The aim of research is to design the model of rendement rate by considering the criteria of patchouli leaf and designing a good supplier selection model to maximize the company profit by considering the acceptance of the patchouli oil rendement rate. The selection of suppliers discussed is to consider the quantity of goods offered by suppliers, demand, budget and acceptance limitation of  rendement rate. To overcome these limitations, it is necessary to develop a supplier selection model that takes into consideration the quantity limitation of goods offered by the supplier and the acceptance of the rendement rate by using Linear Programming (LP) method. The result of the research shows that the determination model of the rendement rate developed to determine the percentage of Rendement Rate (RR) of each raw material supplied by the supplier so that the company can know the quality of patchouli leaf based on the type of patchouli leaf. The analysis result of numerical sample calculation shows that the selected supplier is not a supplier with good patchouli leaf criteria, the analysis result of parameter changes in oil demand and budget indicate that when oil demand is increased over the benchmark data, the model output is insensitive, but when demand is lowered below the benchmark data, the model output looks sensitive.

CV. Riki Utama Mandiri is a company in distributing an economic fish frozen product. This company distributed any kind of retail and wholesaler, both domestic and export. They distributing many frozen fish products variant such as Patin Fillet and Shark Fin. The all raw materials of those frozen seafood was obtained by three different suppliers. The common problems found in CV. Riki Utama Mandiri mostly about raw patin fish supplier which often committed delivery delays.  The purpose of this research is to fixing the supply chain management in deciding the more accurate selections of raw materials supplier. To overcome the common problems that happen. Analytical network process (ANP) will simplify the criteria weight values and sub criteria of each supplier. Meanwhile, technique for others reference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is used for giving a rank order of the alternative supplier. This research is expected for being a consideration for the company in obtaining a good and more effective kind of raw supplier. We also expecting the company for tighten supplier selection more effective way so that it can fullfilled the existing standard. Also to overcome the common problems such as delivery delays, competing raw materials with uncertain quality, and difficulty in sort out the raw materials due to size issues.

Based on the late medieval leather artefacts from Puck, Gniew, Lębork and Chojnice, an attempt was made to assess the level of shoemaking production at that time. Microscopic analyses of leather goods and production waste proved that in the field of tanning the activities related to the mechanical treatment of leather were carefully performed, although with insufficient professional knowledge concerning the process. The results of the identification of the animal origin of the leather confirmed the purposeful selection of raw material with different properties for individual footwear elements and the ability to properly cut it. The quality of the shoemaking products was highly rated in terms of technology and style. However, in the analysed collections a clearly perceptible difference in craftsmanship and assortment of products from Gniew and the other three towns was noticed.

Purpose In the data-driven era, the quality of the data exchanged between suppliers and buyer can enhance the buyer’s ability to appropriately cope with the risks and uncertainties associated with raw material purchasing. This paper aims to address the issue of supplier selection and purchasing planning considering the quality of data by benefiting from suppliers’ synergistic effects. Design/methodology/approach An approach is proposed to measure data visibility’s total value using a multi-stage algorithm. A multi-objective mathematical optimization model is then developed to determine the optimal integrated purchasing plan in a multi-product setting under risk. The model contemplates three essential objective functions, i.e. maximizing total data quality and quantity level, minimizing purchasing risks and minimizing total costs. Findings With emerging competitive areas, in the presence of industry 4.0, internet of things and big data, high data quality can improve the process of supply chain decision-making. This paper supports the managers for the procurement planning of modern organizations under risk and thus provides an in-depth understanding for the enterprises having the readiness for industry 4.0 transformation. Originality/value Various data quality attributes are comprehensively subjected to deeper analysis. An applicable procedure is proposed to determine the total value of data quality and quantity required for supplier selection. Besides, a novel multi-objective optimization model is developed to determine the purchasing plan under risk.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of differentiated air relative humidity during the drying process on selected quality features of TSG (traditional specialties guaranteed) pork and poultry-pork kabanosy. After heat treatment and 24-hour cooling at 4–6°C, the products were placed in three chambers at 15°C with differentiated air relative humidity: 60, 70, and 80%, respectively. The drying process was carried out until all variants of kabanosy achieved the required final yield of the product (<68%). Color components, water activity and shear force, water, protein, fat, and salt content, and the TBARS indicator values were determined. The drying process might be shortened (~50%) by a reduction of humidity in the drying chamber from 80 to 60%. The changes in the content of chemical components in pork kabanosy compared to poultry-pork ones demonstrated the different dynamics of the drying of the two types of kabanosy and the need for the selection of optimum drying conditions relative to raw material composition.

Purpose – This paper aims to put forward a group multicriteria supplier selection model to select suppliers adequate to companies needs in food industries. Selecting the right suppliers has become a strategic problem for firms. This decision should take into account several factors, which involve both quantitative and qualitative considerations and, usually, includes many interested parties. Design/methodology/approach – The proposed model consists of two phases. Initially,a survey of food industries in Brazil was carried out so as to identify the factors that should be considered in the supplier selection decision process. In the second step,a selection model was developed, based on these findings and the factors identified, and an application of the model was conducted. Findings – This model uses criteria that are important for the food industries in Brazil and, considering this criteria, helps companies to select the adequate suppliers to their needs. Additionally, the model considers the preferences of the managers who actively participate in the process. Originality/value – The model helps the company in the selection of suppliers,as it is very important for the corporation to have partnerships with suppliers who can adequately meet its needs. Additionally,a group method was applied, which allows all the managers that will be affected by this decision to participate.

The comparative quality evaluation of sides and meat was performed after several years of selection of Large Yorkshire (LY) and Swedish Landrace (SL) pigs. The quality of carcass sides e.g. meat yield in sides, was determined in-vivo, using the PIGLOG 105, on the slaughter-line according to Regulation and using the FOM device on a number of pig carcass sides of LY and SL breed(n: LY = 48; SL = 39), and after cooling, partial dissection of left sides was applied according to procedure recommended in the EU, on a smaller number of pure breed sides (n: LY = 18; SL = 17). The investigated selection model in pure breed animals yielded rather good results regarding halves quality of both races (% of meat determined by partial dissection: LY = 57,9; SL = 57,4), while the average meat quality (M. semimembranosus) on the basis of technological characteristics (pHi, pHu, WHCu and colouru) of both investigated races was somewhat poorer and corresponded to RSE quality.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, as well as in most Balkan countries, wool is a major environmental problem. After sheep shearing, farmers usually leave the wool at the shear sites, providing poorly degradable organic waste. The purchase price of such untreated wool is as low as its quality. By this research, we have tried to draw attention, from another aspect, to the quality of wool fibers of certain parts of the body, which is ultimately very important in the textile industry and in the selection of wool for further processing. The cuticle is made from cornfied cells, flakes, located on the surface of wool fibers. One of the significant roles of the cuticle is the protective. Namely, the cuticle protects the wool fibers from various external factors, whether mechanical or physic-chemical (such as ammonia evaporation in poorly maintained facilities, etc.), which can damage the fleece and thus make it less quality. We have found some differences in the flakes position and shape in the wool fibers we investigated, depending on part of the body from which they were sampled. However, by microscopic analyses of samples taken from the root of the tail, we have found that the flakes were much smaller and finer in structure than the arrangement and appearance of the cornified flakes from the rump. In this study, we have compared the appearance and arrangement of flakes of cuticle, which is very important in assessing the quality of wool and its further use as a raw material.
