The paper presents the results of using the simulation model estimating the fuel consumption of a light commercial vehicle in road traffic cycles; virtual tests are performed. The impact analysis of the motor vehicle design parameters on fuel consumption in NEDC and WLTC cycles is conducted. Numerical values of average fuel consumption are obtained for variation of the main parameters of the structure in NEDC and WLTC cycles. Energy distribution is shown during the motion of category N1 light commercial vehicle.

The article presents the results of using the developed simulation model aimed at estimating the fuel consumption of a light commercial vehicle in road traffic cycles. There have been conducted virtual tests. The analysis of the influence of the main parameters of the car on fuel consumption in the NEDC and WLTC cycles is performed. There have been established numerical values of the average fuel consumption indicator through variation in the main design parameters. The distribution of energy consumption during the motion of the car is shown.

The characteristics of the intersection of bicycle was studied through survey and data analysis, and we got straight bicycle losses flow calculation formula under the influence of right turn motor vehicle. Through simulation to analysis the impact of its capacity further when motor vehicle traffic, plus the deceleration and the proportion of bus changes, and measures were proposed to improve bicycle capacity.

A Monte Carlo simulation methodology is suggested in order to assess the impact of ambient wind on a vehicle’s performance and emissions. A large number of random wind profiles is generated by implementing the Weibull and uniform statistical distributions for wind speed and direction, respectively. Wind speed data are drawn from eight cities across Europe. The vehicle considered is a diesel-powered, turbocharged, light-commercial vehicle and the baseline trip is the worldwide harmonized light-duty vehicles WLTC cycle. A detailed engine-mapping approach is used as the basis for the results, complemented with experimentally derived correction coefficients to account for engine transients. The properties of interest are (engine-out) NO and soot emissions, as well as fuel and energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Results from this study show that there is an aggregate increase in all properties, vis-à-vis the reference case (i.e., zero wind), if ambient wind is to be accounted for in road load calculation. Mean wind speeds for the different sites examined range from 14.6 km/h to 24.2 km/h. The average increase in the properties studied, across all sites, ranges from 0.22% up to 2.52% depending on the trip and the property (CO2, soot, NO, energy consumption) examined. Based on individual trip assessment, it was found that especially at high vehicle speeds where wind drag becomes the major road load force, CO2 emissions may increase by 28%, NO emissions by 22%, and soot emissions by 13% in the presence of strong headwinds. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the adverse effect of headwinds far exceeds the positive effect of tailwinds, thus explaining the overall increase in fuel/energy consumption as well as emissions, while also highlighting the shortcomings of the current certification procedure, which neglects ambient wind effects.

This chapter addresses the specific block exemption regime that applies to the automotive industry. The relevant regime is contained in Regulation 461/2010. Different from past practice, Regulation 461/2010 closely resembles the general block exemption (Regulation 330/2010) and limits itself to adding certain hardcore restrictions applicable in the secondary markets. The chapter provides an overview of the impact of the block exemption from the perspective of the various stakeholders active in the sector. It then goes on to describe separately the block exemption principles governing the distribution of motor vehicles, the provision of after-sales services, and the distribution of spare parts.

To date, no studies have examined the relationship between geographic and socioeconomic factors and the frequency of pedestrians sustaining traumatic injuries from a motor vehicle. The objective of this study was to analyze the impact of location on the frequency of pedestrian injury by motor vehicle. The University of Louisville Trauma Registry was queried for patients who had been struck by a motor vehicle from 2010 to 2015. Demographic and injury information as well as outcome measures were evaluated to identify those impacting risk of pedestrian versus motor vehicle accidents. Number of incidents was correlated with lower median household income. There was also a moderate correlation between the number of incidents and population density. Multivariable analysis demonstrated a significant association between increased median household income and distance from downtown Louisville and decreased risk of death following pedestrian versus motor vehicle accident. Incidence of pedestrian injury by motor vehicles is influenced by regional socioeconomic status. Efforts to decrease the frequency of these events should include further investigation into the mechanisms underpinning this relationship.

Today, looking at the still crowded streets of our cities, we often do not realize how important and essential for their normal functioning are legal regulations of road traffic for all its users. The beginnings of Polish legislation in this field date back to the 1920s. The dynamics of change, occurring in this relatively new field of life, required the introduction of a series of further adjustments and revisions. The Regulation of July 6, 1922 was only six years old. On January 27, 1928, the Minister of Public Works and the Minister of Internal Affairs in agreement with the Minister of Military Affairs passed a regulation on the movement of motor vehicles on public roads. Before 1939, normative acts regulating the rules of motor vehicle traffic were repealed twice and replaced with newer legal acts.

Due to the rapid growth of environmental pollution from mobile sources, the part of alternative fuels use is increasing. One of these for motor vehicle is liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This study focuses on the LPG use by Mitsubishi Lancer X passenger car in driving conditions. Based on the results of the previous studies analysis, the most significant factors affecting the change in fuel consumption by motor vehicles were identified. It was proved that the decrease in the ambient temperature from +30 to –20 °C leads to an increase in gas consumption from 11.2 to 13.6 l/100 km. In addition, at air temperatures from –20 °C and below, the gas-fueled engine is unstable.


The main aim of this paper is to model the go kart chassis in solid works and perform the impact analysis of the motor vehicle chassis in Ansys. The purpose of impact analysis is to study the behaviour of the chassis during impact on the go-kart chassis. The National Go Kart Racing is the one of the ways which provide the platform for doing innovations and showing creativity of students. The motor vehicle chassis is completely different from standard automobile chassis. The basic requirements of the chassis will be less weight and more strength. The material that we opted for this chassis is AISI 4130 which is a medium carbon steel having good tensile strength and better machinability and offers good balance to toughness and ductility. Such that by performing impact analysis at different impact speeds we are going to analyses the chassis behaviour for the given conditions. The chassis frame is backbone of vehicle it should be able to with stand different types of loads that are developed during vehicle at rest and in motion. The given chassis is tested under different impact conditions and the results such as deformations, stresses are determined using ANSYS 19.0 software.

Abstract Road traffic is inseparably connected with road accident. This is the human-driver whose role in the transportation process safety is of key importance. Driving a motor vehicle requires from the driver not only knowledge but also physical and psychical fitness. They need to have the ability of quick reaction, proper estimation of the road situation and doing maneuvers adequate to it. In this study, an assessment of the impact of improper behaviors of drivers on occurrence of road collisions and accidents, has been analyzed on the basis of literature analysis and the authors’ own research. In effect of the carried out tests there has been made a classification of the road events with a division into: cause, place, date, and time of their occurrence as well as drivers’ age and their driving experience. The whole study has been performed on the basis of a real transportation company, operating on the territory of an urban agglomeration with the population of 500 inhabitants.

The condition of transportation as one of the pillars of the movement of people from one place to another safely, comfortably, quickly, cheaply in accordance with the environment, with the increasing growth rate of motor vehicles (four-wheeled and two-wheeled) is not balanced with the physical road, so that more dense road transportation, especially in the city, with the socio-economic development of the community will affect parents who provide concessions to their children who have not met the age of driving a motor vehicle, especially two wheels. Thus it will affect the road traffic and will result in the occurrence of violations and accidents. The approach to be used is a normative juridical approach or statutory approach, namely research that examines laws relating to road traffic and transportation in accordance with Law No. 22/2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation. In addition to this approach, the authors also carried out a sociological approach which can empirically be known symptoms of changes in  community behavior towards social development in society related  to road users in Malang. Existence in legislation relating to road users in traffic  can  be obeyed  and minimize the occurrence  of violations, crime, safety and comfort, and accidents. Thus the violation of the law will be reduced and order will be well realized.
