Information and communication technology (ICT) has the credit to be relatively more closely related to the society facilitating economic transactions to be easy and fast and social wellbeing in all walks of life. It has had global and international importance, as it has worked as an important tool in globalizing the world, and has become a pressing necessity of the globalized world. Moreover, its relevance in the globalized world is intensifying, as its constructive role is every day spiraling. Its vale in that sense will go on mounting. On the other hand, its evil-ridden uses and abuses are menacing the people and countries around the world. Delinquent people and rogue countries are using the technology for achieving their sinister objectives. This aspect of the technology is bothering policymakers, business executives and individuals in the society. In view of this, two pertinent questions arise: one, which of the two aspects of the information and communication technology is dominant; and second, what preventive and punitive measures should we adopt in order to mitigate the evil use of the technology. A vivid comparison of both, which has been carried out in the paper, demonstrates that the beneficial use of the information and communication technology is predominantly high. Thus, our strategy, as the paper suggests, should be to support the useful aspect of the technology with useful conditionality so that it could abate and control its evil use, and to adopt preventive and punitive measures in order to defeat the evil-doers. For that, both legal and extralegal tools should be adhered to. Towards these, the paper offers some useful suggestions.

Bangladesh is a riverine country where majority of the people lead their life depending on agriculture. With the advancements of ICT, throughout the world agricultural sector has been updated and developed. Bangladesh has already attempted to adopt ICT in agriculture and started getting benefits for the longer period of time.  This paper aims at finding out the effect of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on padday production. The study was conducted at Zinardi union, Palash Thana, Narsingdi District, Bangladesh. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) approach has been undertaken to test the data. Findings stated that ICT has significant impact on paddy cultivation in the selected union.

The usage Information Technology of smartphones is increasingly prevalent in various parts of the world, especially the Indonesian people themselves are competing to buy the latest type of smartphone because of user dissatisfaction with the smartphone features offered. This can be seen through users of various ages, ranging from children, teenagers to adults. Likewise for the residents of the Tegalrejo area, the use of information and communication technology has become popular in the community. The purpose of this study was to identify the results of data processing using and utilizing information technology via smartphone by the people of Berbah Sleman Tegalrejo using the quicksort method. Identification results to find out the use and utilization of information technology through smartphones with features that have been used effectively and efficiently by the residents of Tegalrejo Berbah Sleman so as to make a digital literacy community.

The rapid development of information and communication technology is currently having an impact on changes in various fields, one of which is changes in people's lifestyles, including consumption in society. The development of information and communication technology has resulted in easier access for people in the world to access the internet and use it to buying and selling transactions online via the internet. The report Global Web Index notes that Indonesia has a high level of users e-commerce highest in the world and as many as 96% of internet users looking for a product or service to make purchases online. This has resulted in the development of e-commerce in Indonesia and throughout the world which is increasing as a consequence of which the competition is getting harder service providers are e-commerce required to provide the best service in order to increase customer satisfaction and trust so that customers will be loyal to using these services. This can be achieved by paying attention to customer value and corrective actions in an effort to restore service to customers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of customer perceived value and e-service recovery on e-loyalty with e-satisfaction and e-trust as intervening variables. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to ecommerce Shopee Indonesia customers in Medan City with a total sample of 328 respondents. The sampling technique in this study used non-probability sampling. Data analysis was carried out through SEM-PLS using the SmartPLS program. The results of this study indicate that customer perceived value has a significant effect on e-satisfaction and also e-loyalty. However, customer perceived value has no significant effect on e-trust. The variable e-service recovery directly has a significant effect on e-satisfaction, e-trust, and e-loyalty. E-satisfaction and e-trust cannot mediate the relationship between customer perceived value and e-loyalty, but they are able to mediate the relationship between e-service recovery and e-loyalty. Digital libraries have become a modern day phenomenon. Their roles in information generation,organization, dissemination and storage cannot be overemphasized. This chapter articulates the importance of digital libraries and the need to preserve them from disasters. It highlights the causes and effects of disasters in digital libraries. Prevention and management of disasters were also discussed. Issues and challenges around information and communication technology (ICT), that has direct bearings on digital libraries and disaster management in developing countries were raised. In addition, recommendations were made on how to improve on disaster prevention and control.

Typically, designers of ICT based initiatives tend to consider the emerging trends of information and communication technology (ICT) as the starting point for designing an e-initiative rather than first inculcating a clarity on what services are to be delivered by such e-initiatives. ‘Technology first' or ‘Citizens First' is a conflict all designers have been confronted with, especially in the wake of all technology trends infesting the world now. To resolve this dichotomy, the present study proposes a citizen-centric framework, christened by author as G2C2G framework, which advocates combining technology in equal measures with the respective ‘socio-cultural issues' of the local populace.

This article contains a descriptive survey on the acceptability of equivalence-based translation of the menu of TECNO Android phones into the Yorùbá language, one of the three major languages in Nigeria. Words translated into Yorùbá were categorized into strategies of borrowing, semantic extension and composition and analysed from equivalence effect. In the follow-up survey, information and communication technology experts and general mobile phone users were carefully chosen and consulted for an assessment of the appropriateness of the translation. The study concluded that equivalence, the key term of linguistic translation theories, is still a viable concept in the translation of information and communication technology and equivalence-based translation into Yorùbá will not only promote the language but also contribute to effective communication in a multilingual global village that the world is fast becoming.
