Impact of implementation of Nusantara Module Activities Independent Student Exchange Program Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya

This type of research uses a quantitative approach. The quantitative approach is the approach used in research by measuring the indicators of the research variables in order to obtain an overview between these variables. Quantitative research is used to examine the population or sample. Data is collected using instruments or measuring instruments, then analyzed statistically or quantitatively. The Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya runs the Independent Student Exchange program by accepting 32 inbound students and sending outbound students as many as 167 students throughout Indonesia outside Java, where the archipelago module is a compulsory subject offered by the Ministry of Education and Research and Technology. In this activity, there were several recipient universities that only provided online learning, so students couldn’t directly explore the knowledge gained during the PMM program. However, this doesn’t dampen the enthusiasm of students to continue learning about the diversity that exists in Indonesia.

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka: Application in Education Faculty

The independence policy is a hot topic in the world of education. The premise that learning exists is carried out in the preparation of university graduates, both public and private, to meet the modern-day and rapid change challenges. Independent learning is a notion that aspires to excel from graduates as future leaders with an increasing number of personalities. Independent programs provide students with independence and flexibility to develop their potential through their hobbies and talents. This study will first examine the format of the eight Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs (MBKM) featured in the Merdeka Independent Campus Free Book released by the Ministry of Education and Culture's Directorate General Higher Education (Published in 2020). Second, a variant of MBKM that was adopted in the Odd and Even semesters of the 2020/2021 Academic Year at a university in Aceh's Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The findings indicated that there were eight Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs, including the following: 1) student exchange, 2) internship/work experience, 3) teaching in educational institutions, 4) village projects, 5) research, 6) entrepreneurial activities, 7) independent studies, and 8) humanitarian projects. The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education has run a student exchange program with another university, a teaching assistant program in educational institutions, and a program to build villages/thematic lectures for students and lecturers who passed the selection process for a grant program called "Kampus Mengajar."

Concept analysis of Pancasila student character in the "Merdeka" Student Exchange Program at University of Merdeka Malang

The Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 3 and 20 of 2020, students are given the right to study for a maximum of three semesters of study outside the study program and campus through the Merdeka Learning-Independent Campus or “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) Program and the Pancasila student profile as the embodiment of Indonesian students. “Merdeka” Student Exchange Program or “Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa” (PMM) to accommodate the MBKM program and the realization of the Pancasila student profile. In the implementation of PMM, there are learning activities that provide experiences of diversity, inspiration, reflection, and national social contribution through the Nusantara Module (MN). The MN provides an opportunity to implement the concept of Pancasila student character in the implementation of PMM at the University of Merdeka Malang. The purpose of this study was to obtain the concept of the character of Pancasila students in higher education. The research method used descriptive qualitative, with the entire population of the PMM participants in the University of Merdeka Malang. Data were obtained through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and FGDs. The result is the concept of Pancasila character in higher education could be supported by the PMM program with the MN activities.

Międzynarodowa mobilność edukacyjna jako determinanta rozwoju osobistego i zawodowego studentów

The aim of the article is to analyze the extent, to which the participation of students in learning mobility projects on the example of the Erasmus+ programme influences the improvement of their individual skills desired from the perspective of the labour market. The text begins with an introduction that outlines the background to the considerations undertaken. Next, the historical context of learning mobility in Europe and the process of internationalization of universities are presented as one of the consequences of the globalizing labour market. In the following part of the article we characterized the best known European programme promoting academic mobility Erasmus+. The end of the article contains a review of the research on the competences of beneficiaries of learning mobility projects, supported by statistical data, and an attempt to draw a link between participation in student exchange and the chances of finding a satisfactory employment after graduation. The analysis shows that graduates with foreign mobility experience develop a number of characteristics and skills, that increase their employability and career opportunities.

Practice on CSU-CCECC-ABU Cooperation Mode

Student exchange program has been an integral part of higher education, which is popularly known as international joint-, double-, and combined-degree programs, which perform an important role in which its strategic plan is aimed to allow students to become true global citizens. Educational Internationalization strategy brings important benefits to individuals, institutions, and the nation’s education systems. The international student exchange program is not only a powerful tool in strengthening the relationship between two institutions but also helps in building the social, political, and economic development of the partner nations. Also, it is among the most cost-effective ways to project influence around the world. Educational cooperation on student’s exchange has been of positive impact on the status of any country, institution, and students which has directly influenced the society at its eminent background for an only positive outcome and a brighter future. The maiden practice of CSU-CCECC-ABU cooperation was in line with the mission of both universities to deeply promote collaborative innovations to meet the needs and challenges of both Nigeria, the Peoples Republic of China, and the rest of the world.This paper first outlined the background concepts and explicitly analyzed the pattern of cooperation practice, research on the National, University, and Students benefits respectively. Second, it provided a comprehensive description of challenges faced by exchange students during their stay in China. Third, suggestions were also provided on how to improve and sustain the educational cooperation practice of the joint degree program. Furthermore, it provides the current status of the CSU-CCECC-ABU cooperation practice. Finally, the paper provides directions to subsequent research studies.

From frustration to enlightenment: experiences of student exchange program awardees in Taiwan

Background: This qualitative study investigates the experiences of international students’ exchange who faced difficulties in adjusting to their new environment. They experienced awkwardness in the use of advanced equipment from technology and in various cultural aspects. This study investigates two Indonesian students who participated for a semester at a Taiwanese university. It aims to explore the Indonesian student exchange program awardees’ experiences by examining both the obstacles and benefits of attending the Taiwanese university. Methods: This study used qualitative data analysis. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview, informal participant observations, and a set of open and closed-ended questions. Two Indonesian undergraduate students who belonged to the same major, year, and university were recruited to participate in this study. Results: Challenges and Benefits are the two major themes in this research. Challenges include: (1) Departure and journey; (2) Difficulties in settling in; (3) Inability to use technology facilities. Benefits include: (1) Meeting new people and exploring new places; and (2) 21st-century classroom environments. Conclusions: Despite the challenges that are associated with being students exchange awardee, there are vast opportunities for self-development and learning that is associated with teaching from the 21st-century classroom pedagogy.

Does Globalization Affect the Performance of Secondary Education Systems? A Coevolution Model of Multiplex Transnational Networks and Educational Performance

In Chap. 10.1007/978-3-030-78885-8_4, Helen Seitzer and Michael Windzio address PISA scores, student exchange, service sector trade flows, and migration. PISA, a study on education system effectiveness, is used to compare, name, and shame the ‘best’ and ‘worst’ of state education. Better education in connection to job prospects is one reason for migration but might also influence students’ choice of the destination for an exchange. But, both these networks might also follow existing paths of interconnectedness, similar to service trade relations. Applying a network coevolution model, the authors ask if a country’s change in PISA scores coincides with student exchange flows and migration patterns, or if other factors such as cultural, geographical, or economic aspects influence the choice of destination.

Models of sports student exchange and the role of their support systems

Establishing student exchange programs is one way for sports science faculty to support the University to be a world-class university. For several years the faculty has been hosting several batches of a sports students exchange (SSE) program that gains interest and benefits for the students and the institution; however, limited studies have been conducted to present information about the program and its support system. This research is conducted to explain and give an overview of the program as well as explore the support system of the program. Three primary data, namely a depth-interview, questionnaire, and documentation, are gathered to explore the SSE program. The participants are lectures, faculty management, and students involved in the SSE in 2018-2019. The existence of the SSE program was exceedingly influenced by the faculty participation in AUCPESS. A grant from the Dharmasiswa Scholarship that aimed to bolster the exchange of culture and build up the Faculty's International atmosphere was the first booster. However, after the funding stopped, the program ran independently with non-financial support from Rector, faculty management, partner universities, and students. Hence, funding is not a pivotal issue as long as the University and faculty management eager to support the program.
