In this study, it was tried to determine the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the profession and to determine whether different variables were effective. 397 pre-service teachers selected through appropriate sampling were used in the study. In the study, Erkuş et al. (2000) developed and “Attitude Scale on Teaching” which is a one-dimensional measurement tool that is quadruple likert type scale was used. Analysis of the data; Descriptive methods, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used. Findings of the study: according to “Age”, “Status of doing sports”, “Class” and “Job Satisfaction Levels” showed a significant difference in total scores of “AST” (p <0.05). The average scores of the participants in AST show a generally positive attitude. Consequently, can be concluded that the attitudes of PE teacher candidates towards the profession differ according to some variables.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetBu araştırmayla öğretmen adaylarının mesleğe yönelik tutumlarının belirlenmesi ve bu anlamda farklı değişkenlerin etkili olup olmadığı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada uygun örnekleme yoluyla seçilen 397 öğretmen adayı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada Erkuş ve ark. tarafından (2000) geliştirilen ve tek boyutlu bir ölçme aracı olan “Öğretmenliğe İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Analizlerde; betimsel istatistik yöntemlerinin yanı sıra Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis testlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularında: “Yaş”, “Spor Yapma Durumu”, “Sınıf” ve “Meslekten Memnuniyetlik Düzeylerine” göre “ÖİTÖ” toplam puanlarında manidar bir fark bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Katılımcıların “ÖİTÖ” aldıkları ortalama puanları genel olarak olumlu tutumu göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak ise, Beden eğitimi öğretmeni adaylarının mesleğe yönelik tutumlarınların bazı değişkenlere göre farklılıştığı sonucuna varılabilir.

The aim of this study is to determine the anxiety levels of the students studying in the teaching departments and to examine these according to different variables. The sample of the study consisted of 400 non-random sampling methods and 400 prospective teachers who were studying at Dumlupinar University. The personal information form created by the researchers and the data related to the pre-service teachers' concerns about the teaching profession were provided by Caba and Yalçınalp (2009). In the research findings: “Gender”, “Age”, “Satisfaction Status”, “Class”, “Faculty” and “Sports Making Status” showed a significant difference in “OAST” total scores (p <0.05). Araştırma bulgularında: “Cinsiyet”, “Yaş”, “Okuduğu Bölümden Memnun Olma Durumu”, “Sınıf”, “Fakülte” ve “Spor Yapma Durumu” göre “ÖAYMK” toplam puanlarında manidar farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya gore, öğretmen adaylarının meslekleri ile ilgili kaygı seviyelerinin değişkenlere göre farklılaştığı sonucuna varılabilir.

The aim of this study is to examine teacher candidates&rsquo; perceptions of their own proficiency in using information and communication technologies and their attitudes towards information and communication technologies in terms of gender, major, internet usage frequency and computer ownership. The study group consists of 336 teacher candidates, 98 male (29%) and 238 female (71%) senior students, in different departments at Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Education during the 2017-2018 academic year. The &ldquo;Proficiency Perception Scale for Using Information and Communication Technologies&rdquo; and &ldquo;The Attitude Scale for Information and Communication Technologies&rdquo; developed by different researchers were administered to the candidate teachers. As a result of the findings obtained from the research, there was no significant difference between proficiency levels of the teacher candidates regarding the use of information and communication technologies. Besides, there was not significant difference between the means of attitude towards information and communication technologies in terms of majors and the internet usage frequency, and between the mean proficiency perception scores of using information and communication technologies with regard to gender. It was ascertained that there was a slightly meaningful difference between the attitudes scores for information and communication technologies in favor of males in terms of gender, and as to computer ownership, there was a low level of difference between both attitude and perception scores in favor of computer owners. The findings are discussed within the scope of literature.

The purpose of this study was to examine the attitudes of physical education teacher candidates toward the teaching profession and the perceptions of professional competence according to some variables. A total of 351 teacher candidates, studying in the last class of Physical Education and Sport Teaching Department in the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Physical Education and Sports Schools were enrolled as the research group. “Attitude Scale Related to Teacher Education”, “The Candidate Teacher’s Proficiency Perception Scale” and “Personal Information Form” developed by the researchers were applied on the study subjects to collect the data. It was found that according to the universities, there are differences in the perception of professional competence but there is no difference in attitude. It was also found that there is no meaningful difference between professional perceptions and teaching attitudes in terms of sport branches, the situation in which the education section is selected voluntarily or not.

Instructional Technologies and Material Design (ITMD) lesson is a tool that enables Mathematics teacher candidatesto design materials for contributing to lasting learning of their students, and use them most effectively. This lessonhelps students to activate their creative thinking skills, increase their courage and self-confidence, find differentsolutions in the face of problems, and therefore introduce creative products. In this context, firstly, it is aimed toexamine the level of Mathematics teacher candidates' attitudes towards the Instructional Technologies and MaterialDesign lesson and their effects in terms of different variables in this study and then determine whether there is arelationship between creative thinking tendencies of Mathematics teacher candidates and their attitudes towardsInstructional Technologies and Material Design lesson in this study. The sample of the research constitutes of 315Mathematics teacher candidates who are studying in Mathematics Education Department spring semester of the2016-2017 academic year of at Necmettin Erbakan University. The data were obtained by applying Marmara CreativeThinking Tendency Scale (MCTTS) developed by Özgenel and Çetin (2017) and whose validity and reliability studieswere conducted to teacher candidates, and by applying the Attitude Scale towards Instructional Technologies andMaterial Design Lesson (ASITMD) developed by Çetin, Bağçeci, Kınay, Şimşek (2013) and whose validity andreliability studies were conducted. There was no significant difference between the Attitudes towards InstructionalTechnologies and Material Design Lesson and the Creative Thinking tendencies, in terms of gender variable, but it wasfound significant difference in terms of the high school graduation variable. However, it was obtained that there is apositive and non significant relationship between creative thinking tendencies of Mathematics teacher candidates andtheir attitudes towards Instructional Technologies and Material Design lesson.

It might be of vital importance that teachers, who are the backbones of education system, should obtain their skills related to educating students who are in harmony with modern life in their process as teacher candidates. Physical education teachers should obtain features of quality teaching and using alternative methods of measurement during their bachelor&rsquo;s degree education. Thus, the aim of this study is to analyze efficiency of teacher candidates in movement analysis, self-evaluation and peer evaluation for four basic volleyball skills (forearm pass, setting, underhand serve and overhand serve). In the process of obtaining data, four observation forms were used. In the evaluation of forearm passing and overhand serve, observation forms developed by Ghorbanzadeh Koshki (2013) were used as evaluation tools. For overhand pass and underhand serve, observation forms developed by the researcher and experts were used. Also, information related to genders and ages of the teacher candidates was recorded. In the analysis of the data, t test, Pearson correlation and partial correlation tests were used. In the reliability analyses, interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach Alpha analyses were used. As a result, the teacher candidates&rsquo; scores for self-evaluation of their skills and their peers&rsquo; scores were found to be correlated. No significant difference was found between the two evaluations. The findings were discussed in the frame of the importance for physical education teacher candidates to learn to analyze moves and to use alternative measurement techniques.

The aim of the study is to determine the attitudes of the sport sciences faculty students on gender role; compared with some demographic differences. A total of 200 people (Meanage = 21,91), 122 males (Meanage = 22,07 ± 2,22) and 73 females (Meanage = 21,65 ± 2,01) ± 2,15) were chosen with random selection method and answered "Gender Roles Attitude Scale" (TCRSS) (Zeyneloglu, 2008; Zeyneloglu and Fusun, 2011). In the evaluation of the data; frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and one-factor MANOVA tests were used. According to MANOVA results, the effect of gender [λ = 0,918, F (5, 194) = 3,486, p <0,05] and branch [λ = 0,935, F (5, 194) = 2,700, p <0,05] variables on the sub-dimensions of the Gender Roles Attitude Scale seems to be significant. In addition, the results of the MANOVA analysis showed that the effects of age [λ = 0,954, F (5, 194) = 918, p> 0,05] and class [λ = 0,886, F (5,194) = 1,577, p <0,05] variables on the sub-dimensions of the Gender Roles Attitude Scale seems to be not significant. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that the highest score for gender roles was the “marriage gender role” and the lowest sub-dimension was “women gender roles”. In the light of these findings, it is observed that students of Faculty of Sports Sciences are still experiencing the presence of cultural influences similar to various researches.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetÇalışmanın amacı, spor bilimleri fakültesinde öğrenim gören gençlerin toplumsal cinsiyet rolüne ilişkin tutum düzeylerinin belirlenerek; bazı demografik farklılıklara göre karşılaştırılmasıdır. Background: As future professionals, nursing students are expected to exhibit online professionalism and to be responsible users of social media. However, the rapid sharing of information on social media exposes nursing students to the risk and danger of spreading unprofessional behaviors like breaches of privacy and confidentiality.Objective: This study looked into the nursing students’ perceptions and attitude toward responsible use of social media.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional research design was utilized and participated by 298 nursing students in a College of Nursing in Iloilo City, Philippines. The Responsible Use of Social Media Attitude Scale (RUSMAS) created by the researchers was used to collect the data.Results: Findings indicated that nursing students widely use social media and that nursing students had good perceptions and had positive attitude toward responsible use of social media. A significant difference was found in the attitude of nursing students when grouped according to year level.Conclusion: Social media continue to gain interest among nursing students and using it responsibly must be continuously upheld. Academic nursing institutions should develop approaches promoting social media literacy in nursing education.

<p>Education is the key to raising generations that are modern, democratic, productive, diligent, understanding, perceptive, critical and inquisitive. Teacher education is more important today than it has been in half a century. Thus, teachers are so significant to education and scholars argue that teacher quality is the most important within-school factor affecting student performance because great teachers help create great students. In fact, research shows that an inspiring and informed teacher is the most important school-related factor influencing student achievement, so it is critical to pay close attention to how we train and support both new and experienced educators (Edutopia, 2008). The Republic of Turkey has made great efforts to train teachers and meet the demand for teachers. Pedagogical teacher training is a part of this effort. This study will help determine the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the Pedagogical teacher training they receive, and in this regard the purpose of this study is to develop a measurement tool that can be utilized in future studies. The study showed that “The Attitude Scale towards Pedagogical Teacher Training (PFETO)” is a valid and reliable tool. PFETO is a valid and reliable data collection tool for future studies on attitudes towards Pedagogical Teacher Training.</p>

Aim: The study was carried out in a descriptive type in order to evaluate the attitudes of nursing students towards brain drain. Method: The research was conducted with 589 nursing students studying at a public university and agreeing to participate in the study. The data were collected using “Descriptive Features Form” and “Brain Drain Attitude Scale in Nursing Students”. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t test and ANOVA test were used to analyze the data. Findings: It was determined that more than half of the students were in the 20 years and below, female, single, 29.4 of them are studying in the first class, 77.6% of their families live in the city center and 45.0% of them have income above the minimum level. Also 81.8% of the students stated that they knew English as a foreign language, 61.1% of them knew foreign language in medium level and 94.1% did not participate in any student exchange program. The students' average score taken from the Brain Drain Attitude Scale in Nursing Students was found to be 42.98 ± 9.91. A statistically significant difference was found between the scale total score of the students and the class level where students study, the level of income, the level of known foreign language, and participation in student exchange programs (p <0.05). Conclusion: It was determined that attitudes of nursing students towards brain drain were below average. In line with the results of the research, it is recommended to conduct similar studies with different sample groups. ​Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file.   Özet Amaç: Çalışma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin beyin göçüne yönelik tutumlarını değerlendirilmek amacı ile tanımlayıcı türde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Araştırma bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören ve çalışmayı katılmayı kabul eden 589 hemşirelik öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler “Tanımlayıcı Özellikler Formu” ve “Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinde Beyin Göçüne Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, independent samples t testi ve ANOVA testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %59.1’ inin 20 yaş ve altında, 75.4’ ünün kadın, %99.2’ sinin bekar olduğu, 29.4’ ünün birinci sınıfta öğrenim gördüğü, %77.6’ sının ailesinin şehir merkezinde yaşadığı ve  %45.0’ ının gelir durumunu asgari düzeyin üzerinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin %81.8’ i yabancı dil olarak İngilizce’ yi bildiğini, %61.1’ i orta düzeyde yabancı dil bildiğini ve %94.1’ i herhangi bir öğrenci değişim programına katılmadığını ifade etmiştir. Öğrencilerin, Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinde Beyin Göçüne Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği’ nden aldıkları puan ortalaması 42.98±9.91 olarak bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin ölçek toplam puanı ile öğrenim gördükleri sınıf, gelir düzeyi, bilinen yabancı dil düzeyi ve öğrenci değişim programlarına katılma durumu arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Sonuç: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin beyin göçüne yönelik tutumlarının ortalamanın altında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucu doğrultusunda farklı örneklem grupları ile benzer çalışmalar yapılması önerilmektedir.

The purpose in this study is to determine cognitive understandings of student teachers about the use of energy produced by these plants and hydro-electric plants, which have recently engaged in the agenda of the media in Turkey. The descriptive (scanning) method which based on quantitative research paradigm intented for the case study in study is used. The five Likert-type instrument consist of fifteen statements (5 right, 10 scientifically incorrect) have been developed. For the measurement instrument reliability coefficient (Cronbach α) was found to be .82. Measurement tool, Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, Faculty of Education, Classroom Teacher, Social Studies and Science Teacher Education programs, a total of 422 student teachers, was applicated. For analysis of the data, t-test and one-way variance analysis was used and for determine the direction of the difference in variance analysis, the Scheffe test was used. As a result, it was found significantly correlation between teacher candidates' the sources to obtain information about hydroelectric plants and the cognitive understandings. According to the gender and their fields of the teacher candidates, cognitive understandings about hydroelectric plants showed significant difference. In addition, cognitive understandings of student teachers is considered as teachers of future about hydroelectric plants does not have a sufficient level.
