The main aim of this study is to investigate the users’ opinion concerning the use of collection and services in the IARI library. Therefore, the study is focused on users’ opinion not only in terms of use, purpose, and satisfaction level with the library collection and services, but also in terms of use of e-resources, and adequacy of library collection. The questionnaire was administered to students of the IARI to collect data regarding the use of collection and services and analyse the level of users’ satisfaction. The Likert’s scale and chi-square test were also employed. The survey revealed that there exist significant differences not only in the level of usage, purpose, satisfaction of the library collection and services, but also in terms of use of e-resources and adequacy of library collection. The researcher observed that the e-form of collection and services due to their high usage has become a significant part of the library in fulfilling the needs of the postgraduate and research students. To maximise the use of library collection and services, the library should consider all the possible aspects related to users satisfaction. This study highlights the use and non-use of library collection and services, and provides the library management an opportunity to review its collection and services as well as its policies.

SUMMARYSix intercropping systems and four levels of nitrogen were compared at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, in the summer rainy seasons (July-October) of 1978 and 1979. The maximum increase in sorghum yield was obtained when it was associated with fodder cowpea, followed by association with grain cowpea and greengram. The application of 40, 80 and 120 kg N ha−1 increased sorghum yield by 8.6, 16.1 and 18.2% in 1978 and by 2.9, 8.1 and 14.1% in 1979, respectively, compared with unfertilized sorghum. The nitrogen uptake by sorghum, and by the total system, was greater in sorghum-legume intercropping systems than in sole sorghum. Nitrogen application also increased the nitrogen uptake by sorghum and by the whole system.

Job satisfaction is a general attitude towards one’s job, the difference between the amount of reward workers receive and the amount they believe they should receive. Employee is a back bone of every organization, without employee no work can be done. So employee’s satisfaction is very important.Employees will be more satisfied if they get what they expected, job satisfaction relates to inner feelings of workers. As Udumalpet and Palani Taluk are famous for paper industries, the main aim of this study is to analyze the satisfaction level of paper mill employees. Chi-Square test and percentage analysis have been used in this study to analyze the job satisfaction of paper mill employees in Udumalpet and Palani Taluk. The study shows that only 44% of the employees are satisfied with the working conditions, 31% of them with the welfare facilities, 44% of them with the accident compensation, and 42% of them are satisfied with the rewards provided and 52% of them are satisfied with the grievance handling procedure. The organization may give importance to certain factors such as Canteen, rest room facilities, rewards, recognition and promotion policy so that satisfaction of the employees may be improved further.

ABSTRACT The aim of this paper was to analyze the drying kinetics, test the Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Schwarz’s Bayesian information criterion (BIC) in the selection of models, determine the effective diffusivity and activation energy of the crushed mass of ‘jambu’ leaves for different conditions of temperature and layer thicknesses. The experiment was carried out at the Food Laboratory of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) in Macapá-AP. Drying was carried out in air circulation oven with speed of 1.0 m s-1 at various temperatures (60, 70 and 80 ºC) and layer thicknesses (0.005 and 0.010 m). The experimental data were fitted to 11 mathematical models. Coefficient of determination (R2), mean relative error (P), mean estimated error (SE), Chi-square test (χ2), AIC and BIC were the selection criteria for the models. For the effective diffusivity, the Fick’s diffusion model was used considering the flat plate geometry. It was found that Midilli and Logarithmic models showed the best fit to the experimental data of drying kinetics. Effective diffusion coefficient increases with increment in the thickness of the material and with the temperature elevation. Activation energy of the material was of 16.61 kJ mol-1 for the thickness of 0.005 m, and 16.97 kJ mol-1 for the thickness of 0.010 m. AIC and BIC can be additionally included to select models of drying.

A field study conducted for two years at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi showed that intercropping potato with fenugreek is highly profitable and provides some in-season income to the potato growers. It also serves as an insurance against complete loss of income when the potato prices crash in the market.

[Correlation between Community Participation and Community Satisfaction in Revitalization Program at Braga Street, Bandung] Braga revitalization has already been done for almost 20 years. Nevertheless, people there still feel dissatisfied because it is not carefully considered as though and lack of participation in revitalization program. Whereas, people around are those who affected by revitalization program. This research aims to learn about correlation between participation level and satisfaction level towards the program. The analysis method used in this research is quantitative analysis by quantitative descriptive, scoring, and crosstab technique. Number of samples used in this research are 80 samples. Meanwhile, the result found is that level of community participation considered in a low level with score 1367. When associated with Arnstein’s participation ladders, the level of community participation is on informing stage. Whilst, the research’s result about level of community satisfaction is considered in a quite satisfied level with score 1717. Based on the crosstab analysis, known that the result of chi-square test 2(3,N= 80)=38.285;p<0.05 or significance degree is 0.000<0.05 so Ho rejected and H1 accepted. It is stated that there is a correlation between participation and community satisfaction. While, based on correlation test, known that r(80)=0.637;p>0.01 and r(80)=0.682;p>0.01 which means the correlation considered in a strong level and correlation coefficient has a positive relation.
