Graduate training is one of the core courses offered in all polytechnics systems in Nigeria, each polytechnic gives orientation programmes and deploys students for industrial training once a year. These processes of pen on paper method throw serious challenges because of time authorization and time frame. Placement of undergraduate students looking for relevant Industrial Training (IT) attachment is becoming worrisome. This research tends to provide a web based solution called Digital Collaborative Framework (DCF) for Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and sustainability in Federal Polytechnic Offa, Nigeria. This is to bridge the gap between educational institutions and the industries subject to training and re-training perspectives. The stakeholders can easily turn DCF into e-administrative tools, then allow students to get industrial placement relevant to their field of studies. The research proposed to develop a productive web application using Codeigniter Php framework. This research will serve as a cloud database to students, staff and other stakeholders and create access to examine, monitor and measure students’ performance at the end of the (SIWES) scheme.

Examinations are an indispensable part of a student’s life. In the conventional mechanism, the question paper generation is time-consuming work for the faculty members of the educational institution. Every educational institute mandatorily expects exam setters to follow its own typesetting format. We have designed the automated question paper setting software to be user-friendly so that, paper setters can overcome from the typographic problem. Presently in most of the educational institutions question papers are set manually. It is time-consuming work and there may be chances of repetition of the same questions. So, in order to make the question paper generation more convenient to use, the web application is developed using Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) that can be accessed from LAN/Intranet.The application comes with the Admin Module and Teachers Module. The Admin grants access to the users by registering them. The faculty can access the system once they are registered. The faculty can enter questions in the database daily as per their free time. In this way, the question pool can be generated. The questions are approved by the chairperson and substandard questions are discarded. The question paper is then generated by selected course experts. The Fisher-Yates Shuffling algorithm used to choose questions randomly from the pool of questions from the database. Text Mining Algorithm aids in duplicity removal from the paper.  The generated question paper will be in Word Format. In our application, we assure better security, removal of duplicity, cost-effectiveness, and human intervention avoidance. It can be used by small-scale and large-scale institutions.

PSAP: Improving Accuracy of Students' Final Grade Prediction using ID3 and C4.5 This study was aimed to increase the performance of the Predicting Student Academic Performance (PSAP) system, and the outcome is to develop a web application that can be used to analyze student performance during present semester. Development of the web-based application was based on the evolutionary prototyping model. The study also analyses the accuracy of the classifier that is constructed for the prediction features in the web application. Qualitative approaches by user evaluation questionnaire were used for this study. A number of few personnel expert users which are lecturers from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris were chosen as respondents. Each respondent is instructed to answer a total of 27 questions regarding respondent’s background and web application design. The accuracy of the classifier for the prediction features is tested by using the confusion matrix by using the test set of 24 rows. The findings showed the views of respondents on the aspects of interface design, functionality, navigation, and reliability of the web-based application that is developed. The result also showed that accuracy for the classifier constructed by using ID3 classification model (C4.5) is 79.18% and the highest compared to Naïve Bayes and Generalized Linear classification model.

The output of research in the form of a proceeding published through a national seminar or an international conference has become a routine activity performed by lecturers as a researcher. The escalating atmosphere of disseminating the results of a study is directly proportional to the increasing number of universities, associations, or non-educational institutions organizing either a national seminar or an international conference. Each seminar organizer posts their seminar relevant information through official sites released by each organizer. However, to date, there has never been storage that can compile all the information pertinent to all national seminars held in Indonesia. This situation has resulted in the search done by search engines such as Google, Yahoo Search, Bing and others have not been efficient nor effective. Design of a web-based national seminar alert system is built to address this issue. This information system can display all the seminars held in Indonesia in the current year in storage and can be broken down based on the choices of topic, location, and date. Other additional facilities are that the application can send email messages to the application users as an early warning on the upcoming national seminar. Researchers can track each existing national seminar and always up-to-date on the most current national seminar.

With the mounting demand of web applications, a number of issues allied to its quality have came in existence. In the meadow of web applications, it is very thorny to develop high quality web applications. A design pattern is a general repeatable solution to a generally stirring problem in software design. It should be noted that design pattern is not a finished product that can be directly transformed into source code. Rather design pattern is a depiction or template that describes how to find solution of a problem that can be used in many different situations. Past research has shown that design patterns greatly improved the execution speed of a software application. Design pattern are classified as creational design patterns, structural design pattern, behavioral design pattern, etc. MVC design pattern is very productive for architecting interactive software systems and web applications. This design pattern is partition-independent, because it is expressed in terms of an interactive application running in a single address space. We will design and analyze an algorithm by using MVC approach to improve the performance of web based application. The objective of our study will be to reduce one of the major object oriented features i.e. coupling between model and view segments of web based application. The implementation for the same will be done in by using .NET framework.

<p>eMap is a web-based platform for identifying and visualizing electron or hole transfer pathways in proteins based on their crystal structures. The underlying model can be viewed as a coarse-grained version of the Pathways model, where each tunneling step between hopping sites represented by electron transfer active (ETA) moieties is described with one effective decay parameter that describes protein-mediated tunneling. ETA moieties include aromatic amino acid residue side chains and aromatic fragments of cofactors that are automatically detected, and, in addition, electron/hole residing sites that can be specified by the users. The software searches for the shortest paths connecting the user-specified electron/hole source to either all surface-exposed ETA residues or to the user-specified target. The identified pathways are ranked based on their length. The pathways are visualized in 2D as a graph, in which each node represents an ETA site, and in 3D using available protein visualization tools. Here, we present the capability and user interface of eMap 1.0, which is available at https://emap.bu.edu.</p>

The application of constructive geometric modeling to pedagogical models of teaching graphic disciplines today is a promising direction for using computer technology in the educational process of educational institutions. The essence of the method of constructive geometric modeling is to represent any operation performed on geometric objects in the form of a transformation, as a result of which some constructive connection is established, and the transformation itself can be considered as a result of the action of an abstract cybernetic device. Constructive geometric modeling is a popular information tool for information processing in various applied areas, however, this tool cannot be appreciated without the presence of appropriate software systems and developed design techniques. Traditionally, constructive geometric modeling is used in the design of mechanical engineering, energy, aircraft and shipbuilding facilities, in architectural and design engineering. The need to study descriptive geometry at the university in recent years has something in common with the issues of mastering graphic packages of computer programs in the framework of the new discipline "Engineering and Computer Graphics". The well-known KOMPAS software product is considered the simplest and most attractive for training. It should be noted the important role of graphic packages in the teaching of geometric disciplines that require a figurative perception of the material by students. Against the background of a reduction in classroom hours, computer graphics packages are practically the only productive teaching methodology, successfully replacing traditional tools - chalk and blackboard.

ABSTRACT Web-based homework (WBH) is an increasingly important phenomenon. There is little research about its character, the nature of its impact on student performance, and how that impact evolves over an academic term. The primary research questions addressed in this study are: What relevant factors in a WBH learning environment impact students' performance? And how does the impact of these factors change over the course of an academic term? This paper examines and identifies significant factors in a WBH learning environment and how they impact student performance. We studied over 300 students using WBH extensively for their coursework, throughout a semester in an undergraduate class at a large public university. In this paper, we present factors in the WBH learning environment that were found to have a significant impact on student performance during the course of a semester. In addition to individual and technological factors, this study presents findings that demonstrate that frustration with IT use is a component of the learning environment, and as a construct, has a larger impact than usefulness on student performance at the end of a course. Our results indicate that educators may benefit from training students and engaging them in utility of co-operative learning assignments to mitigate the level of frustration with the software in the WBH learning environment and improve student performance.

Motivation: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems are an essential part of novel technology in diabetes management and care. CGM studies have become increasingly popular among researchers, healthcare professionals, and people with diabetes due to the large amount of useful information that can be collected using CGM systems. The analysis of the data from these studies for research purposes, however, remains a challenge due to the characteristics and large volume of the data. Results: Currently, there are no publicly available interactive software applications that can perform statistical analyses and visualization of data from CGM studies. With the rapidly increasing popularity of CGM studies, such an application is becoming necessary for anyone who works with these large CGM datasets, in particular for those with little background in programming or statistics. CGMStatsAnalyser is a publicly available, user-friendly, web-based application, which can be used to interactively visualize, summarize, and statistically analyze voluminous and complex CGM datasets together with the subject characteristics with ease.
