Based on studies of the microstructure of the matrix of cured polymer composite materials and the area of its contact interaction with reinforcing fibers, the hypothesis of its structuring in the microwave electromagnetic field with an increase in the contact interaction surfaces due to an increase in the number of agglomerates with small transverse dimensions and a decrease in porosity in the macro- and mesopore regions is substantiated. These effects can be used as a basis for increasing the strength characteristics and uniformity of their values after exposure to a microwave electromagnetic field. The results of this work can be used in the development of technologies for finishing hardening of products made of carbon and fiberglass for various transport and energy systems.

This paper presents data on the development of polymer composite materials based on thermoplastic elastomers. As starting materials for the synthesis of the matrix components were selected as follows: isotactic polypropylene and ternary ethylene-propylene-diene elastomer (EPDM). Diene component in EPDM are ethylidene norbornene composition in an amount of 4-5%. Dynamic vulcanization was carried out using the elastomer element sulfur. The filler polymer composite materials used silica gel with dimethyl polysiloxane. Synthesis was carried out by filling the sol-gel technology. The filler content in the composite varied from 10 to 80% by weight. Mixing of filler and the matrix was performed in a laboratory twin-rotor mixer, type "Brabender". It is found that the maximum possible filler content of the matrix used was 80%. With the introduction of more filler mixing of the components it has been difficult. When the filler content from 10 to 70% of parameters such as tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of longitudinal elasticity increasing and administered at higher filler and 80 wt%. markedly reduced. Thus, it can be concluded that the content of filler in the composite is 70%. Further research should be directed to the evaluation of the radiation resistance of the developed composite materials.

The article considers the problem of the effect of uneven curing caused by the temperature gradient across the thickness of the material on the anisotropy of the strength properties of polymer composite materials. The effect of catalysts on the curing of the epoxy binder EDT-69N, used for the manufacture of multilayer polymer composite materials, was studied. According to dielectric spectrometry, the accelerating effect of the selected compounds on the curing process of the EDT-69N epoxy binder during fiberglass molding has been proved. The possibility of controlling the curing process using catalysts to reduce the influence of the temperature gradient on the anisotropy of the strength properties of the matrix in the manufacture of polymer composite materials is shown.

The method of X-ray diffraction analysis was used to study polymer composite materials with a hybrid matrix in the form of blends of thermoplastic polymers of polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE with rigid high-temperature resistant polyarylate PA filled with molybdenum disulfide after explosive pressing with a pressure of 0.9-4.6 GPa. The studies were carried out with the aim of developing the technology of explosive pressing of polymer composite materials with a hybrid matrix, filled with molybdenum disulfide, with increased strength and antifriction properties.

In work, the rheological heat-resistant and elastic-strength characteristics of thermosetting systems developed at FSUE «VIAM» (epoxy matrices of grades VSE-20, VSE-30, VSE-33, bismaleimide grade VST-57 and cyan ester matrices of grades VST-1210 and VST-60) processed by non-autoclave technologies. These resins make it possible to obtain composite materials for structural purposes with an operating temperature from -60 to 250 °C by the methods of vacuum infusion, impregnation under pressure and film technology. The work also presents glass transition temperatures and mechanical properties of carbon and fiberglass plastics obtained on their basis.

Various technologies for the production of prepregs based on a thermoplastic matrix and composite materials based on them are considered. Their advantages over the technologies of manufacturing polymer composite materials based on a thermosetting matrix are presented. It is shown that the use of melt technology allows the production of fiberglass with the highest level of strength characteristics. An algorithm for estimating residual stresses in a thermoplastic composite to optimize the technological process of producing complex products is described.

Due to the widespread use of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer composite materials (PCM) in the structural elements of aircraft with a distributed surface layer of lightning-proof coating (MFP) in the form of metal grids to reduce the risk of lightning strikes and the possibility of increasing their strength characteristics by processing in the microwave electromagnetic field, the need to study the impact of this method of processing on the resistance of PCM to high voltage electrical discharges. The studies of the impact of the discharge voltage 180…200 kV on samples of PCM with the minimum wage and no minimum wage. It is established that pretreatment of samples of the cured polymer composite MW in a microwave electromagnetic field energy flux density (17…18)104 µw/cm2 does not degrade their molniezaschita characteristics and contributes to reducing the size of the damaged area up to 1.5 times. Samples processed in the microwave electromagnetic field without MSP do not have delaminations and burns in contrast to the control ones. The obtained results indicate the possibility of strengthening treatment in the microwave electromagnetic field of structural elements of carbon fiber distributed in the surface layer of the MSP in the form of a metal grid.

The mechanical properties of polymer composite materials largely depend on the interfacial phenomena occurring on the interface between the matrix and reinforcing material. The addition of components to the matrix of polymer composite materials that retain their viscoelastic state during the molding process of the products makes possible to locally change the deformation-and-strength properties of a finished product, adapting it to the specified operating conditions. The viscoelastic components in the hybrid matrix form the third phase of the polymer composite material. Increasing the efficiency of interfacial layers of polymer composite materials with various types of hybrid matrices is the most important task of their development. The samples for microanalysis of the polymer composite material structure with various types of hybrid matrices were molded using the prepreg technology by vacuum molding on the basis of BT400 biaxial basalt fabric. Technical wax, anaerobic (Loctite 638) and organosilicon (Yunisil-9628) polymer materials were selected as the viscoelastic components of the hybrid matrix. In order to explain the reasons for the change in the deformation-and-strength properties of the obtained basalt plastics with various viscoelastic components in the composition of the hybrid matrix, microanalysis of their structure was carried out. A mechanism for choosing a scheme for the location of viscoelastic components in a matrix of polymer composite materials based on the provisions of combinatorial optimization is described.

Questions of the construction of dispersed structures of polymer composite materials using a generalized model of dispersed filled polymer composite materials (DFPCM) are studied. Using the parameter of maximum proportion of filler (φm) allows you to take into account the size, shape, and distribution of part of the dispersed filler at the same time. The transition to generalized and specified parameters when describing the structure of the DFPCM leads to the possibility of highlighting the optimal criteria for obtaining systems with the highest strength characteristics. The transition to generalized and reduced parameters when describing the structure of DFPCM leads to the possibility of selecting optimal criteria that ensure obtaining systems with the necessary level of rheological, electrochemical, physico-mechanical and other characteristics.
