The article considers students' satisfaction with interactive forms of training with elements of gamification. Based on the empirical study, the level of students’ satisfaction with interactive forms of training with elements of gamification has been measured. The study has been conducted at 6 educational organizations that carry out educational activities on educational programs of higher education – bachelor, specialist and master degree programs. A set of sociological methods has been used in the study: a questionnaire survey of students, an expert survey of teachers working at higher education institutions, an analysis of documents; content analysis; a method of mathematical data processing (correlation analysis, using the software package SPSS Statistics 23). Based on the analysis of the scientific literature and the results of the sociological research conducted, it has been established that the students are more satisfied with the quality of interactive sessions with elements of gamification (57.01%) than with the quality of training by traditional methods (23.36%) and the quality of the content of classes conducted by traditional methods (19.63%). It has been revealed that the use of interactive forms of training with elements of gamification is the most effective: to increase the effectiveness of mastering the training material (20%); for decision-making (17.33%); to heighten interest in learning (15.33%). The closeness of the views of students and teachers on the assessment of interactive forms of training with elements of gamification and assessment of classes conducted by traditional methods has been determined by means of Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The obtained data of the correlation analysis have shown a rather high level of correlation and indicated the closeness of the views of students and teachers on the phenomena studied.

The requirements to the quality of higher education in Ukraine and in the world are rising. This means that the quality of strategic management of HEIs is a guarantee of successful implementation of the state reform of higher education in Ukraine. In this conditions, there is no doubt that the adjustment of the universities’ strategies is inevitable if they are going to adapt to new challenges. The article is devoted to the evaluation from the process approach of the management of effectiveness of the university's strategy as a project-oriented organization. the matrix "competitive position / growth trend" for the universities of the Kharkiv region in 2017 was constructed. A comparative assessment of the activities of universities of the Kharkiv region in 2017 has been carried out for three components: quality of scientific and pedagogical potential; quality of training; international recognition. The paper investigates the hypothesis of a connection between the position in the official rating of universities and the quality of its strategic plan. The data of the Consolidated rating of Ukrainian universities and the rating of CEDOS for 2015-1017 are used. Correlation connection with time lag between these indicators is proved. The rank correlation increases with the increase of the time lag (in this paper the range of the time lag {0; 1; 2} was investigated, due to the availability of empirical data). The research evaluated the degree of correlation of the observed phenomena (the content of the strategic plan and the university’s position in the rating) by Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The colligation of the studied factors was assessed applying the Chaddock’s scale.  The results of the correlation analysis of the relationship between the group of indicators "The main management processes of the university" and the group of calculated indicators in the structure of the indicator "Content of the strategic plan" confirmed the correctness of the using the rating methodology by the CEDOS Center. The authors conclude that the management of an organization such as a university is advantageously carried out from the standpoint of the process approach

To assess the quality of health care, patient outcomes associated with medical providers are routinely monitored in order to identify poor (or excellent) provider performance. To avoid confounding by risk factors, both indirect and direct standardization have been used for comparing outcome rates or prevalence for different providers. There has been an ongoing debate as to which standardization method is more appropriate. To compare the performance of indirect and direct standardization for the purpose of ranking transplant centers, we analyzed post-transplant mortality using the national kidney transplant data. Included in our analysis were 116,601 patients (from 230 transplant centers) who underwent kidney transplantation between January 2006 and December 2012. Multivariate logistic regression model was used to model the 30-day mortality, which were estimates of failures (grant failure or death) in the 30 days after the transplant surgery. Concordance indexes, kappa coefficients and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient were computed. The estimated values from these statistics for the indirect standardized method were similar to the direct standardization. The results suggest that both indirect and direct standardized methods provide similar ability to distinguish center effects.

Korean people are exposed to stress due to the constant competitive structure caused by rapid industrialization. As a result, there is a need for ways that can effectively manage stress and help improve quality of life. Therefore, this study proposes an activity recommendation model using rank correlation for chronic stress management. Using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, the proposed model finds the correlations between users’ Positive Activity for Stress Management (PASM), Negative Activity for Stress Management (NASM), and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient improves the accuracy of recommendations by putting a basic rank value in a missing value to solve the sparsity problem and cold-start problem. For the performance evaluation of the proposed model, F-measure is applied using the average precision and recall after five times of recommendations for 20 users. As a result, the proposed method has better performance than other models, since it recommends activities with the use of the correlation between PASM and NASM. The proposed activity recommendation model for stress management makes it possible to manage user’s stress effectively by lowering the user’s PSS using correlation.

The characteristic of bulls-producers of red breeds of OAO Barnaulskoe breeding enterprise on the quality of sperm and its resistance to cryopreservation are presented. The breeding enterprise has examined samples of water, soil, feed for the content of heavy metals. In the studied samples, no excess of the LOC was found. The research results were processed on a PC using population statistics methods. Angler bulls produced the largest amount of ejaculates unsuitable for cryopreservation. It is 20.6%. According to this indicator, they surpassed the producers of red Danish and red steppe breeds by 4.1-7.8%. The animals of the latter breed showed the smallest amount (1.7%) of ejaculates rejected after defrost. In Angler bulls, this indicator was 5.95%, in red Danish bulls it was 2.95%, which is 3.52 and 1.75 times higher than in red steppe breeders (P <0.01-0.001). Significant differences were established between individual bulls of the red steppe breed in the number of ejaculates rejected before cryopreservation (2.84-22.29%) and after defrost (0-7.09%). The differences between breeds in the frequency of rejected ejaculates before freezing and after cryopreservation indicate a certain role of heredity in the resistance of animals for these indicators. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient between these traits was 0.312. It indicates the possibility of preliminary assessment and selection of bulls according to the first indicator. But the final assessment of the bull-producers can be made by the frequency of rejected ejaculates after thawing. We propose to consider the issue of additional accounting in breeding programs for the resistance of the seed of bulls-producers to cryopreservation.

This study aimed at investigating the impact of the quality of life perception on the self-esteem of physically active adults. A total of 63 male and female swimming practitioners (38.13 ± 11.72) were evaluated. A socio-demographic questionnaire, WHOQOL-Bref Scale, and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale were used as tools. For data analysis the descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient, and the Univariate Multiple Regression were used. No significant differences were found either for the quality of life or the self-esteem between sexes; there was a significant positive correlation (p < 0.05) among the physical (r = 0.37), psychological (r = 0.36) and environmental (r = 0.30) domains with self-esteem. The regression model explained 20% of the self-esteem variability, with moderate and significant pathways of the physical (β = 0.23) and psychological (β = 0.23) domains, whereas the environmental domain did not show a significant predictive relation (p = 0.988) with self-esteem. It is concluded that a higher quality of life perception may result in a higher self-esteem for physically active adults.

In Russia, educational migration ranks fourth among the reasons for migration. During educational migration, students experience stresses similar to those of Russian students associated with the passage of stages of development in relation to age, academic stress, intensified by moving and separation from important people, and stress inherent in the transfer processes: acculturation, associated with finding oneself in an unfamiliar culture and the need to handle complex concepts in an unfamiliar language, which, when delayed, flows into cumulative stress. All of these types of stress affect the health of students. Russian universities are interested in graduating not only erudite, but also healthy specialists and potential fellow citizens. This article presents data from an experimental study of the formation of neurotic disorders, alexithymia and situational and personal anxiety in migrant students in connection with the level and timing of adaptation to determine the targets of primary impact and correction, as well as highlight the relationship between neuroses, anxiety and alexithymia. The study included a sample of students living in Novosibirsk: 109 migrant students from Central Asian countries in the 1–3rd courses of study in adolescence from 17 to 20 years old (17.81±0.90). The following methods were used: Toronto alexithymic scale — 26, Spielberger — Hanin anxiety scale, STAI, Heck — Hess neuro- sis express diagnostic questionnaire and BFB. The significance of differences between individual indicators in the groups was determined using the Mann — Whitney U-test, and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient was used for the level of relationships. The study showed a high level of anxiety, alexithymia and neurotic reactions in poorly adapted migrant students. More adapted migrant students showed lower rates of alexithymia and anxiety, while maintaining high rates of susceptibility to neurotic disorders, with prolonged acculturation. Thus, the timing of adaptation becomes important target for correction, with the need for events and trainings that raise awareness of Russian culture and mentality.

The article outlines quantitative criteria of students’ performance results in the course of studying the subject ‘Life Safety’ in the times of online education. The process of education is conducted using the competency-based approach and presupposes the evaluation of performance with the help of 3 levels: basic (adaptive), independent (productive), competent (creative). The evaluation of the indicators of students’ knowledge and skills was done using a modular rating system. The discipline is taught in 2 main ways: lectures and seminars. The assessment of students’ knowledge was conducted using progress tests, mid-term and final tests. The article provides Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient which indicates a very high level of correlation between the ratings of students’ achievements in different Modules of the course. The results indicate that using online education to prepare Bachelor’s degree students for their final test in the subject ‘Life Safety’ was effective, there were no serious disadvantages; which leads to a tentative hope of integrating online education into regular education in the future.
