Programme of 100% condom is being used to prevent HIV by means of the unsafe sexual transaction, and it considered of condom use by female sex workers in Semarang was only 55 %. Based on KPA Semarang evaluation, pimps practice of the 100% condom use programme was still less.Knowing the factors that influence pimps practice of 100% condom use by the FSW at Argorejo resocialization was the aims in this research. Quantitative method with cross sectional approach was used in this study. Pimps in this research as many as 144 pimps, and have been become the sample of the research with total sampling technique. Data has been analyzed by univariate, chi-square (bivariate), and logistic regression (multivariate analysis). The result showed that 50,7% pimps practices were good. NGO support was the main variable that has considerable influence on the pimps practice.  Variables which correlated toward pimps practice were education, support (friend, health provider, NGO). From this research, can be conclude that support from NGO can increase pimp’s practice besides education, and the period of work. Keywords : STI and HIV/AIDS, pimps, 100% condom

ENGLISHAwareness level of condom use consistently among high-risk groups is still low. HIV/AIDS incidents can be triggered by inconsistency of condom use. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors associated with the consistency of condom usage in female sex workers. The research used a quantitative descriptive approach with a cross sectional design. The research period was from June to September 2018 with the location of research in the prostitution areas in Margorejo Subdistrict, Pati. Sample selection used incidental sampling with 70 respondents. Data analysis used Chi square (X2) with Confidence Interval (CI) value of 95% (α = 0.05) by using 2x2 table. The results of the research:  factors that are related to the consistency of condom use in female sex workers are income level and marital status. Low income sex workers will try to find clients as many as possible without using a condom. Meanwhile , the married clients or those who have wife tended to use condom when having sex with female sex workers due to protecting their spouses.

Female sex workers (FSWs) are at high risk for HIV. Cross-sectional surveys using a venue–day–time approach for recruitment were conducted among FSWs in Rwanda in 2006, 2010 and 2015. Chi square test for trends was computed to determine behavior changes. Logistic regression models were computed to determine risk factors associated with consistent condom use for the 2015 survey. There were 1041, 1338, and 1978 FSWs surveyed in 2006, 2010, and 2015, respectively. Condom use at the last sexual encounter with a client was similar in all surveys: 84.2%, 64.1%, and 83.3% (p = 1.0), respectively. Comprehensive HIV knowledge among FSWs was higher in 2015 than in 2006: 18.4%, 53.1%, and 71.1% (p = 0.00), respectively. Living in Kigali City and the Western province (aOR = 1.9 [95% CI: 1.3–2.8] and aOR = 2.0 [95% CI: 1.4–2.9], respectively) and higher level of education (OR = 2.0 [95% CI: 1.4–2.9]) were positively associated with consistent condom use with a client. Street-based FSWs (aOR = 0.7 [95% CI: 0.6–0.9]); FSWs with sex work as sole occupation (aOR = 0.6 [95% CI: 0.5–0.7]); FSWs who experienced sexually transmitted infections in the last year (aOR = 0.7 [95% CI: 0.5–0.8]) and HIV-positive FSWs (aOR = 0.8 [95% CI: 0.6–0.9]) were less likely to report consistent condom use. HIV prevention methods have evolved among FSWs in RWanda over the last decade, but HIV prevalence remains high. Condom use among many FSWs is inconsistent. New approaches for behavior change and income-generating activities are needed to reduce the vulnerability of FSWs in Rwanda.

Research conducted in 2018 regarding the use of condoms among female sex workers (FSW) in Sanur, Denpasar City, found that condom use had beed promoted, but there were still FSW who did not use condoms when dealing with customers. Gianyar Regency is an area with the second highest direct FSW after Denpasar City. Gianyar Regency has many locations and points of sexual transactions. One of the wellknown locaizations in Gianyar Regency is the one along the Baypass Ida Bagus Mantra. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an exploratory study of STIs and HIV/AIDS prevention behavior in female sex workers in Gianyar Regency. This study used a qualitative method with purposive sampling technique on 15 informants consisting of female sex workers, pimps and friends/customers by conducting indepth interviews. The results showed that even though the use of condoms had been encouraged, there were also participants who did not use condoms when dealing with custumors. They mostly argued that their partners did not like the use of condoms in sexual intercourse. The low use of condoms is related to economic factors. If they use a condoms for sexual intercourse, it will reduce the income of FSW. In the prevention of STIs and HIV/AIDS, most FSW never did an HIV test

While traditional HIV prevention programs with female sex workers (FSWs) in Karnataka, India, have focused on reducing HIV transmission between FSWs and clients through increased condom use, these programs have not fully addressed the transmission risk between FSWs and their nonpaying intimate partners (IPs). Condom use is infrequent and violence is recurrent in these relationships: Furthermore, there is little evidence on the precise nature of FSW–IP relationships. Our study addresses this knowledge gap to inform HIV programs targeted at FSWs. A series of workshops, using participatory tools, was held to explore FSW-IP relationships; 31 FSWs and 37 IPs participated. Three aspects of FSW–IP relationships were examined: how FSWs and IPs understand and interpret their relationships, factors influencing condom use, and the role of violence and its consequences. FSWs wish to be perceived as their IPs’ wives, while IPs expect their FSW partners to accept their dominance in the relationship. Nonuse of condoms signals fidelity and elevates the status of the relationship almost to that of marriage, which helps FSWs enter the category of “good” (married) women. Tolerating and accepting violence in these relationships is normative, as in other marital relationships; IPs justify violence as necessary to establish and maintain their power within the relationship. Both FSWs and IPs value their relationships despite the high degree of risk posed by low condom use and high levels of violence. Implications for program design include addressing current norms around masculinity and gender roles, and improving communication within relationships.

Introduction. Female sex workers (FSWs) are a group at increased risk for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, and inconsistent condom use with clients is a known risk factor for infection in this group. Objective. The aim of the study was to determine factors associated with inconsistent condom use with clients among female sex workers in Podgorica, Montenegro. Methods. We conducted an HIV bio-behavioral cross-sectional study in a sample of female sex workers recruited by snowball sampling. Results. A total of 142 FSWs were recruited. Eighty-one (57.0%) of them used condoms consistently with clients. HIV prevalence was 0.0%. In the multivariate analysis inconsistent condom use with clients in the previous month was associated with clients? negative personal attitude [age-adjusted odds ratio (AOR) = 22.7, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 2.3-228.0] or client?s indifference (AOR = 13.0, 95% CI = 1.4-118.9) towards using condom during sex with sexual workers, decision making by clients or by mutual agreement with client about using a condom (AOR = 10.2, 95% CI = 3.7-28.0), and early age of first sex (AOR = 5.4, 95% CI = 1.6-18.5). Conclusion. Our results suggest not only the need for further promotion of condom use, information and education for FSW but also the need to strengthen negotiation skills of FSWs with clients on regular use of condoms, as well as the need to extend prevention programs to clients of FSWs.
