Microgrid is an integrated network of renewable and non renewable resources to supply the green power to a small range of community. An effective communication technology is necessary to be implemented among the power generations, storages and loads of microgrid in order to manage the load sharing, shedding and protection issues. This paper provides the study on architecture, characteristics, load managements, protection schemes, communication techniques and research challenges of microgrid.

The evaluation of the variety suitability regarding each appellation’s specificities should be a strategy for maximizing the varieties’ oenological potential while contributing to the sustainable production of quality wines, keeping their typicity and rationalizing winemaking costs. Thus, the combination of several grape physicochemical attributes, modulated by climate and vineyard characteristics, providing knowledge for each grape variety’s oenological potential, is a relevant and reliable support for winemakers’ decisions. To prove this hypothesis, six mature grape varieties from three harvests, each one from three vineyard parcels with different topographical conditions from Bairrada Appellation (Portugal), were studied using analysis of variance–simultaneous components analysis (ASCA). The effects of harvest year and parcel on grape berry weight, pH, titratable acidity, total sugars, total phenolics, antiradical activity, and volatile composition in free and glycosidically-linked forms were analyzed. The compositional plasticity of autochthonous varieties (white Arinto and Bical and red Baga, Castelão, and Touriga Nacional) was observed. Sauvignon Blanc grape composition was significantly modulated by harvest. This study represents an important contribution for the maintenance of varieties’ biodiversity while contributing to establishing their peculiarities. Autochthonous varieties, if accurately exploited, can provide higher characteristic diversity than worldwide used varieties, an aspect to be more objectively taken into consideration by winemakers.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT TROUGH EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH VOLUNTEER (CADRE) OF POSYANDU. Community participation for creating Indonesia’s health development is necessary. One of manifestation of community empowerment is through Posyandu activities that are managed by community health volunteers (cadre) with the aim of providing facilities to the public in obtaining basic health services as a promotive and preventive health strategy in community. Cadres as the driving agent need to be equipped with health promotion skills as an attempt to create national health development optimally. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge of effective communication, and to introduce of communication media for promoting of health information. The methods of conducting communication training include: survey activities, communication training, preparing health promotion media and evaluation. The results of the training showed that participants had good communication skills, participants were able to practice effective communication techniques and realized the importance of the media to promote Posyandu activities.

It is evident from the ongoing developments in the area of communication that those with the most extensive and strongest communication bridges will command power in the global communication. Technology has changed the way we communicate. If organizations want to reach their target audiences, they must be prepared to use the most effective communication channels to get their messages across to the various stakeholders.

This chapter provides a brief review of molecular communication, a networking paradigm inspired by cell communication mechanisms. In molecular communication, information is encoded to and decoded from molecules, rather than electrons or electromagnetic waves. Molecular communication provides bio-compatible and energy-efficient solutions with massive parallelization at the nano-to-micro scale; it is expected to play a key role in a multitude of domains including health, the environment, and ICT (Information Communication Technology). Models and methods of molecular communication are also reviewed, and research challenges that need to be addressed for further advancement of the molecular communication paradigm are discussed.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has undergone rapid change in the last decade and it is now readily accessible within many communities. This change has resulted in a revolution in the healthcare sector as technology has steadily empowered the health consumer. However, the problem of the digital divide remains and may be widening with the growth of technology. This chapter will examine how developing countries have overcome this problem by using varying communication techniques to share health information. The chapter also suggests how mobile phones can provide a more accessible conduit for sharing health information in developing countries as opposed to the Internet alone. These changes need to be embraced in order to provide a framework that will allow ICT to narrow, rather than widen the gap between the information poor and the information rich.

The term Covid-19 which refers to a Novel virus creates a deep impact on the mindset of human beings to rethink about one’s activities on planet. During this critical situation when most are indulged and involved in finding the causes and solution of the problem, a very different aspect catches my attention and that is effective communication approaches added through innovative techniques by leaders, hundreds of creative people and think tanks whose efforts resulted as information medicine to protect life and economy which is in danger at the time of rapidly increasing Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19). Some of the communication techniques introduced and liked by millions of people around the world are Clapping Act, Banging of Thali at the doorsteps or at rooftops, Lightening of Lamps, Candles, Flash Lights of Mobile Phones, efforts of global leaders along with Video Conferencing by the Indian Prime Minister Mr Modi and the announcement of lockdown to break the chain of the spread of Coronavirus. The research methodology opted to assess these communication channels and its approaches, media sources and innovative techniques is based on observation, interpretation and analysis on primary and secondary phase. As a result, we have seen the control over COVID-19 up-to some extent, the controlled death rate and economy level in positive numbers. The outcome of this paper suggests that the information spread through various effective communication approaches along with media sources works as information medicine to safeguard life on Earth in context with the COVID-19 pandemic.
