the distribution chain of agricultural products marketing. The benefits felt by farmers and consumers directly and indirectly give a positive influence, especially from the broader marketing channels of agricultural products can increase production demand and spur the procurement of production among farmers and also the price offered to consumers will be cheaper so that sales in agricultural products can be more increased and profitable for farmers

Operation and effluent treatment costs are limiting factors for the success of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in meeting seafood demand in the United States. Adopting a capture-and-reuse waste management model similar to terrestrial agriculture farmers would allow RAS farmers to monetize effluent and offset production costs. The moisture content and nutrient profile of RAS effluent makes it a potential option for use as a hydroponic fertilizer. Treatment of RAS waste is needed to mineralize particulate-bound nutrients before becoming a viable hydroponic nutrient solution. Anaerobic treatment (AT), a method used by municipal and agricultural waste treatment facilities to reduce total solids, has been shown to successfully mineralize particulate-bound nutrients from RAS effluent. Continuously mixed anaerobic batch bioreactors were used to evaluate the degree to which AT may mineralize particulate-bound nutrients in solid RAS waste. Concentrations of twelve different macro- and micro-nutrients were analyzed in the waste before and after treatment. Effluent samples were analyzed to determine the fraction of each nutrient in the solid and aqueous forms. This study showed that AT is an effective method to mineralize particulate-bound nutrients in RAS effluent and the mineralization rate data may be used to design a pilot-scaled flow-through RAS effluent treatment system.

The present study aimed at evaluating differences in rotifer distribution in three estuarine zones in an inverse estuary located in the Semiarid Region of Brazil. Zones were chosen based on their proximity to the ocean and river border as a means of reflecting a horizontal salinity gradient. High freshwater discharge during the rainy season was the major determinant of rotifer composition. On the other hand, due to higher salinity values during the dry season, very low values of species richness and abundance were observed in all zones. Therefore, the study highlights the constraints of salinity and the positive influence of seasonality and river proximity on rotifer species in a semiarid estuarine environment.
